The head looks great, the colors are nice… but I’m a little let down it’s on the smaller body they’re using for the first appearance spider-man. Especially since it doesn’t get the new toe hinges they got for the upcoming two pack Spider-Man.
The Amazing Fantasy mold works nicely, has a cleaner looking diaphragm cut, and they actually filled in the holes in his arms for the web wings! It has all the accessories it should. If they do this but without the cell shading, and maybe an unmasked head, I think it would be near perfect. Instant buy for every Legends collector.
Now this is the Spider-Man I’d rather have as my main display piece. The renew your vows spidey looks good, but I like the brighter colors and eyes way more on this version. Pinless 🤘
This is awesome! I missed out on the first releases and now they're WAY too expensive so this will be some nice catchup for me. I also really hope they re-release the other first few figures in this cell shaded look since the animated series is the main one I grew up with.
I think venom is the only other cel shaded figure they've released. Hobgoblin is in the animated colors but not shaded (and I think is still available).
@@jarethbadillo8421 right, I was only mentioning he's the only other cel shaded fig, not that they shouldn't make more :) The animated colors hobgoblin just came out in the recent retro line and should still be available at retail if you hunt for it.
This animated series was what got me into Spider-Man as a kid so when I saw this video I FREAKED I get why people don’t like the cell shading but mine is staying in the packaging so it’s not an issue for me. Cheers!
I remember before I thought if Hasbro would release Spider-Man based on the 90s animated series. And here you are, a surprise and it is. This figure looks beautiful, and is even very clean, because it is pinless. By the way, Spider-Man TAS is my favorite series of this iconic and legendary Marvel superhero.
LOVE it. I hope this is a sign they are going to lean in hard on the animated series figs. So glad the retro waves exist so I can still see my figures when they are MOC
Would have preferred the 2 pack body mold since Peter in the animated series was built like a truck. I get he's not extremely tall and is only 5'10 but this buck is better suited for an earlier teen Spider-Man where he was like 5'7. The 2 pack one is Spider-Man in his prime, which animated series Peter was
This is a really cool figure. I feel that the body should be a little more broad and muscular because for some reason everyone was jacked in the Animated Series, but overall this is a great Spider-Man. It's one of those figures where I would buy it to keep it in the packaging, since it works out perfectly with the art.
@@ssm840 Despite his inaccurate slimness, this figure wouldn't look too bad size-wise next to the Animated Venom. The only thing throwing that figure off it how huge his head is compared to Spider-Man's. lol
Nice fig! I used to have the OG multi pose Spider Man (in the early-mid ‘90’s). That was cool, but this one? Awesome all around. And kudos to Hasbro for letting you do the early release!!
I love how this one sold out immediately too. Can’t wait for this to go for $100 aftermarket as well, and classic Marvel Legends Spider-Man figures will continue to be unattainable for a reasonable price 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Bro I was so fucking pissed. I waited hours for the preorder, checked Walmart, nothing. Googled the figure, nothing. Had to ask for a fucking link ONLY TO FIND IT SOLD OUT. It's been a few days and I'm STILL SO FUCKING PISSED. Sorry for the rant. I'm just extremely salty
Okay, as much as Unlimited had some general misfires, the setup for the show itself was top-notch regarding both animation and characterization! It’s a shame we never had a good figure for the costume, as like the Sensational suit, its greatness is determined by the finer details that surround it. Rino Romano also needs more rep! That said lol, I’m not so sure this figure has the right body type. Animated Series Spidey is extremely buff compared to most adaptions of the character, so I’m not so sure how I feel about it, especially compared to the full retro or even Spidey UK molds. The shading is definitely great tho
Feel like NECA toon line turtles get cell shading right were many others seem to do it as almost an afterthought. I do dig this figure over all and hope to get him as well as The Lizard.
I know this is meant to be 90's animated Spider-man, but I'm getting this guy to finally complete my Spectacular Spider-man display, he's shorter and leaner than the current mold, and the eyes and logos are nearly exact
You see this is why I kind of want to get two of them, wanted to keep as normal animated series Spider-Man and maybe one to make into a comic book Spider-Man cuz that body mold is amazing. My opinion it looks better than the retro wave body
Upon finding out that it's a retooling of the first appearance Spider-Man; explains the height, I wish it was a little taller though. Perhaps some leg swapping is in order?
The cel shading stye with the shadows looks great in the package but it poses so poorly. Zero paint on the back- how is this cel shaded? Just contract out the design to NECA already. If they did it right, these would look so amazing. The Mondo 1/6th Wolverine is one of the coolest figures I have ever seen.
Man, just when I thought Lizard was the last piece I needed for the line and I would have all the classic characters, Hasbro drops this. I really hope they make enough of this and Lizard so everyone can get a preorder.
First off, amazing review and awesome channel! I actually disagree with a lot of the kids on here complaining about his body size. Yes, the animated series made him look beefy but so was everyone else on that show, even Black Cat! It was just the 90s style at the time! That doesn't mean it would have translated well to figure form. This figure makes him look fantastic, muscular yet lithe. You guys can keep your dreams of bloated, barrel chested, over roided out Spidey if that makes ya happy. This is a definite win for me.
I mean, it looks cool, but they really should have used the Renew Your Vows Spidey body for an Animated Series Spidey, he was yoked in the Animated Series and using the slim Amazing Fantasy body doesn't give him that feel from the show
The link is working guys and don’t waver once you get the page going keep adding it to your cart until it goes through and you’ll get it I got mine already!
couple years ago Walmart had an exclusive mandalorian figure that was online. Was up for a few days and I still got my order in. Never sold out. They delivered. Expect this to be the same. They prob have it either made to order or just a ridiculous amount considering the character.
Watched your video and thank you for the great info!!!! Just ordered one at Wal-Mart. I typed in Spider-Man legends and searched through about 50 results before seeing it!!
Might buy this and have it be my main Spidey but I dislike how narrow the red part of the waist is but that's due to the TAS and the partial cell shading is a tad bit annoying.
For anyone who can't find the link or it just didn't work for you, it's because Walmart removed the page entirely, due to it selling out. It's a shame, especially for such a good looking figure.
I like the deco and the pin less stuff, you can use a bit of sticky tack to adhere to surfaces with the web effects, but the height is a bit off putting.
The head sculpt, eyes, and colors are perfect but the smaller body mold and cell shading ruin it for me. Super dope but I'll pick up the retro Lizard and CW Black Panther from Walmart instead
Was debating on canceling this and ordering the first appearance, but they seem to be on the same body mold, plus I stayed up all night to get this version.
this looks great! finally an actually bright red and blue spider-man 🤩 my only real nitpick is since its on the to-be-released new first appearance spidey mold,,its using the old disk hinge for the neck compared to the dumbell joint system of the first retro figure ( its more of personal preference ik but i do like the extra neck movement from the dumbell joint especially for spidey )
This is a must have for me. My first Spider-Man figure was the McDonald’s Spider-Man the animated series figure then I was hooked! I’m going to need him in my collection
i just realised how a spider sense effect/ extra headsculpts wouldve been better had he come with that and not some extra paint under his arms where they may not be seen and some webs that you have to fudge in to get some use out of it, but other than that, this will be the definitive spider man figure for me
Can't wait to not get this. Any special packaged figures seem to not be shipped to NZ. And I refuse to pay double for online shipping and then wait like three months for it to show up.
Proportions look way off. Quick Google search is all you need to see that the body is all wrong. The main red section on the figure looks too skinny because Hasbro made his chest too small. The animated design is very stocky and this figure doesn't capture that at all.
Great video, Got to say that I'm not a massive fan of the Web accessories. In my opinion to the red abdomen paiting seems a little too thin 🤷♂️ I prefer how the previous releases was painted. They should of just stuck a new head on the old release and changed the blue to a lighter shade. I maybe wrong it might look better in person
i appreciate that walmart and target want to give special stuff to us collector cons, but these events are always shit with availability and roll out and walmart and target both cancel orders. I hope everyone who wants one can get it
