I was live for the Cody Rhodes injury. I heard about the pectoral tear on the drive from my home only about an hour and a half away from the venue and I didn't believe it at first, but when I saw the injury, the only thing I couldn't believe was the fact that Cody would have a 5 star match with that torn pec. He deserves all the respect in the world for that.
This was absolutely one of the most wild years ever experienced. SO much happened, it’s ridiculous. Cody Rhodes and Bray Wyatt returning and shocking audiences worldwide, Stone Cold returning for one more match, MJF becoming a legend after delivering a nuke in LA, AEW and NJPW had an AWESOME crossover show, Vince McMahon retiring, HHH is now in charge, we got a LEGENDARY UK show in Clash at the Castle, Logan Paul having 3 of the best matches ever, CM Punk becoming the most hated in wrestling, we got Wargames now on main roster, and SO much more. Absolutely one of the most memorable years for wrestling fans. We truly are winners at the end of the day.😊❤️
Stone colds return isn't a return it was just an appearance a part timer isn't a return either if someone wrestles full time like drew mckentyre that's called a return stop disturbing the meaning of the word return it makes you look incompet stupid and ridiculous
if Drew won at Clash at the castle, it would be legendary and we'll still be talking about it in few years..... what we got at clash at the castle will be completely forgotten in 2 years. it will be remembered as a "better than expected" ppv and thats all. edit ::: logan paul delivering 3 of the best matches of all time??? ahhaha
This year was a classic year for professional wrestling. Probably one of the most overall entertaining years of professional wrestling as a whole, and I was here for all of it.
WWE will always suck as long as the have Roman Reigns as champ I get he’s a heal but he’s boring to watch he was my least when he was apart of the shield idk all the wrestlers and boring nowadays and the have shitty names and either no gimmicks or dumb ones and why tf is there a wrestler called LA Knight that’s the dumbest name ever and if I have to watch Logan Paul again in the WWE I might blow my brains out
Bray Wyatt's return and the build up to his return shouldn't be overlooked. All the QR codes and the plethora of subliminal messages were refreshing and new. So many people were waiting for his return and still had one of the loudest pops of the year even when everyone had an inclination that was he was returning in extreme rules.
@eddieinc.900 yeah you didn't read my comment. I'm talking about the build up to his return and the moment he returned, NOT his run when he returned. Completely different and shouldn't disregard how he returned and moment he did. Whatever happened afterwards is Completely different. After his return might be underwhelming but his build up to him coming back wasn't. You were hooked to see what will happen next week and if he'll be returning that night or clues as to when.
I like the new Judgement Day but none of them can talk Somehow and someway.. if they kept Edge as the leader and the mouthpiece under HHH booking. To me Judgement Day would be better. Edge could of been like what Triple H was too Evolution
2022 is one of the most craziest years in the history of wrestling. So many moments happened such as Vince stepping down led to HHH being the boss while Punk/Young Bucks drama took place, Sasha and Naomi walk out and the returns of Cody, Stone Cold, Bray Wyatt, Bayley, Lita and more was awesome plus Logan Paul put out 3 incredible bangers while HHH rehired everyone that was released by Vince such as Gargano, Lumis, Hit Row, Teagan, Dakota Kai, Karrion Kross and more. Sheamus was re-birthed by forming the Brawling Brutes and putting out classic battles with Gunther. 2022 also saw rising talents such as MJF, Theory, Gunther, Bron Breakker, Riddle, Solo Sikoa, Roxanne Perez, Domink and more getting the spotlight. What an crazy year 2022 has been.
Japanese wrestling legend Antonio Inoki passed on earlier this year. Pretty much the wrestling MVP in Japan for decades. That shocked pretty much everyone.
As someone that just casually watches wrestling at this point in my life, your content is the best man. Got too much on my plate to actually watch, but I do appreciate all your recaps, and not only bringing back that nostalgia, but providing short recaps on newer stuff. Love the channel.
You poor guy. 2022 outside some real life drama was absolutely meh in the grand scheme of pro wrestling over the last 40+ years. You really have been deprived.
Definitely a WILD ride to be as a wrestling fan. I wouldn't be shocked if people compare this to 2007 as being the wildest and most unpredictable year in wrestling history, or even the best in terms of talent/matches probably comparing it to the mid-late 90s. It's crazy to see how much a year can change and I hope to see more like these in the next year(s).
it was awesome year i was shocked that mr mcmahon left wwe /cm punk the young bucks ace steel kenny omega fight backstage /sami zayn joining the usos roman regins in the bloodline i was watched speedball mike bailey vs the walking weapon josh alexander was one of the best matches in Tna
I’m actually glad I got to witness all of this year in the wrestling world because it was awesome. All the returns, drama, groundbreaking news, and such will be fondly remembered and talked about for years to come. This year marks 17 years I’ve been a sports entertainment fan and I was there for some of the most crazy things that have happened in this crazy business. Let’s all hope 2023 will be a little tamer than this year and I hope everyone has a great new year.
Vince Retired ( rumors he’s coming back ) Cody Rhodes Returns to WWE and CM Punk Media Scrum incident. 2022 has certainly been a crazy year in Wrestling
2022 was a historic year for Wrestling, from Stone Cold Steve Austin wrestling Kevin Owens at WM 38, to Cody Rhodes return, to CM Punk winning the AEW title and his brawl with the Elite, Vince McMahon retiring from WWE, HHH taking control , Roman Reigns and Bloodlines dominance, to finally ending 2022 with John Cena’s return, what a incredible year 👏👏👏
i found your channel this year and have watched every single video multiple times, this has been my favourite channel this year and has been a big reason for me to get back into wrestling for the first time since like 2013 PAV = YT-MVP 2022!!!
What I love about ur channel is that it still hols the old RU-vid algorithm u have the intro, n hook us all wrestling fans to watch the vid therefor we chill n relaxe while enjoying every minute of ur vids patiently along side ur amazing story narration tysm WrestlinGifs
I haven't been following wrestling like I used to a few years ago, but this video made me so happy. I think when everything was said and done, this year in wrestling was fun and memorable and that's been missing for a long time in this industry. Especially in WWE. Thanks for this video goat
I started watching WWE again this year and had missed quite a lot. Stopped watching around the time the Shield debuted. What a year to come back to! I felt like a kid again and actually attended my first wrestling event live at Summerslam. What a night that was and what a year. It’s already February and WWE is still on a hot run. Can’t wait to see what 2023 brings!
2022 was the type of year that had Ls turning into Ws, hell even the Saudi PPV was solid. This is a year I will tell the next generation about. Everything from the Bloodline, CM Punk, the Tractor, Clash At The Castle, MJF, etc. I can't wait to tell these tales to whoever wants to listen. This is one of the greatest wrestling years in recent memory.
I don’t think I’ve watched a episode of raw is war in 20 years but RU-vid has a way of finding your niche. I don’t know half the people you talk about but I can tell how excited you are when you talk about it and something about you being happy, makes me happy!
Though it's my first year watching, and I'm 18 years old, I can honestly say I've been lucky to witness all of the madness of 2022. What a time to be alive.
2023 is shaping up to be another crazy year. In addition to her NJPW Wrestle Kingdom appearance, Sasha Banks _might_ debut in AEW on the January 11th edition of Dynamite as Saraya's partner.
This was a roller coaster ride of Wrestling in 2022. So many moments such as Cody Rhodes returning to the WWE at WrestleMania and Bray Wyatt returning at Extreme Rules, Stone Cold returning to have another match at WrestleMania against Kevin Owens, Cody having a 5 star Match with a Torn Pec in Hell in a Cell against Seth, Undertaker is in the Hall of Fame, NJPW and AEW crossover, Vince leaving and Triple H being the boss, the drama with CM Punk and The Young Bucks, Triple H rehiring everyone that was released by Vince, Clash of The Castle being an Awesome PPV and much more!
I don't think this year can be topped not just in wrestling but in everything it's like this year was gifted to have crazy moments craziest year in recent memory award goes to 2022 even though this wasn't a good year for me it was a good or unbelievable year to everybody else thanks for the beauty god.
What a ride it’s been for us! I’m so glad I got to go to Mania 38 to see the Man Cody Rhodes and the toughest SOB Stone Cold Steve Austin return in one night. Night two was awesome too!
I’m new to your channel but honestly man. This was really well done and I could easily see you make these an annual thing. Like a Annual Wrestling Retrospective. Really well done 👍🏾
What a way to turn a passion into a business. Well done on the editing. Well done on the longest vid of the year. Well done on the Year! Shout out from South Africa. 👍
This is 100% the craziest year in wrestling history with the biggest news in wrestling history of Vince McMahon retiring. I can't see 2023 being as crazy as this but considering we have rumours of Vince wanting to comeback just at the end of this year does make me think that 2023 could also be as crazy if the news of Vince coming back comes true near the start of next year but at this point we can't predict what is going to happen next in wrestling after this year
Glad I went to Double or Nothing, I always looked up to Punk as a hero and someone who both me and my uncle loved, I loved his straight edge character and he was always someone to look forward to that night. Glad i got to see probably one of his last title runs, will always be a hero to me no matter what people say about him.
Don’t care what anyone says, this year has been one of if not the craziest year in wrestling history. Not only that it was also a great and fun year for wrestling in all areas, yes there are flaws but I’m sure every has had them too
IMO 2022 will go down as one of the best years for WWE. You got new teams such as Judgment Day, Damage CTRL, and The Bloodline forming. Released superstars coming back, Cody Rhodes return, The 24/7 championship being retired, and Triple H taking control over WWE.
@@snakeeyes2551 Exactly, this has been the best year of WWE since 2016 imo, and has probably surpassed that year too. I'm not gonna compare it to the atitude era and early ruthless aggression years but it is definitely a good runner up behind those years.
I'm glad you can feel so passionately about wrestling. If anything, 2022 finally turned me off from wrestling for good, especially after the CM Punk drama ruined the last bit of fun I was having with it. The whole video sounds a bit markish with the whole "Logan Paul vs Roman Reigns was a five star classic" but you're a dude enjoying something you love. I can respect that. I hope you have just as much fun next year.
This year is going to be remembered forever Vince shocked me he been getting away with things since the 90s and punk I already knew how everyone felt promos don’t lie
Craziest year for the wrong reasons all backstage stories. And we moved from the part time era to the celebrity era. But it was a major improvement product wise from 18-21 I think wwe is in a positive direction
AEW v WWE is actually amazing. Even if they aren't purposely trying to beat each other.. them both changing so much in a single year, twists and turns etc... it's epic. Can't wait to watch all the wrestling in 2023. 2022 the craziest.
The Vince McMahon Retirement has to be the biggest story of 2022..... and the craziest thing is that..... it's far from over. 😭😭😭 Say your prayers, PAV, because it's about to be WAR between the Board of Directors and Vince for the WWE 😭
I have a very interesting story behind how I found about about Vince’s retirement, me and my dad were in Worcester for smack down, we would be sitting in the 8th row of the second lodge (also I got an aisle seat on the same isle the street profits came out on, I have super bright bleached blonde hair and a Boston 316 T shirt on in the WWE RU-vid video btw) but before that, we went out to dinner, and the guys who ran my dad’s favorite wrestling podcast sat down at the table next to us, my dad introduced himself to them and they told him that Vince had announced his retirement 45 minutes earlier, and there was also a thank you Vince chant at the beginning of the night, i don’t remember if it was televised or not.
2022 is nuts, but it's also pretty complicated for me since I started watching wrestling by the time of Wrestlemania and Revolution 2022. I've been stuck with AEW because of the CM Punk and MJF feud, as well as Jeff Hardy's debut. But after Double Or Nothing, it had gotten harder and harder for me to get back to the show. Not helped with Jeff's arrest and the messy backstage politics that keeps getting popped up. Yet I kept watching, getting to see Moxley do his best as Interim World Champ, which was an honestly awesome time even without Punk or Jeff around. Then with All Out with Punk's return, The Elite showing just how good they truly are at what they could do, and MJF's grand return, it felt like anything can happen that could make for a great history for AEW... Theeeeen the Media Scrum happened, the backstage brawl, the title vacancy, Jeff's court delay, the whole shebang, and I've pretty much just stopped watching altogether. As for WWE, I've honestly been hesitant to even tune in because of the hour length of the show, petty as that may be. But for all that I've heard, with Cody's return, HHH taking Vince's throne, and some wild-ass moments like the Riddle-Rollins banter that even I couldn't believe they aired, sounded like things are going on a completely right track. I'll probably hop back into WWE by around January to at least have a good start to watch through. And I'll also watch some AEW as well, as soon as I get over the mental strain that I've felt since the whole dramatic madness... But outside of wrestling shows, my big props for 2022's wrestling history has to go to MDickie for Wrestling Empire! Since the game got onto Nintendo Switch and Steam, he's been plugging in so many updates and features that even wrestling games these days couldn't implement without the fear of consequences! And as someone who's played the MDickie wrestling games since Encore, I've been very impressed with how far MDickie has come, especially as a one-man game developer!
Tbh...I am subscribed but wasn't watching you a lot...but this video is perfectly built and very enjoyable..good job man. You forced me to give your channel more attention... Bravo🥰
I know this isn’t exactly really crazy, but I just wanted to mention the NXT releases that happened this year. Mandy Rose got released a few days ago, after posting adult content. Nash Carter got released just days after winning the tag titles, due to an old photo & allegations made by his ex-wife. Two Dimes was released for failing the wellness policy & NXT wrote him off, by having him get murdered by Tony D’Angelo. NXT just hasn’t been a very kind place this year. lol
