I didn't on this particular test but I have done it. It sets off an audible alarm on your phone.

Go to the profiles, hit the + sign and you can set whatever you want.

I've used it on a 14hr brisket and it was still running so plenty long for most uses.

Used it again on a tri tip last night on the Weber. Worked like a champ. It has a ton of features in the app.

Does the app have a low setting for the grill temp that will alert you when grill temp gets to low? Do you have to keep app open all the time for it to work or can you put in background and use your phone for other things and it still give alearts?

Thermopro has two apps. One for the TP25 and one for all the Tempspike probes. The app for the TP25 has an alarm for target temp but not low temp. The Tempspike app has both. The base unit will give alerts without the phone but the base unit has to be with the smoker since it's limited to the length of the probe wire.

Does the lid of the grill not burn the probe wires when it's closed? I would like to try this

The probe wires are braided metal and don't burn. My pellet grill has a small hole on the side to run the probe through, so the lid doesn't sit on it. On the kamado, there is a gasket on the lid and it doesn't burn.
