this was probably the sickest opening day yet in terms of runs open and snow quality! massive thanks to the entire buckhouse crew for their support and hospitality during my time out in Colorado! 🙏🏽
Good things do happen to good people ✔️ Nice to be along for the ride (thanks for sharing). Cool to see you catching up with JB and his crew. Your microphone is much improved during your runs 👌 Happy to hear your feeling better and excited to see the side project material - let’s goooo ✌️
it's really great to see you getting recognized by companies for your skills man. such a blessing and such a great adventure you are on. Thanks for taking us along for the ride brother.
I love watching you ski. You were talking about your videos being redundant and not trying to just push out content, but to just document your journey. I think that's part of what makes it so fun to watch you, because i love getting the full experience of an opening day and to just watch a genuine skiing video, rather than watching something forced. Keep doing your thing!
Duuuuudeeee congrats on securing that US Ski Olympic shooting deal! Best of luck with that but I'm pretty sure you're gonna kill it 🤙🏻 sick opening day at Vail and can't believe we got a SECOND Buckhouse collab vid!!
Solid opening day a little fresh pow - no need to apologize on the videos - we are all jealous you are out there! When the snow starts hitting its gonna be insanity! Filming for us ski!!!??? Lets goooooo congrats man - lucas to the 🌙
Watching you and Buckhouse hit all of these opening days together brings such a huge smile to my face. Vail looked incredible, the stoke for the season gets higher every day 🤘🏼
Lucas, I love seeing your progression over the seasons! Can’t wait to see what this year brings you (100k+ for sure). I know how much work goes into daily uploads, so don’t fret if you miss a day or two, keep yourself healthy and happy first! Looking forward to this season ❄️🎿
Thank you nick! 100k would be a wild ride but not sure if it’ll happen this season. Appreciate you looking out. I’m just doing daily rn because it works but I’m not holding myself to it throughout the year!
HELL YEAHHH!!! I was peeking the map while watching this and i /think/ that stepper pow section may have been S. Look Ma, which is a black! So first black run open hell yeah to that! Been KILLING the vids this season man. So stoked
This type of content is more appealing to me than some highly scripted and/or unattainable riding and terrain. Seeing an incredible skier riding resorts is super motivating...it seems more attainable. I don't even ski, I am a snowboarder, but this and Cvlogs are my favorite channels. I especially like this channel since I moved to Salt Lake last year. Hopefully I'll see Lucas on hill someday!!!
Nice skiing buddy! Hopefully everything went smooth today. Very cool work opportunity. Might have to head up to Loveland myself for an afternoon ski sesh.
Best of the year so far man!!! From one who lives where no snow really drops, you make me feel like I'm there with you. Wondering if Crested Butte is in the future as well?
Loved it, as a past Vail resident any images of that glorious mountain does my heart wonders. Leaving there as one of the hardest things to do. What makes it worse is that i live in Las Vegas with just tiny Mt. Charleston near by. (takes about ten minutes to ski) with Park City about 6 - 7 Hrs away. Loved your runs. Keep it up and congratulations on the gig.
Yeah Lucas! Thanks for sharing this one. I'll be there in a week and would be so stoked to get in some trees early season. Hope you feel better man. Don't sweat over thinking your content, just keep being yourself as it's a great channel. Hope I run into you for a fist bump on the slopes!
Top skiing content on you tube. You're a good guy and it comes thru. Vail looked great. And hope your gigs w Head continues. (They're gonna give you merch when they see your following and the free ads they get w you.)
Slamming it so far Lucas! Going to be a hell of a season! We actually have snow flurries here in Cincy Oh this morning! Ha! "Ski bum living in a van",. Can't we all be so lucky!
Appreciated when you made a run with Buckhouse et al. I think it's cool when RU-vidrs link-up and there is a camaraderie there. First time watching one of your videos. Really impressed with your rig too. Conditions definitely look better than last season. Can't wait to make it out to Colorado . . . Will watch more of your channel!
Vail back bowls 2/26/24 for us. This is a primer for us. Hope you get back to Vail early & "later" this season. When the conditions are "Optimal"! I had forgotten that you met Buckhouse & Crew. The "Formula" works. Great vid! 👍 😊 11:58 - So much Terrain for an opener! JJ's looking good! 😊 Just a "Ski Bum in a van". LOL❤
Wow.. conditions look fantastic there.. I was at Breck and I would say that you had better conditions but Breck did have real snow.. I could feel the ice underneath but skiing on real snow was certainly a treat;)
One last thing... It was cold at Breck.. It felt like winter.. I think I have a little frost bite on my cheeks and my fingers kept freezing and I wear mittens.. A great thing to complain about.. Snowmaking machines were in full force plus there was more actual snow on the ground than this time a year ago.. Great to see..
Dude, so happy for you! Good stuff happens to really good people! Do your thing Lucas. We’re all “stoked” for you brother! Can’t wait to see your next video!
Hope u will feel better Lucas. I am going to be at vail during Christmas week to ski. It’s exciting to see the good opening day, and I hope the back bowl will be open before Christmas, and if u r around the area by any chance, I’d be super stocked to meet u!
Amazing video, cool how they hired you to film for them, they definitely got the right guy. I would ski today but my brother has work so there’s no way for me to get up there.
Say what you want the crowds the town the crazy people this hill really has the goods The trail system on this hill is just incredible I have got to enjoy this probably more than any other hill in North America and I'm so happy that you shared it with all of us...... Unveil Vail
Vail yesterday was legit!!! We are traveling to California next week and stopping/skiing in Salt lake and Lake Tahoe before heading to Sonoma County. Where do you recommend staying in Park City and Heavenly in our van?
Awesome man! I use the app ioverlander to try and find parking but in the winter it’s kind of just whatever you can do to crash for a night. Arrive late and leave early!
Man this is such an awesome video! Super sick that your videography expertise are so recognised. Future is bright for you bro, enjoy filming with the US Ski team. Keep up the good work!
Sweet video man, love the van life you do. I have those same skis too. Just bought some lighter new skis tho for more fun adventures other than just POW. I would love to join you one day
nice video - at the 8:36 mark - which camera was shooting JB and then your sequence right after? Settings too please - I think I see a shadow of chase camera -maybe a gopro?
@@LucasCatania17 … btw I have videos from Switzerland, Japan, France & Chile. The videos are not as good as yours but I’m sure you’ll find something you like 😀⛷
All good info/content regardless. Helps me plan even for the early season to late season. Just keep the content coming. But, leave the nose blowing and grab like that out
Catching up on on your "older" stuff. So stoked you got to run with John Buckhouse for a bit. I look to him and Ryan Knapton for technique hints to improve my snowboard riding.
WOW! OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS!!! WAY TO BREAK DOWN THE DOORS!!! FILMING US TEAM MEMBERS!!! Who knows what other gigs this could lead too! Contact other Ski Manufacturers and National Race Teams! Perhaps they'll fund you doing a shoot in Europe!!! (We'd be so lucky!!!) BTW- These are great videos! Please do what inspires you!!! We're fortunate you share!!! It's all good!!! Please consider the following- As a veteran Ski Instructor- ALWAYS put pole straps on. :-) (Even when doing selfies... The poles can always drag behind you if you let them go...) It sucks having to chase back up the hill if they are lost in a crash or any other reason... This is 1st RULE in every class I teach! The minute a student gets off the chair, they HAVE to put the pole straps on. We don't move down the hill until ALL have done this! It gets old very fast, having to hike back up the hill to gather up a pole left behind inadvertently. All the best!
