The likes of Haval, Chery, Proton, Baic are really excelling in the SUV segment, I hope they soon tap into the hatchbacks segment and offer the value for money they are offering. It would be nice to have cheaper alternatives of the VW Polo.
Ola mjita👍...this is a great car indeed, and the well established manufacturers are frowning at introduction of this well balanced product. When I look at this car I think of things like the VW T-roc, Hyundai Kona and the Mazda CX-30 to name a few. All of these cars are overpriced for what they offer and the Proton is priced just right. That interior looks like it taken from a 1 million rand BMW, those seats are those you'll find on AMGs .... Plus that VOLVO engine is a big seller for this car😎👏...

The way I feel about Proton is the way I felt about Haval when it first came to SA. I know they're a returning brand but I still have my doubts. My only piece of mind is that Volvo engine🤔... all that said it looks nice, especially with the quad exhaust pipes🔥
Last time I saw a Proton it was 2008 the Gen 2. Didn't think it will return back in RSA. Am impressed with the interior and exterior 🥵 lol the quad pipes are a turning head for me 😅. And lastly great review MrHowmuch 😁👌🏾

It's not often that I personally comment on a brand negatively but if there is one brand that deserves it in every way it is Proton.. There is not one compelling positive in this brands favour.. The cars are dated poorly priced and there is not the back up of the competitors...The dealer network is limited there is no Maintenance plan as standard and there is no logical reason to consider one... The name Saga defies logic.. How is your Proton Saga? Think about that. I did go in a test of the, X50 at festival of motoring and I will say that it was a very pleasant vehicle. The challenge is the brand failed in SA previously and it will be no different this time. The re sale value will be a disaster and that is a given.. Chery Haval OMODA BAIC are better products in every respect. If asked to give one compelling reason to buy a Proton... Its because you lost a bet and you want to do the honourable thing.
Actually X50 falls in the Cross Over segment whilst Haval H6 and Chery Tiggo Pro8 are SUVs...the natural competitors for this car is the Opel Mokka...as good as it is it cant beat the Chinese SUVs with price and spec,I'd rather keep my Haval H6 Ultra Luxury HEV,its a bit pricier but it is a million miles ahead of the Malaysians
