I'm glad this helped you!! And thank you for the recommendation on the Naga X! I did not realize Razer made mice with that option anymore... the temptation to purchase it is very strong...
Corsair scimitar for about 4 years and it’s finally time to replace it. Used to the side buttons so I went with the razer naga pro. So much better. One, it’s newer, and two, it’s more tactile to me. Much better grip on it with my medium small hands.
My RAZER NAGA PRO's middle scroll mouse failed after 6 months. It happened twice on 2 new copies of the NAGA. I wish you have a better experience with yours, but I had to ask you how is the Scimitar's software? If you set up macro's for a few applications - will the Scimitar be able to automatically change it's profile to fit the application you're in? (photoshop / after effects etc?) +Also, does the Scimitar has a "Hypershift" button like the Razer NAGA PRO has? to double up your macro button count?
@@eladbari i didn’t really use the scimitar for macros, I just rebinded the numbers to different keys. I wouldn’t know but my guess is no. The software isn’t on par with the synapse in my opinion
@@eladbari no hypershift function that I’m aware of. I had the scimitar for years and would go in to the software on rare occasion but the few times I did use it I thought it was sub par. I’ve only had the razer naga for a few weeks but the software is superior. I wasn’t aware of the synapse ability to switch profile depending on software but it fits with what I’ve seen so far. Synapse > scimitar
@@the_homie_alfred Thanks for confirming! So software on the Razer is better. But Razer's hardware keeps failing like clockwork. Goddamn. The Scimitar and Aerox 9 also have problems. I only heard about this other utechsmart Venus mouse, which seem cheaper, yet, people quite praise...
@5:30 - Important point about settings being saved onto the mouse's hardware. I got a NAGA PRO wireless, and I think if the Synapse app doesn't have internet access- then you're not able to utilize all your macros, which is awful. I wonder if Scimitar is the only option out there for a 12 side button MMO mouse that saves it all onto the hardware. Razer's NAGA can remember profile settings / macros for softwares like Adobe After Effects / Davinci, and it switches automatically to that profile when I switch to the right app, and I wonder if Corsair's Scimitar has that feature as well. It's super important.
I use my naga pro for personal pc and work laptop and I found that if you setup macros, add the profile to the onboard memory, then have the mouse wired, your macros will work without synapse.
@@the_homie_alfred Thanks for your kind feedback. So, is there a single profile on the NAGA that has an onboard memory? (I'm on the "white" profile by default). +I guess the fact the NAGA is wired- is what helps it remember macros without the Synapse? Man, It's my 2nd NAGA PRO (V1) which has a failed middle scroll wheel (it randomly actuates x2 even x3 times and it's annoying when trying to open links in a new tab- it opens x2). So, I wonder if the V2 version doesn't have that malfunction, or if we gotta kiss Razer goodbye and try to choose another brand. Problem is, it seems like other brands are also short on some features (like Hypershift button, or being able to automatically shift the appropriate profile you setup as you swap between application. Synapse sees on which software you're in, and can switch to your pre-saved profile).
@@eladbari if you click on the little icon to the right of the profile name it’ll show you the slots that are onboard. They’ll be empty so you then drag the profile underneath to any of the open slots. And no problem 🤝
@@the_homie_alfred If that's true and there is onboard memory, then I don't understand why people do report to be missing features when synapse isn't on.
Have you tried the Logitech G600? I think its a good inbetween mouse where you can store settings on the mouse, the mouse wheel can be pressed left and right like the Naga, it's formfactor is also somewhere in between I think and it has an extra right click for middle/pinkie finger.
@@McDudesit's not manufactured anymore though.. since 2022 I read. I'm in the process of buying a mouse and the G600 was perfect! Just not sold anymore..
I had the Razer mouse for like 3 months and the number pad pins just stopped working. I feel like im forced to replace it with another razer product because my headset is razer... and I dont want to install more software. So I think I will have to get the razer and buy some warranty on top. Also my mmo is ffxiv too! I main dancer though.
Same thing I had the Naga Pro and my 12 button side pad stopped working too. I owed it for less than a year, I can replace it with the other ones but I want the 12 one. I am waiting for any brand to launch a wireless mmo mouse that is not razer I am done with that brand for failing in me within a year. The naga wasn’t the first but will be the last
You know that Epic Rap Battles of History: Obama vs Mitt Romney? Well, SwiftpointZ is like Abraham Lincoln. I don't even understand how you even need 30 minutes to talk about the "differences" in essentially what is the same approach. Maybe there are longetivity issues true in one that are apparently in the up front design, maybe not. Still, both are trash.
My Corsair mouse worked perfectly fine day 1... isn't it more likely you just received a defective one? Unfortunately, defects are part of life when mass producing products...
Oh, now you tell me! The hardware on mine seems fine (today is day 1) but the software filled me with blind rage for a while. I _think_ I'm finally happy with my light scheme and button layout.
