A few months ago (October 2022)I bought a 2022 Nissan Armada to accommodate my growing family. Drove the vehicle for a few months with no issues but around 4,500 miles my wife and I noticed a sound that was like a strong wind or better yet sounded like a 747 airplane about to take off! Timestamp: 0:24
Took it the dealership that I bought from and they said it was normal since the V8 are need a bigger fan to cool off the engine. We still wasn’t convinced. I waited about a month and decided to take it to another Nissan dealership closer to our residence. They were able to determine that the fan clutch was bad and they replaced it once the part came in. I was glad they were able to replicate the issue I was experiencing. In a nutshell what happens is the gmail clutch stays engaged and is cooling the engine off longer that it is supposed to. The result is a wind like sound when accelerating and decelerating.
If you experience this please ensure that the dealership does not brush it off as normal.
