I used to be like you, then I got a family wagon shoved up where the sun dont shine... now my back begs for anything thats not mounted to the asphalt... xD
Wow. This is an excellent example of why you guys are perfect together. Timing is impeccable. James is hilarious. A perfect foil for Thomas who is also hilarious. I agree with Chris Harris; the future is in good hands…
'It does what Porsches do. It deletes the corner' 😆 Great review guys! We drove this thing a few days ago as well and honestly this is the absolute KING of SUVs. It really does corner, accelarate and even sounds like a supercar,it's beyond believe. Well done Porsche,AGAIN 👏
When your b roll channel is making better videos/reviews than most other channels, you know you’re doing something right. Congrats on the nuptials, by the way!
Although it was very controversial when it came out, but now everyone has to admit that Porsche absolutely nailed it. This thing is nuts. It almost defies physics. It is really expensive, but that's only because of the really expensive corner-deletion option. Let's call it ECD 😉
It's spectacular but you can't ignore that it costs more than a 911 GT3. They're looking for a very specific buyer with this thing (someone who already has a GT3, has no budget whatsoever, & wants their family car to be super fun too).
I love my Cayenne GTS, which has almost 200 HP less than this one, is about $100k less, & close enough to as fast as the Turbo GT, so I can only imagine how insane this beast of an SUV is with all that extra power. Porsche makes the best SUV’s in the biz in my opinion, which I confidently say after driving most of their competition as well. Great review! 👍
I have a regular Macan and love it (just ordered a Macan S). I agree they make some of the best SUV’s in the biz. My Macan handles wayyyy better than my Tesla M3P. And all Porsche interiors are amazing.
I love my Audi SQ7, which has 50HP more than Cayenne GTS, two more seats, is about $30K less, and faster. 😄 Just kidding, the two have different personalities.
Last year I picked up a low miles 2014 Cayenne Turbo S for $40k. 550 hp and the killer feature PDCC - Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control - a hydraulic anti-sway system. This car corners with zero body roll and it can pull a 6,000 pound trailer with ease.
Really interesting hearing your comments about the Macan. Confirms what I experienced. I test drove various Macans no less that 4 times over the years. Including a 24-hour-take-it-home-and-live-with-it test drive. I'm a diehard Porsche fan, but I just couldn't figure out what everyone loved so much about the Macan. Ended up buying an RS 5 as my family hauler.
I almost bought this exact car. It’s for sale right now at Pfaff Porsche. Once I realized this was the press car everyone bagged I bailed and ordered a new one. I never comment but funny story I thought I’d share.
My 2012 Cayenne Turbo was 121K, I had no regrets driving the sh/t out of it for 10 years. Mils mods brought my HP up to 700'ish. Surprisingly, I had very little break on it.
@@andrewduong2740 Second gen Panamera took one of the ugliest sedans in the super luxury segment and made it tied for the best looking with the Quattroporte.
I"m sure this is amazing, but I just got a 22 Cayenne S fully loaded with all the sport options and I feel like I can get the same experience on the road at a fraction of the cost. It's the LC500 of SUVs.
Respectfully disagree on the Macan. Drive a fully equipped 2022 GTS @ 80% in the canyons. Then take it to some fd up roads in comfort. The jekyll hyde is downright impressive
I don't often disagree with you guys, but I have to disagree with your comments about the Macan. I recently picked up my 2022 Macan S, and it is a sublime car.
They dont use a pdk because the cayenne can still be used to tow and off road which a dual clutch trans sucks at, and the converter trans still shifts super fast
The Cayenne does not use a PDK because dual clutch transmissions cannot creep and therefore are hopeless off road. The point of the cayenne is absolute vehicular supremacy, it has to be the consumate all-rounder. I think Porsche needs to do what Honda did with the ILX, a dual clutch with a torque converter between the clutches and the engine.
Porsche has an amazing way of providing a complete driving experience. I had a 17 gts cayenne and it wss a 6 cylinder twin turbo and man was it Hella fun to just drive..I found myself volunteering to drive anywhere and everywhere. It was such a joy to drive and it felt like a fast v6..never did it feel like there isn't enough power..the pickup and go was amazing and the handling was better than most cars..the inside from the Alcantara to the leather and feel was awesome. Really miss that car. The best driving experience you don't feel like you are driving a suv totally feels like a fast agile car. The Cayenne Coupe GT ia definitely my dream SUV however I would probably get a GTS Coupe since it's slightly more affordable.
When I first was getting into automotive stuff and didn't understand how much better cars were (momma's boy, grew up in SUVs) the Cayenne was the first vehicle I ever fell in love with. I was always amazed by the Cayenne Turbo S back in the day, and it's remained at the top of its class dynamically ever since.
I’m somewhat surprised you guys don’t like the Macan more. I haven’t driven the newest Cayenne and Macan, but I’ve spent a lot of time with a 2016 Macan Turbo and a 2017 Cayenne Turbo and I really like them both, but I think I like the Macan more. The biggest difference for me is the transmission. The Cayenne has a good transmission, the PDK in the Macan is god tier. The 5200 rpm launch with the Macan is sure fun too.
That's the thing with Porsches, they make "supercar" level SUVs that the average person would never suspect being one. I'm legit the only car fanboy in my team, and I could turn up to work in one of these and no one would know lol Whereas everyone would be staring at you if you drove an Urus. This is the Super SUV for the people who do not want to be noticed. As a car enthusiast, I always stare at them whenever I cross one though haha
This basically fits in well as a Porsche, people go to work and you pass see them around and they never look silly, even the 911 GT3 RS doesn't look as ridiculous for what it is. Lovely cars.
Who wants this car? Someone who wants ultraperformance and outstanding quality in a very stealthy invisible package. The only people who will know what this is on the road are other Porsche owners. Like most Porsches. Little flash, amazing quality and a joy to drive.
Porsche is really killing the game... 911 TurboS destroyed everything 3x it's value and now this crazy beast😎👌 Considering only like 25 years ago there were almost bankrupt... Properly made cars
Super SUVs are great imo, they’re really fast as fast as some Supercars while being well insulated and relatively comfortable. It’s a win win and also plenty of space for 4-5 grown adults
When I test drove the turbo GT (the only one at a Porsche dealer in Indiana, maybe the midwest) I was told it got the ZF because of the extra weight and power. I was going to buy a Cayenne GTS, but wound up getting a Macan because trading in my Panamera, I couldn't give up that PDK. I don't regret my decision but if I had the extra cash, that Turbo GT would be mine. Maybe in 7 years!
@@tysonandrus It's very good but they did a really . .REALLY good job with the transmission in your GTS as well. They also tune very well, I know Eurocharged and a host of others have gotten that Cayenne ZF to do some amazing things, especially as the power numbers start creeping up towards the insane.
In defense of my Macan, I wanted a good handling four door car with some ground clearance to drive down an occasional dirt road. I'm a single dad, so I didn't need cargo space or a big back seat.
