The real heartbeat of America; old school! As I watch original videos of when racing first started, they were the family cars, daily drivers. Thanks again for the video and look forward to seeing more 😀!
It was a pleasure getting to film here for the first time to share with you guys!!! Hope you enjoy my coverage, it’s just coming to my attention that I skipped a first round race with Justin in the Honda who won by gaps against an s10. Apologize for missing that, I never usually make that mistake but clips do get shuffled around in the software and I put this one together pretty quickly after some time away from the footage. I won’t make that mistake again! Hope you enjoy! 😎👊🏁
@@ratrobs7693 I hope as many people as possible come down, I want to see what would happen if we had something like 30 cars out there at once. And I usually start at the back so it'd be interesting to see how far up the field I could move in five laps
Outstanding video and deeply appreciate you taking the time to do this. Fantastic show case for an event at New Smyrna Speedway, FL, that continues to gain in popularity and participation.
There wasn't any burnouts in spectator races here, we drive almost a complete lap before arriving at the start finish line. By the time we get there our tires are already warm there's no need for a burnout.
@@THEDriverMod_ this was the last scheduled one this season, but sometimes they start again as soon as January. This year they started the first one in March.
Awesome video, for some reason my first race got skipped, but I guess it wasn't a close one anyways. Hope to see you there next season when I get my firebird on the track.
Wow very rare TBERG mistake...that’s a first, clips get shuffled when I import them to the software and I totally missed that! I’ll be back to redeem myself and upload all your races next time! 🤦♂️😂👊
Thx for this @Tberg Media. Appreciate your time and effort. Great job! 😁 So these two Mustangs still dominate at New Smyrna. And it doesn't seem to change, unless Charlie shows up 🤣
The problem is that in order for Charlie to make the trip all the way down here, he wants the feature race to be 10 laps. And none of us want to run our cars that long.
@@JustinOtterholt hey! I've seen you commenting quite a bit and was wondering what's your track. Now I know. Not bad riding that fart can automatic Civic 🙂 Can you tell me what a difference that makes for Charlie? From what I understand, Spectator Drags is the star of the show. And he's with a good chance to win both events, no matter if it's 5, 10 or 15 laps...
@@effyfil4277 yeah the Civic I just borrowed for that one event, my Firebird isn't ready yet. New Smyrna is my home track now yes. Charlie has a good chance to win if he can keep it together in the corners, but he has said in the past that he wants a 10-lap feature to make the long trip worth his while coming all the way from New York. And we don't want to race a 10 lapper here. 5 laps here on a 1/2 mile track is plenty.
@@JustinOtterholt I get it, but... I don't get it ;) Why the ten lapper? For "more show as I go"? Anyway. What's your Firebird? Curious to see it run... you possibly a match to these two Mustang veterans?
@@effyfil4277 I don't know, you'd have to ask him why he wants 10 laps. My Firebird is a 1979 with a built 327 that revs to 8k rpm and is geared like crazy. It'll get some wins out there, but I'm not going to run it at every event, probably every other event. Here's a video of it against a supercharged SRT8 300C on drag radials for the 2011 championship ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CZ4OKG_k6Qo.html
That would be interesting if seekonk adopted this dynamic with all vehicles racing at the end. Although the seekonk track is smaller, just a thought. Great vid as always!
Yeahh they worked in 5 car 5 lap races twice this season for special events but definitely a much smaller track for all the cars at once lol I don’t even know if I’d want to see all the Seekonk guys on THIS track at once! 😅
@@TBERGMEDIA the problem is, the Seekonk guys are too fast to go balls out in the corners at this track. With how powerful their cars are their brakes wouldn't last five laps and that's if they managed to not hit each other in the process.
@@TBERGMEDIA perhaps, but they like to let it all hang out in the corners at seekonk, and they wouldn't be able to do that here with how narrow it is in the corners especially in the feature race. Me personally I'd love to see it, but if they get too rowdy and start bumping into each other then they wouldn't be welcomed back.
It doesn't need to be, we welcome all comers to join us. It doesn't matter what car you are in, driving around the track like that is an absolute blast.
@@sweetdreams2460 yeah a lot of the drivers out there racing with us go out there knowing that they can't win, but they have every bit as much fun as those who are winning. There's nothing like driving around the racetrack like a real race car and then driving it straight home.
Yeah he beat Casey twice earlier this season and it always happens in the last lap. But this time Casey was on fresh tires, so it took a little bit longer to catch him.
Motorcycle spectator races would be very exciting, however it would have to be with some slower bikes because if you get some fast sport bikes out there, somebody would die.
@@justachipn3039 the problem is that most people in my area with the really fast cars aren't willing to risk it in the feature race with everyone on the track, and the ones who would do it have never heard of spectator racing
@@JustinOtterholt You/they need to do better... other tracks that do this have cheap but fast Vetts Camaros Mustangs EVERYTHING up to 60 70 80+k cars lol Like I said in comment... pretty pathetic !!! Lets hope you/they do better... it's a hellofa lot of fun !!! 😜😜👍👍 Real sad guys... putt putt cars 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Raise track standards or give the locals the finger...
@@justachipn3039 not much I can do about it, I do my part by showing up. In this particular event I was borrowing a Honda Civic because my Firebird wasn't ready yet.
He also lost to me in the 110hp civic. But It was the guy's first time racing, and he was understandably nervous racing in a crowd of cars like that. I was talking with him a lot leading up to the event, that will be a fast car once he gets more seat time
Yeah, I saw that too. Maybe I shouldn't come down on the driver so hard, these can be fast but require some getting used to first, solid axle can be tricky under heavy loads on a sloped track surface. Nice run with your Honda though 👍
New Smyrna is in Florida if I'm not mistaken, that would be a drive from NY😄 Honestly I'd love a track here but maybe one where cars run laps on their own, I'd be terrified to put a 20y.o car I care for for 9 years against someone not scared to trade paint if need be lol. Always wanted to go to Lime Rock Park in CT or Watkins Glen upstate.
@@g00dl00kinb0i Seekonk is closer in MA but riskier IMHO. If you ever make it down to FL, may as well register with Chin and hit the Sebring long course also. Yeah, those guys who race their only vehicle are fn whack 🤪
@@JustinOtterholt did mommy not give you enough hugs you seem a bit sensitive. I would hate to be the woman that rejects you next thing you know her boobs ain’t big enough her ass is too big her hair is short 🤷you’re just a sensitive little bitch ain’t you? 😂🤣😂🖕🫵🤡 are you a cop?🤭
Too much babbling in between rounds with the announcer Which should’ve been edited out you couldn’t see the burn outs you couldn’t see the start just a few things that could’ve been done better and now I’m getting blasted by deputy dip shit🤷 My bad I didn’t know you needed a RU-vid degree to give advice😂🤣😂🤣
@@Theuglytruth1776 you couldn't see the burnouts because there weren't any. We drive almost a complete lap before arriving at the start line, our tires are warm by the time we get there so there isn't a need for a burnout. And I figured that if you're going to criticize someone's content and editing, that perhaps you should provide something better on your Channel, kind of like lead by example.
Yeah idk, black mustang is the only one that uses it. But I don't complain about it because the guy is a really cool dude and always offers advice to anyone who needs it. He's a former late model driver. Plus, the firebird I'm bringing out there next season is only borderline streetable too, soooo yeah 🤷♂️
You'd need a really strong Lincoln to do that. Guy is on toyo r888r 315s on all 4 corners and is a former late model driver at this track. It can be done, but it takes a hell of a car to run with him, especially in the feature.
Really good video. But that announcer was annoying. He messed up on the calling the camaro a mustang, and continues with the lame mustang remarks. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
