I feel like I am going to have a needle collection for this bike haha. So far I am moving to a NEDW in the bike and I have a NECJ/NOZI to test as well. But just going to the NEDW is a huge difference in the neighborhood.
Hello, This was done when I took it back to the dealer for the updated starter issue. CPD is my parts supplier and here is the part #CPD.000.001 it is only $29.99
I had thought about doing the JD kit but $80 is a lot for a couple needles and jets. For now the NEDW needle has really changed how the bike rides I am very happy with it. As for the S3 head what would be the advantage. The Riejus are using the high compression GP head. I am actaully looking at doing the low comp head for more bottom end torque
@@pharettface Hello, They sell two S-3 heads, one is higher comp. one is lower. They say the stock head has hot spots? I will keep you posted, when I get the new head on her.
Interesting about the map switch ,once I put a different needle in , I didn't/could'nt use the "sun "map in the tighter single track.I put a NEDW triple taper needle from a Suzuki Rm .What a difference ,mid range is ballistic while keeping the bottom end awesome .I only use the "sun " map when I'm in the open. On delivery of my bike ,the air screw was 41/2 turns out .Indicating the pilot was too big .I put a 40 pliot ,2nd clip from top (needle) .You may be at a higher elevation so the 42 pilot may be ok for you .Use your air screw to tune in your pilot jet .Theyre awesome bikes ,but you need to dial them in .Good luck
Right now I am running 40 pilot 165 main position 2 on the needle two truns out on the screw. It's so close. Yesterday I threw in the NEDW and huge difference just around my neighborhood. The map difference is crazy to me haha of all the bikes I've owned the map switch is usually so mild I don't bother using it.
@@pharettface Awesome .Be careful about going too lean on the main. Your air screw will let you know if the pilot is ok You're on top of it .Another thing I did was removed the seat cover and reshaped the seat foam,Lowered the seat 25mm (1 inch) made a heap of difference for this "short ass".Once they're dialled they're awesome
At 9-10k feet above sea level the 165 main still felt on the rich side. At 7k feet it feels about perfect. You never really win here haha. I am on the edge with the pilot I am 2.5 turns out so more to play with there. The NEDW has been a huge improvement for the powerband as a whole. Have you played with the power valve at all?
@@pharettface My bad ,being at that elevation would demand leaner jetting .At 21/2 turns out try a 38 pilot and turn the screw in .The 165 main should be close .Yes ,turn the power valve spring in a quarter of a turn to delay it opening and makes it smooth.I have gone the extra step of fitting an S3 extreme low comp head and a flywheel weight ,.It is now pretty much impossible to stall, but still lights up in the mid range .Any gas gas part from 18-20 will fit the reiju .There are plenty of performance parts out there .Have a look at Trialendurodirect (English) and Enduropro.com (Italian) or CPR .com (USA) They have heaps of racing parts including low seats.Im in Australia ,where distance and a shitty exchange rate is a PITA, but you guys will do a lot better.Of course you would only make these mods to your personal bike not your rental fleet...lol
