I bought a 1991 DR350S back in 1995 and sold it in 2006. Never should have sold it! I wish they still made this model, it seemed to be the perfect engine size. It was torquey, but would also rev great, so it worked well on the freeway also.
I love the Acerbis tank. Its got a nice shape to it, its nice and narrow where it needs to be so you can squeeze it with your legs. No trapped fuel, it has two fuel taps and I have the fuel lines routed where I can drain every last drop.
i didn't know this little bike was so good,,i just bought one today for $2500 in great condition, its a 97 and looks perfect ,,you know when you buy something alway go and check videos of it in RU-vid 😊,,its good to read really good comments of this bike 🙂👍
Got my 97 two years ago with 18 k miles for 1500 ride it almost every day my only ride work and play , runs great uses no oil no smoke just solid reliability 😎
I had the predecessor, the 400 DRS from 1981 and it's a great bike, I did 105,000 KMS with it, before selling it Very good off road too, I never broke down! Now I have 2x 350DRS, one stock and the other enduro tuned And 2x 600 and 1x 800 😄
I have a 1991 DR 350 and bought it 3 years ago for $ 400 . and its in great shape . I just slapped on some new tires and I have been riding the shit out of it (ha)! glad I have it !!
They are great bikes. I have a 2012 Super Tenere that I was riding offroad a lot. The more used to it I became the harder I rode it and in worse places. Then it occurred to me that one drop at any sort of speed would cost $1000 easy. So I bought a 91 DR350. I had to do a bit of work (carb rebuild, wheel bearings, fuel shutoff, general tuning and adjusting, etc). It is a superb trail bike. It is very forgiving of error and, although the susp. is not first rate, it does the job. The motor is wonderfully torquey, transmission and clutch seem bulletproof, and it is insanely easy to maintain. I have two sets of sprockets and with the low set on it is a tractor, with the tall set, a superb commuter and still good on trails. Parts are dirt cheap and easy to get (all 5 wheel bearings and seal were $38). I ride in northern NY in winter (when the roads are clear) and it is tough to start at 25F but 2-3 kicks at 40F. It is a joy to trail ride this in snow because it is so light (less than half the weight of the tenere) you can just throw it around. Definitely a keeper! Great vid of some nice riding!
The DR350 is hands down the most versatile machine out there! Thanks for watching! Definitely check out my other videos showing where I've been with this bike.
Great bikes aren't they? It's the one bike Suzuki should have kept in their line up imo. Nothing wrong with a DRZ, but the simple old DR to me with the six speed was the better of the two. I owned a 95 since new, and still regret selling it. Yeah the suspension wasn't very good, and it had a CV carb, and some on and off clutch issues but a great all around dual sport bike. I've put thousands into my 650 to make it better,,sure its faster but the 350 was more fun. I may have to get another.:)
I'm buying one of these this weekend it's a '95 DR350SE (electric start) I'm 41 and this will be my first bike I think it's a good choice. Originally wanted a DRZ400 but can't find one that isn't $3000
Sicko Traveye, did you ever commit to the DR 350, that's what I paid for my '97 DR 350se I bought it in excellent condition, keep it that way, and it pays me back every day with its air cooled simplicity and bullet proof reliability, that was back in 2012 I bought it, and i'd still hand out $3000 for it, without hesitation ! ive put 20,000 miles on it myself since then and the majority on dirt, it's NEVER left me stranded..
Your English is fine my friend. The WR250r is a great bike. Produces similar power to the DR, but you need to rev the motor more. The DR350 acts like a tractor. You can lug the DR in any gear. However, the WR is a little lighter, but the modern frame and suspension make it feel much much lighter. Both are great performing, true 50/50 capable bikes, but the WR is much more modern. Also, both bikes can do 100-110kph all day on the highway.
hello! very good video, I have a question: I have the same bike (DR 350 SE) but does not lift weelie as tulla only rises at first, we changed the transmission or ... I do not ????
i got a dr350se and from the looks of ur vid I ride on about the same stuff as you do, so what rear tire do u run? I got a Pirelli mt43 and need something new it doesn't do good in the mud
Yeah the guy pretty much made the thing a bush bike, he tok all lights off of it except for the headlight, the headlight is currently not hooked up but it is on the bike. He bought from an actual motorcycle dealer so they probably sold it to him in great condition or else there reputation would not be very good. I am going to go have a look at it in the next couple days. I'll let you know if I end up getting it.
I was tripping, hard, on how much those woods at the beginning look like where I'm from in Connecticut. Then you're on the highway and I notice the blue license plates, left lane lurkers and that you're on 8. Nice! What area are you from? I grew up in West Hartford but am in California now, looking to pick up a DR350SE. Fun looking bike
Hey! Yeah they were MICHELIN T63 front and rear. They were decent 60/40 tires, but I think they are discontinued. I'd go with the Tusk Dsports for a DOT knobby, but they will probably be pretty noisy. Anytime I go on the freeway now, I always wear earplugs!
Been debatin on gettin a Dr650 or a Dr350. 350 is 80-85 pounds lighter has 35 hp six gears and every so often you can find one in great shape for $1500-$2000. I live in the hills and a dual sport just makes sense. I lean toward the 350 but I eventually want to adventure tour and being 6'2' 240 I think the 650 is the way to go. Although I could just pick up a 650 down the road. Thoughts? Anyways, awesome vid! Loved the whoops
Thanks! Both 650 and 350 are great bikes. The nice thing about the 650 is that they are still in production. Plus the 650 has the worlds largest aftermarket selection. But the weight savings on the 350 make it a superior trail/track bike.
@@papatorr3669 I bought a WR250R and a KTM350 EXC F after the DR350. Both are big upgrades over the DR. But I still think about the DR, especially for long adventure rides.
@@enduro_alex I'll soon be 65, and have been a street only rider since 1975. So off-road riding is new to me and the DR350 is more capable than I am and it's plenty tall so none of those newer taller bikes for me. I plan to lower the DR350 2 in.
There's a whole thread dedicated on advrider to just the fuel line routing. Just google dr350 fuel line routing. Haha. I personally have a brass T connection with one line routed behind the carb
I thought these bikes had loads of torque how come it didn't make it up that hill? Were you in first gear at the end? I do notice your tires are more toward dual sport instead of dedicated dirt tires. I'm thinking of trading my CR125 for a 91 DR350. My bike is in better shape but still I just might do it.
Not the greatest tires or skills! LOL Back in the day, I would run T63 tires at 24PSI. Absolutely nuts! Nowadays, gummy rear at 12PSI. I think I was in 2nd gear at the end just trying to clutch it up but there was zero traction.
Alex can you help me? I ride a Yamaha DT 125oder and i would like to buy a DR 350 or WR 250 R as my next bike. I like the WR a lot but I'm afraid of that it doesn't have enough power for the street. I hope you know what I mean, because I'm from Germany and my english isn't perfect :D
Hey, just wondering, what tyres are you running? Looking to get some enduro type tyres on my road legal dr350 but not sure what the best would be? Thanks
Tires I use regularly: 100% offroad - Kenda Trackmasters 50/50 Road/offroad - Michelin T63 75/25 Road/offroad - Shinko 244 These tires represent the best value in their target usage in my opinion.
Awesome bike! I'm buying a '94 last month, I think first SE model. It has a short gearset but it heat 80 miles/h and i'm not sure if it was the final top speed. I prefer go around with calm in mountain's streets and see new landscape... Amazing machine! Where is this places? Looks nice
@@enduro_alex I know I live in Waterbury. But where was the dirt area you where riding at where those concrete pipes where at. And is it still assessable to bike's as you know riding areas are far and few between
I swear as soon as the vid came on I said "those thin woods remind me of Connecticut". I worked there restoring power after Sandy. You ever tried shitting in woods like that? No privacy at all!
@@enduro_alex which wr did you end up with? I was going to buy a new wr250 but I have a friend selling one of these really cheap. Now I'm torn. I'm just getting back intk riding so I don't necessarily want to spend a bunch, but I also want something that is decent.
@@Alex9501950 2014 Yamaha WR250R. Both are great bikes for what they do - 50/50 type riding. The WR is slightly lighter and has better suspension, brakes and ergonomics. Engine power is pretty close with the WR having more top and and the DR having more bottom end grunt.
@@enduro_alex awesome man. Yhanks for the reply. I think I'm gonna pick up the dr350 just because it's too good of a deal to pass up. I'll probably end up with both lol.
@@enduro_alex where in CT are you? I'm going to look at a 94 tomorrow, I have a CBR600f4 rn so it will be a different experience lol, but I just moved to the woods. Found one in Massachusetts im hoping to buy.
@@enduro_alex Title is there, guys owned it for 2 years, needs a cam chain. About 300in parts all together, I rode it (cam chain rattles) it rode nice felt strong still. Owner stated it has a forged piston and titanium valve springs that are less than a year old. He wanted 1800 we settled at $1600 not afraid to build anything. It started right up and rode, new tires. 17k miles. Picking it up today.
@@4.8Flatbed Congrats! Timing chain might be a tough job which will probably require removing the engine from the frame. Those kinda projects you have to try to line up for the winter!
