The Peugeot 2008 is a key model for the French marque under BERMAZ. While the 3008 & 5008 have been updated to reflect their new minders, the 2008 is the first all-new model since the takeover of the brand. And while Peugeot has an entire portfolio of cars to choose from, this boldly-designed B-segment crossover is what BERMAZ thinks is what the brand needs to make its mark on the local scene.
So with enough safety kit that it won't embarrass itself, a punchy award-winning powertrain and looks to kill, is the Peugeot 2008 just what BERMAZ needs to take a bite out of the B-segment SUV space and let the brand roar again?

Hows the condition ya? Want to buy too asking your opinion 😂

@@SlashOMine it's been very unproblematic. I got it last august and now just exceeded 10k. No major problem just fill tank and drive. Some minor annoyance like front glass fogging, but SC is aware of the issue and already planned for an appointment to check it out. There also seems to be a recall for air cond and suspension mounting my SC want to see. Mine has none of that problem but I'll just let them check. For me the best thing about the car is the driving experience and fuel consumption. Way better comfort than anything in its segment and FC even better than my old myvi, no joke

@@SlashOMine corolla cross not a bad choice either. If you need slightly more space, or wanna go hybrid, it's a good car. 2008 is more focused on driving experience and smaller family.

Noticed when I test drove this car that it does not have cabin lights on the roof for the rear passenger, only front map lights. So it doesnt shine bright enough at night

When the timing belt on that engine snaps - google for 1.2 PureTech timing belt breakage issues - those that bought this will really wish they had ordered an HR-V. (For the record, I've driven both cars, and they aren't as far apart as you might think even in refinement or design.) Excellent review, but French cars are always good to look, not nice to eat. Stay away.

There has been some revisions to 1.2 PureTech, this issue is no longer existent. The driving experience of 2008 is beyond compare, suspension and handling are top-notch
@cubular3000

@@jasonvitagen Do a Google and RU-vid search for yourself. The belt has been revised but the issue is not solved, the timing belt will crumble as long as it is designed to run in oil. Even the French themselves are complaining. As for top notch... well, to each their own, if you can say it is "beyond compare", so be it.

@@cubular3000 We get what we search for, same for pros and cons. The lifespan of the belt in oil has been prolonged following the revision, saying that it is not solved is quite weighted, don't forget that usual timing belts also can deteriorate and snap. Belt in oil just needs extra care for example using the right oil specification and changing on time, if by doing this can reach almost the same lifespan as normal timing belt, it is acceptable. The reason for belt in oil in the first place is for less friction, better engine performance, low operating noise, and reduced fuel consumption.

@@jasonvitagen "We get what we search for" 😂 I didn't need to search for this information when I have a few around me and many out there to back it up. Well, to each his own, and it's your money. I hope your 2008 lasts a long time.
@InnerFire6213
@InnerFire6213 Год назад
@@cubular3000 you have to be driving the car and never service for 5 years for it to snap. They are using new material that doesn't dissolve like the original 2013 belt, and at every service they check the integrity and the size of the belt. Even with the old belt they don't simply break, cracks and disintegration can be seen before it's too late. This engine is so widespread used not only by peugeot but skoda, citroen, vauxhall among others. How many people do you know having this timing belt issues personally? In Malaysia? Or europe?
