I think you can make a strong argument that Skyler Woodward is the best shotmaker on earth at the moment. Some of the kick shots he makes other players couldn't even see. It's just unreal.
Is this where we vote? #1 Shot of the year was Skylar Woodward's bank combo into the 9 for the win!!!!! The #2 shot of the year is Skylar Woodward's shot where he hit the one and had the cueball knock in the 9ball into the side pocket!!!
i been playing billiards too for a very long time, i did most of these incredible shots already. not 100% all the time. but i am pretty sure if you play for over 20 years all these shots are makeable. except for the cue ball at 01:20
"Flukes of the year" should be a suitable title for this video, because 90% of the shots are considered actual flukes. Pool players performing this sort of shots are often called "magicians".
No. Just overloaded top center at such a high velocity that when the cue ball’s spin was able to catch the cloth going forward, it was already moving back from the side rail. The two opposing forces just allowed the cue ball to slow and bend to where it landed
It’s mostly just a ton of topspin, when the cueball bounces off the rail it still has some of that topspin on it but now the other way so it turns into backspin, which is why it warps like that. He didn’t play it with running side because he was pretty straight and it would’ve left him too far away. He played it amazing though, it’s super hard to play that shot at that speed, distance, and on the rail.
Not sure about the comments here, bur he clearly puts almost maximum left spin. You can see the way it checks off the second rail, for sure it is not just top spin. And look at him cueing at it, he is obviously not hitting center top.
@@dzarren nah the angle already changed before hitting the 2nd rail. He might have put about a tip of left spin but it was top spins that did most of the work. If he played with maximum left, the cue ball would go closer to the 9 ball and probably slow down a lot more before hitting the 2nd rail
He kind of cheated the very very most of the pocket it ricochet in too. But he deflected or juiced it up some must that the camera also picked up a wild throw off the rail with English and it looked like an illusion how he created and angle with nothing. I guess you can see positions good in the clip and see it up and see if you get shape.
Yea, such a high pressure shot. Shane's 1-9 bank carom right before that was also incredible, but with that one he at least had a chance of making the 1 if he missed the 9. Skyler's shot was 9 or nothing.
For me it's Biado at 1:19. He put so much left on the ball to get it to kill, it actually started hooking back toward the bottom rail a little bit. From over 8 feet away and on the rail, to put that much power and control and accuracy on the shot is simply unreal. Not the flashiest shot but I think it's the best shot here.
@@splattered1 Shane's was a complete fluke that looked nice. He looked to see if 3 passes 4 to corner pocket and just gave it a shot thinking that if it gets thrown away to side rail it would end up on top rail anyway and cue ball stays back near kitchen string. Instead he fluked 2 balls and this looked nice on camera.
@@andreirau no clue what you’re talking about mate. He’s clearly knew what he was doing. Wasn’t trying to play safe lol. 4 wasn’t intentional but he was playing the Billard with the 3 off the 4.
Love you Matchroom, but that's a terrible compilation. 20% of the shots are flukes, and the only lady nominated makes a one rail reasonably easy kick to pocket a hanger. You can do better. Anyway, I vote for Carlo's extreme inside.
That’s the “Emily Fraser” special. I’m curious how there can be so many women who qualify for some of these events and if they get guaranteed money since they probably have a 1000-1 chance of winning, if not less. I also like both Biado shots, I want to see something that really separates the pros from the amateurs.
Whatever you say, Trainspotting. I'll bet you couldn't nail down any of the shots in this video if you had all day. Never mind pulling one off in the heat of competition against a world class opponent. It all looks easy from your couch.
You cannot contend all these types of shots again one another cuz they´re all so different. Jumping is a whole other skill than kicking, as is potting, and mayn of these were lucky like those combos. In any case, Biado for the win, 1:20
I go with the Oushan kickshot opener. But I believe the Woodward 2-9 at Mosconi will make it because of the emotions running high. But yeah, at the end others were laughing ...
