@@raphaels33 Ya, Pheramosa was tough in that position. Even if it was Amoongus I think he would have won. I needed his last one to be Dusclops to get the game 2 win. My team wasn’t ideal against Calyrex Ice and Wolfey took advantage of that
Crazy how he continues to dominate in a very meta-definitive game with unusual team comp's you see pros who now are starting to struggle (TenZ) but he's been T1 ever since comp pkmn existed
It’s a hard mon to kill with one hit. He has hacked trickroom versions of them. “ once he had the trickroom set up, he really had a clear path” is what the announcer said. It’s a given, if you get it up. It’s kinda boring really.
this mode has always been available to use in tournaments. You can see this being used in live events pre covid during vgc 2020.. The players cup ones were pre recorded videos sent by the players.
@@lorebanjo8516 The feature is tied to Live competitions under the Victory station in the menu. You'd have to host a competition first and can watch live games using an ID. A max of seven switches can spectate a single game. Only live events. Cant do this for online.
wolf always has a niche pick or five in his team and it honestly makes watching competitive much more fun, when not everyone is using the same core and/or restricted
I would disagree. The first half of game 2 was the last half of game 1. However, that's because thats because his team is a trick room team. The last half of game 2 is wolf using the expectations of his trick room team being so reliant on trick room that he is able to use speed swap to net him the win
Wolfe is crazy good. Always ensures the opponent does the least amount of damage during their Dynamax turns and also builds an excellent team. That speed swap with Ice rider was just crazy. His other matches with weakness policy coalossal is also awesome to watch !
@@xrystofersoule5119 dude the only thing that has been proven is that he hacks in shiny legal pokemon or they are given to him by fans the TPC and all the other tournament moderators haven't seemed to have a problem with it as long as it's not something stupid like Yveltal with geomancy
@@skullguy4863 1. Any modification is strictly forbidden. 2. You are responsible for items and pokemon even if you received them from trades. Read the above rules, he is a cheater. Kurt exposed him on twitter. He had a modified Groudon with 0 speed and a hacked incineroar.
The ridges on Wolfe’s brain for the pure speed control on his team is mental. Last thing I would’ve thought of was to bring back speed swap pher, when I assumed he was gonna attack into either of the opposing Pokémon as a last ditch effort.
Anyone else notice that Chase’s team on the little icons at 12:20 had a Gmax blastoise but a regular rillaboom even though he has a Gmax rillaboom? I wonder if that’s based on his team sheet and he made a mistake or if the person who was doing the icons didn’t remember Gmax rillaboom since they aren’t usually dynamaxed
Tbh, not too surprised at the outcome of this one... Chase's team looks VERY Caly-Ice weak and weak against Trick Room, with 4 of them being weak to Ice. It just goes to town once it's set up. Good effort though, and nice jobs to both players!
@@CT-bh7mx No worries man! It was a very nice battle to watch regardless, and a learning experience for everyone involved and watching. Hopefully you can overcome the TR teams next go-around!
You got the basic weather teams then the niche teams with specific mons for a certain job then you get to whatever works works and I throw random bullshit in it
There are 26 options for each player every turn in VGC under perfect conditions but chess has more potential moves than stars that exist in the known universe... so it's really not even close but I agree that it is still impressive to see someone great do what they do
I fanboyed at Wolfe's team and plays so hard, but.... what's that background music playing during the match previews?! It's so sick. Wish I knew the name
@@snapclub8751 yeah, you could check out pikalytics for this stuff. Palkia isn’t too slow but if you make it as slow as possible it’s a solid trick room mon due to its few weaknesses.
I believe it's because people are abusing the fact that Palkia's speed tier isn't 100 but is sitting in a place where it can effectively be both a centerpiece in both slow mode and fast mode, only investing a few Spe EVs to outspeed some matchups.
TR is everything to me. I'm a bad player, and I got to top 500 in singles with a TR Chandelure team. Love that TR is used in VGC a lot, but I still don't have the balls to play it lol
