The thing with the sierra’s is the topography goes from sea level to the alpine heights , so fog will happen , maybe you should bring a spare lens just in case . Looked awesome !!!
If you are looking to go to sugar bowl go on Saturday this weekend that is when they open crows for the first time of the year there won’t be a soul there and I might see you
Just texted with Casey Willax, he's open to showing you around the Tahoe mountains and doing a video collab... you can probably hit him up on Facebook or I can relay a message if you can't get him on Facebook. Let me know so I can delete this message.
No one has better product than Lucas. What an amazing day at alpine meadows. I’ve been here a bunch but never seen it look this good. You seriously have to get insanely lucky or track a storm to get it this good.
I am so pumped. Coming up from Alabama to show Snow Bird whats up!! I bought my rustler 9 used only 3 times off facebook marketplace last month!! I am in Bama and I switched the location to salt lake City. He thought I was a scam at first. My buddy lives in SLC and he had a buddy who lives in park city right down the road from the seller. Just need boots and getting them fitted day one when I get to utah. Love your Videos. Bro the Van life scene for skiers is sick and clearly its really blown up over the last few years. If I still lived in Idaho I would legit get one just like yours. Blue sky days with powder is Heaven. Ski Hard Ski Fun Ski Safe !
@@LucasCatania17 Happy to be along for the ride Lucas. Damn, what a great season already. You deserve… EPIC. Stay safe, consider plastic plates/cups and “don’t forget to bring multiple lenses (for goggles)” -You said that in one of your episodes. 😉🙏🤘👑
Hell yes, Lucas! So glad to see you gettin' some of the goods in the local neighborhood; I love the appreciation you show for the journey. I just completed Day 9 on the mountain this season and am stoked off our collective experience. What you got at @10:00 is incredible footage and is something to really remember. Great video, man!
Sick, just plain sick!!! Incredibly beautiful footage!! You have to get tired of reading all these types of comments but honestly Lucas it’s insane the quality vids you put out. Love the ‘hell with it’ attitude you had with the chute everyone was contemplating on! Also, I think your black lenses are cursed. Just stick with the blue or purple lol! Safe travels!
Yay Alpine Meadows! You'll like Mammoth too if you haven't been yet. You can ski chair 23 for the rest of your life and not really get bored. Caution: you might never want to leave. And the spring skiing is totally awesome.
The D chute is the D8 chute because a D8 catipiller bulldoze rolled over all the way down this was in the 60ds. I work as a lift operator in the 60ds. It was a blast and BOBO S. was the Boss and a good one. I still have a pair of skies with there logo on them. I got them from the rental guy. For the views you should ski Homewood it looks like you could ski right into the lake.
I wish you could’ve skied sierra at Tahoe before the fire torched the resort. Sierra is the Tahoe locals spot off I-50 (sugar bowl for I-80). That old growth forest in west bowl (RIP) huckleberry canyon would’ve given you some of the very best tree skiing and boulders delight.
When you come to visit my Sierra's ALWAYS keep your lens changes in your pack..!! We are close to the ocean so the weather will be different in the afternoon than it is in the morning. Almost always clouds-up late.
Fantastic, I caught myself drooling on that first run down. Powder is usually pretty heavy in California but that looked really good Lucas. You are rockin it this season. Keep it up!
I was at Sugar Bowl all day on 12/12. The Mt Judah side of the mountain had no lines all day and I was still cutting through untracked patches until late in the afternoon. The Mt Lincoln side was busier, but with short lines on Judah I didn't bother to go fight the crowd. Waiting in line does give you a few minutes to rest your legs between runs, but on a super fluffy powder day who wants to rest?
Too bad you didn't make it over to Sugar Bowl. I was keeping an eye out for you and Luna. It was off-the-hook. Then again, everywhere was! Looks like there is some scar tissue from this trip (at least with Luna).
P.S. Hit Kirkwood (you skied Heavenly last year). You won't be disappointed. The only downside, you'll need to come back by Heavenly to drive over Kingsbury Grade to hop on 395 towards Mammoth. Pretty sure Monitor Pass is closed which is the most direct route to 395 from Kirkwood.
@@LucasCatania17 no, probably not... At least not well... The different size thing should have been obvious for me these days. Lovin' the Stoke! If you ever take a trip up to your Canada, I would be more than happy to show you the chutes where I ski at Castle Mountain in southern Alberta! You would love it.
@@LucasCatania17 I hope there is some good notice before you get here! I always have holidays available for skiing! I have it a little thought and it might be that Castle MTN is the ski hill in Canada that is closest to you! If you haven't already locked in your itinerary,I would also highly recommend Fernie, BC. It is my favourite mountain to ski but that has a lot to do with getting better as a skirt a bit later in life. 😉
So I was the guy giving the gears about the Maple Syrup last season, now my next question is when are you coming to Whistler, Epic Pass’ only legit skiers mountains. If you do get here happy to show you the goods.
Well the offer stands……..February 17 is my birthday, I’m only stating this cause my wife may kidnap me for a short trip somewhere. Other than that I work for the Mountain and can get away from time to time and I have my days off usually Friday and Saturday. Wade
Looking at my previous conversations with you and apparently I owe you a hand delivered maple syrup, I’ll be in Quebec in Late January so I’ll pick up the real deal at a local Market.
As a public figure, please try to do better with their name. The old name is racist and was changed for a reason. You have a big platform to help solidify that change, not perpetuate it. Alpine Meadows & Olympic Valley make up Palisades Tahoe.
