Spectator Racing | New Smyrna, Jun 29 '24 (CLIP) 

Big Gravy here. Saw that some folks want to know, "What I was thinking?" Well, it turns out - not much. Did finally get in some communication with Tyler Murphy, and I apologized to him, and we are good now. He is a great American and consider him a friend. When I was at the start line, one of the track officials told me Tyler's truck sounded like it had a rod knocking pretty bad, and Tyler mentioned he was having trouble with his clutch. So when the green dropped and he didn't move, I just backed up as a joke and puddered around. I wrongfully "assumed" he went back to pit road over by turn two. I honestly wasn't tracking he was still on the track (and I can't hear Ryan in the Mustang with my helmet on). My intent coming out of turn 3 was to ease into the inside lane and keep puddering across the finish line. Completely dumb move on my part since Tyler was on the track and charging hard. Although the incident was a terrible accident, it is another example of why you don't bring your car out there unless you are ok with the potential for it to get damaged. There were some on other sites who questioned my "racing edicate" on this and other races. Let me just say, I never get on the track to just showcase how pretty I am or my car is... my intent is to win and win every time if possible. It really is as simple as that. If my car gets damaged in pursuit of victory, then it gets damaged. Here is the bottom line: Race fans, for no matter what division, appreciate a warrior mentality when racing. I'll be back when I get the car repaired.

I've been to my fair share of spectator racing at the local tracks in Maine and I've seen where the competitor's will intentionally run into the other guy

Why was the mustang going into pits? Dude was clueless on where the track was going

Nothin like a 2013-2014 GT man they have the best lines even when wrecked haha

Unfortunately the stang won't be as cheap to repair as the obs chevy

New Smyrna is a really big track for spectator drags. Really cool to see but man, the risk of something really bad happening goes up when the speeds are higher.

I don't know what either of them were thinking. The truck seriously had to know the Mustang wasn't racing anymore? He was inconceivably slow. But Also don't know why the Mustang was going for the inside pits or whatever is there.
