Thank you so much for this review sir! I’m going to buy one. I can’t even get signal through my garage door 20ft inside the house with my current temp probe unit.
Just paid $40 dollars. Have not used it yet. I saw a post where the guy said he puts the monitor in front of his home security camera so he can monitor from anywhere. I just wanted to share that. I thought that was a great idea.
Thank you for the great review! I got tired of my Masterbuilt's 4 built in probes. They have the lifespan of a fruit fly, aren't very accurate, and you need to install a phone app from hell to use them. This looks way better, and takes AAA batteries of which I have many rechargeables. Thanks again!
I've been looking at a few Thermo Pro thermometers, I was a little dissapointed that you didn't cover the Hi Lo featrue. I did see that it was shown on probe 2. Hopefully this could be programed on either probe. I was looking at another model that was reversed of this one you did all the programable on device you left at the smoker. I prefere this one for the reason that you program on the device you keep with you., This is $30 less and I think I would prefere it. I have had 2 Enzoo thermometers, the devices themselves are very nice, but the probes seem to fail easily. If they ever get caught in a flame up their gone. Hopefully these will be better.
I just picked up one on sale on Amazon. I mainly wanted something for overnight smokes to alert me of large temp changes. Do you still like it? I was between this and the Smoke X by ThermoWorks. I’d rather have the Smoke X but the price difference is pretty large. I was also looking at the inkbird but didn’t like that it operates only on 2.4ghz WiFi and that the phone alerts might not be too persistent. I mainly just wanted something with a loud enough alarm to alert me if my grill is catching on fire or loses temp due to a pellet jam etc on overnight smokes.
Buy a magnetic hook. Attach that to your smoker and hang transmitter on the hook. My guess is they didn’t put magnets on the transmitter because it’s plastic and will melt.
Actually it came out real good, I wrapped it 170 and got it to 205, put it in a cooler for couple hrs, I think the temperature probe was the key, but tasted good and real moist and tender
Bought this from Amazon. First delivery arrived with 2 probes missing, returned back to shipper. Replacement arrive with all probes, but no warranty card or instruction booklet. This same company also ships for WalMart. Love the product, shipper sucks ass. Next time, I will buy directly from ThermonPro. What does the “PROG” mean on your screen?
