As usual another very entertaining & informative video, I always look forward to them, hence me being subscribed! I love your style of presention & it's always great to find a new video of yours to watch over a nice cup of tea! None of the following is intended as criticism, Ol' Man, I have huge respect for all you've done, & your opinion matters to me like it does to all of your thousands of other recipients, but like you - I just have to tell you how I found it. I had my Himalayan for just less than one year, & although I loved it - I really did - it just wasn't the ideal bike for me. Let me say at the start, this wasn't all down to the bike, it was just as much me, my preferences, build, experience, but this is what I found. Standing at a compact height of 5'9", although I had no problem whatsoever in putting both feet down at a standstill, I found the weight distribution too top heavy. For example, trying to push it backwards & forwards in order to be able to reverse it back into my garage where it would be ready for my next outing, I really struggled. If I'd have been a few inches taller, it might have been better, but as it was, I didn't have the confidence I could always do it without it falling on me, so in the end, I just feathered it into position on the throttle. Secondly, I found the brakes very weak, in fact, I changed the pads to ones that our national dealer recommendesd as an upgrade, but even that didn't do much. Thirdly, the CEAT tyres were not confidence inspiring, nylon based tyres (in my humble opinion) are nowhere near as good as the fantastic Michelin Road 5 I now have as standard on my new Honda CBF, they just don't compare. However, having said that, despite my on-& -off of 55 years in the saddle, I am not very experienced in off-road riding, yes - I've done some & with no problems at all, but nowhere near as much as I'd liked to have done. therefore if those were the kinds of surfaces I regularly used then I'm sure I would have found them to be more than capable. Lastly, I'm hardly a tearaway anymore, (maybe I used to be!!) but I found the single cylinder engine lacking in grunt, unable to generate enough speed quickly enough to safely pass traffic that was doing more than 55mph. Finally, it kept cutting out on me at low revs, sometimes when I was actually still riding! Took it back to the dealer who basically increased the idle speed but it still did it. Ok, all that said, I admit to living the Isle of Man, the home of Road Racing, but be that as it may, it doesn't influence my style of riding (anymore!), I just like to take it easy these days, maybe occasionally up to or just nudging 80mph whenever the need or desire takes me. My comments don't take an ounce away from any of yours, my fellow old timer, the Himalayan would be a great bike for most off-roaders, we're all different, I guess, I simply found it to be not what I wanted at this time in my ancient life. Really looking forward to you reveiwing my current ride, if you ever get the chance. Best wishes & keep the vids coming.

I've had my 2022 for less than a week and I dig it. I haven't had a scoot in 15 years and my last ride was a 95th Anniversary Springer. At 5'8 and 155 lbs this bike works great for me It has plenty of power, I'm a stock air-cooled VW kind of guy, and it is fun to ride. Your vids helped me decide, thanks, one old man to another (you're older).

Watching your videos helped convince me to pick one up last month. I'm 6'6" 275 LBS and the fit isn't too bad. I'm waiting on the seat concepts tall seat to come in and then I'll be ready to do some longer range stuff. In the bike's first 300 miles, it has about 70 miles off road and 230 on road (a lot of which is on winding mountain roads in AZ. ) It's a blast, all around. I think the people that hate this bike have unrealistic expectations for it and can't comprehend that this air cooled 411cc small bike is not both a motocross bike and a touring bike. It's a mountain goat. Rather than listening to the haters and trying to argue, I just hop on my bike and go have fun! Thank you for informative, interesting, and funny videos about great bikes

saw little Ronin at 6 mins. really enjoy your videos. Had a motorcycle accident about 13 years ago, had some pretty bad injuries but always wanted to get back to it. recently took the plunge and went with the 2022 Himalayan. I've had it for about 28 days and use it to commute to work every day, I'm up to 1800 miles and loving it. this bike is not the fastest but it will do what you want it to do. I usually get 65 to 70 miles to the gallon averaging 55 MPH on my commute. It will do 50MPG if you keep it pegged at 70, with a 235 pounds guy on it. anyway I watch your vids on the Himi for maintenance info and such. thanks a lot, you've been very helpful.

YES !!! Straight seat the same height as the pillion !!! I’ve mocked up a straight seat for my 81 Kawasaki 440LTD like what we’re talking about. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! I put a set of knobbies on her and she’s a real fun ride out on the trails. I almost prefer the old 440 over my brand new CRF 300 rally. The straight and high seat allows me to get my 70 year old body up on the pegs much quicker and easier. If Royal Enfield made such a seat for their Himalayan I’d seriously consider one for my next bike.

Really enjoyed the video brother, and I love the humour you put through it. The Himalayan doesn't appeal to me, but for some reason I am really taken with the 350's. I had a squizzy, (slang for look), at the Classic, meteor Super Nova and the 650 Interceptor today, and if I could, I would have all three!! The ergonomics on all three are great for someone my size, unbelievable! I'm 6'1, 236lbs with a 33 inch inseam. I will certainly test ride all three when I am physically able to. I was originally looking at the Triumph T120 as a second bike, but thanks to you, that idea has been turfed out the window. For the cost of the Trumpy I could get two Royal Enfield's and still have some change left over! Bugger me, I'm starting to think like my missus, and that's scary, believe you me mate! Anyway, enough of the waffling and have a good one brother. Cheers.🦘👍

Well it's Built for all Road, Built for No road. It comes with a three years normal warranty + RSA. In India I brought it with additional 2 years warranty + RSA for roughly 75$ ( ₹5899) which is like dirt cheap considering people spend 3-4 times more on a pair of jordans. 5 years or for 50000 km your bike is covered for so many issues. Additionally you can spend 60$ (₹4599) more to get a Annual Maintenance Contract which take care of all the extra services if needed for next 5 years.

Another excellent video on the Royal Enfield Himalayan from you which is what I have come to expect! You again covered all the points in a very clear and entertaining manner. You have an excellent understanding of the RE Himalayan and what it was built for. You qualify all your statements with the knowledge, expertise and backup of a very seasoned rider ( Not old) of different bikes and a very good understanding of the RE Himalayan. You are spot on about the seat and I believe there are more improvements to come from Royal Enfield. I am now on my second one and I am totally happy with the bike's overall performance. It's not a Harley, it's not a BMW, Honda or Suzuki sports bike, but it is very good at what it was designed & built for. As you correctly stated, it is also very easy to maintain and it's also very economical to run! Ronin, keep them coming as I look forward to all your quality videos! Thank you.

I own a 2022 Himmy, I rode it already 10500 km and it is probably the best bike I ever owned! My other bikes were Honda CB500 (1994), Suzuki V-Strom 650 (2007) and Triumph Scrambler 900 (2014). I want to sell my Triumph now, because I rode it only 2000 km this year. I don't need/use my Triumph anymore, because I literally LOVE my Himalayan 2022!! The only negative think is the tripper. I mean, wtf needs it?! I didn't use it during my ride from Sweden to Romania and back, through Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. Tripper should be sold as an option. Otherwise, my Himmy is perfect!

Great review Ronin. I enjoyed riding that bike with you guys down to the Ohio River. We did almost all backroads and state routes on the way down, and I did about the same on the way back. As best I can tell I averaged about 70 mpg, even with using the full rev range, as they say to do. You and I are about the same sized, and my thoughts about the seat are similar as well. I added a gel pad and sheepskin and that was a big help. Overall, I put about 380 miles on the bike, and found it to be very enjoyable, comfortable, and easy to live with. It handles well in the corners, and is right at home on gravel. I saw 75 mph a couple times without issue, and never felt I couldn't keep a strong pace. Two thumbs up for your review and for the Himi!

Hi nice vids on the himalayan you have. I have my full license for 2 years now and drove a seca2 '94 in the mean time. Some big maintenance coming up so I am looking for a younger bike. BMW F800R 2014 in my shortlist, but also a local 22 model himalayan with only 220km on the clock, which is quite an appealing bike. Things I consider are emissions in EU, petrol pricing the next 10 year's when everyone should drive a Tesla. Ease and costs of maintenance. I don't like highways and use my bike for fun-rides in combination with nice weather 3km commute. Short rides realy, to get away from wife and kids as I don't have the space for a mancave. Mostly backroads and an occasional green lane, but the seca2 isnt up for that. This draws me to himalayan, but I am wondering if I would miss the extra power if the himalayan would be my only bike. Head vs heart situation, where I do like the practicality and the looks and pedigree of RE. But also acknowledge BMW for also being a very good bike and having the extra oomph and maybe 'scramblerize' it a little.... c Could you live with only the himalayan?

I'm still loving mine. It's great around the city and it handles the ohv trails. I'll probably have to upgrade the tires eventually as the new Mexico mud is nasty stuff. @@OlManRonin absolutely. Looking for loose spokes while cleaning the wheels. Check for any leaks as well on the calipers and any oil leaks on the engine. And maintain that chain. I was over at the dealer checking that a new exhaust wouldn't void the warranty (it won't) and I saw a Himalayan on the lift with a rusty chain. How can you ignore it that long? Idk, maybe they think the dealer does everything 🤔 I had a chain break on me way back in the day and it took a piece of the sprocket cover with it. I would never let my bike get like that again. CEAT tires started in Italy but is now in India. Europe to India. Who would do that? They are owned by a parent company that makes everything from cell towers to oil pipelines to pharmaceuticals. Other than their Italian origins I can find no relationship between them an Pirelli. Pirelli is publicly held (stocks) but run by a Chinese company. I understand the switch to CEAT was due to import tariffs in India.
