Well it’s that time! We performed the break in service on both of our 2022 Polaris Sportsman 570’s. I must apologize, the video is a little longer than I expected or wanted it to be.
Also, this video is a great example of “do what I say, not what I do”, although I’m not too sure I can suggest doing what I say either.

Really enjoy your videos! I appreciate the realism you show when you do stuff. No need to edit out how things truly go as they happen to us all!

Thanks a ton for this video. First service on my wife’s 570 was much smoother thanks to your video. I didn’t have a ball end Allen wrench and that was the key to getting that gear oil fill bolt out!

On the other 570 with the winch I had to remove the winch and bumper to get to it. Still not bad though. Glad you found it useful, thanks for watching and commenting!

@@goodjerm In Wisconsin, we say 4-wheeler...which doesn't really make much sense as...almost all vehicles have 4 wheels, but...that's what I was taught!

@@goodjerm Thank YOU for these videos. I'm gonna take it in to get it serviced the first time, but I feel much more confident about doing the services in the future. It looks so much more simple than I thought.

If you remove the seat you will see the engine oil fill cap is on top of the engine!

Great video. I would have checked the wheel bearings. Ive heard Polaris skimps on the grease there.

Did you have extra problems getting to the demand drive fill plug w/ your atv with a winch? I stripped my plug trying to get it out using a 8mm allen (I didn’t have a ball end allen). Was able to get a T50 to break it loose and get it out. $48 for a new plug🤬, then couldn’t get the angle to get it started to get it back in due to the side winch plate until I tried a torx again and it had enough play to get it started then switched to 8mm. Wish I’d seen your video first.

So that’s actually a long story. The day I chose to do this it was 110 in the shop and I was under a bit of a deadline to get them both done. I started with the premium which doesn’t have a winch, it was a little awkward but as you saw not too bad. By the time I got to the trail that has the winch I was exhausted and suffering from a bit of heat exhaustion (not joking, I wasn’t feeling well) so I didn’t film it. I ended up having to remove the front brush guard and the winch. It wasn’t difficult at all but made the access much, much better. It t maybe worth a follow up video but at the time I was literally about to pass out. Couple of things I’ve learned from this. 1- film everything, regardless how tired you are (within reason). 2- don’t take your health for granted. I know that more than answered your question, but wanted to give the full story as to why we didn’t see that process with a winch in the way. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it very much!

Thanks for the reply. Seems like whenever I decide to do a project on my own, things always turn to crap. So I appreciate you taking the time to film and explain how you are doing things. And the expressions and comments you add make it down to earth and relatable to the average garage mechanic. Using your video for light bar installation now, just waiting on the wiring harness, got 12” bar mounted today.

Learned a little and got a few laughs. How do you keep it so clean?
@goodjerm

The video or the quads? lol. For the quads I use chemical guys wash and a foam cannon. For the videos, well, a lot of editing.

So , is the rear differential the same as the transmission oil change?
@goodjerm
@goodjerm Месяц назад
@@manuelsalgado8510 yes, the rear is part of the transmission on these rigs so there isn’t a separate gear case for the rear, only the transmission.

I don't know how he can say that you will spent almost a thousand dollars on the first service. There is another video where someone is doing the first service and does not mention or make any valve adjustments and if you do it yourself which is quite easy it will not cost even 200 dollars in oils and fluids unless you pay 800 dollars for labor.

What Jack stand do you have the four wheeler on?
@goodjerm
@goodjerm 11 месяцев назад
It was on a Pittsburgh atv lift, but I don’t blame the lift. It probably fell because of the blocks of wood I used to make it lift higher, and the wood moved. Completely my fault.
