Great review ! I’m looking at Skoda as the current COE prices are just crazy and I am impressed with the looks of the Octavia, superb and the Kodiaq. Thoughts on the reliability of the 7 speed DSG though?

Thanks for watching man. Personally I never saw the 7 speed DSG as unreliable. In fact, I think it’s one of the most intuitive gearboxes on the market (always finds the right gear), and is actually incredibly efficient. That said, I can understand why someone might think the DQ200 is unreliable - to which I’d say that the transmission has had hardware updates since the time of the MK7. I feel that the reliability conversation is more of a MK6-era conversation. No longer very applicable.

Oh! And also, the Octavia Combi RS isn’t using the DQ200 dry clutch anyway. It’s using a wet clutch. Different gearbox.

@@thebestbees yes it’s using the wet clutch as well. The dry clutch is only applicable to Volkswagen Group models that produce up to 250Nm of torque. Anything rated for more than 250Nm uses a wet clutch.

@@roadpilgrimsorry didn't realize you responded. I am from Taiwan. There was a long wait list here, but recently they started delivering. The sales told me the waitlist is because of the war. We always get the new cars last here. Haha. This car is amazing though

@@roadpilgrim the road condition is ok in Taipei. It is definitely not as good as Singapore. I drive mainly on highways so this car does pretty well.

Hi. I love your reviews. The flow is nice and comfortable. Can I know the presenter's name? Feel like I could listen to him talk for a long time when he is driving. One suggestion is perhaps a close up look of the screen and the setting controls below it? Maybe a close up look of the steering wheel would be nice too! Overall a breath of fresh air to the SG car review scene! Keep the videos coming!
