yeah not as solid as my 2016. I think they need some fine tuning in the cab.

If you tap on that piece with your fingers, it actually has some give to it. It’s not a tight fit, which is why it made noise with any bass or road vibrations. Why they designed it like that is beyond me.

@@bjc2430 can you tell me at which point in the video it shows the piece you are talking about (time stamp)? I wouldn't mind adding that as well to see if it improves any from what I have.

Just to clarify, the one on the passenger side seems to be a lot tighter, so I didn’t mess with it.

I figured that would be the case for me and I’m two hours from a dealer so I didn’t bother trying. It’s unfortunate Toyotas quality is not what it used to be.

Shoot, sorry to hear it. Mine is not rattling in that area. But yeah not the same kind of quality we’ve been used to with Toyota.

Sorry, I haven’t noticed any headliner issues. I also probably wouldn’t have fixed the door rattle if it weren’t for my 15 year old’s taste in music, ha ha. Only presented itself with deep base. But oh well, fixed now.

It should be, yes. And I have read on forums that some people have been able to get their dealers to fix it doing something similar to what I did. My dealer is over 2 hrs away so I figured I'd just fix it myself rather than take the 4 hr round trip and wait on them all day to take a look at it and probably just tell me thats the way it came from the factory so it is what it is.

Oh we all agree with you, and I hope anyone with issues like these report them to Toyota as I have so they can improve. I’m just solving the problem myself because I’m 2hrs from a dealer and I assumed I’d get the “can’t replicate the issue” or “no current fix” response instead of a solution.

Just to my front two doors. I haven’t noticed rattling in the back. However part Of the problem was the hard carpet inserts in the door handle. I removed those in all doors.

Can you please update me if they were able or willing to fix it? This rattling is driving me crazy! I have the capstone and everything rattles especially the center console

@@samd5260 I never tried to get the dealer to fix it because I live 2 hrs from the dealer and I figured I'd get the runaround. Maybe @Mach.1 has some input.

I guess you just expect the silverado to have rattles so no letdown.

Not in the door, no. My center console rattles sometimes. Wish there was a fix for that.

It’s a lunar rock. Unfortunately they don’t offer it ln the trd pro anymore.

Sorry, I don't know. I didn't take the time to measure when the panels were off. I think they are larger than that - the pro has the JBL audio. Seems like those speakers were closer to 8"?

mine was worse on the drivers side for sure, but you could hear it on the passenger as well. I just did the same fix to both sides.

mine was very faint on the passenger side but still there, so I did both doors.

Shoot, I don't have a rattle in my dash. I wonder what the cause of that might be. Where does yours sound like it's coming from?

@@residualboulders I wanted to buy a new Tundra, been waiting 2 decades and all I hear about are rattles from the stereo. I can wait a couple more years or buy a Ridgeline.

@@jimcricket5412 I've owned several Tundras, this is the only one I've had a door rattle. I think Toyota will sort out some of these minor issues. Overall I love the truck. My 2020 Ford Raptor also had little quirks, they all do these days.

yeah it's a bummer it had the little rattle. It wasn't hard to fix either so they could have figured that one out in the factory. But, I can't say my 2020 Raptor I used to have was perfect either.

Yeah my 200 series Landcruiser has no rattles so I’m sure the Lexus version of the landcruiser doesn’t either. Lexus doesn’t make a truck, if they did I suspect it wouldn’t have rattles from the factory. I’m sure Toyota will figure it out. First model year issues

You definitely have a point there. Unfortunately I am 2 hrs from the nearest dealer so I decided to fix it myself rather than waste several days taking it over there for them to troubleshoot.

Absolutely true but no one will treat your vehicle with as much care as you do. I have had dealers fk my trucks up bad in the past. Then it’s just a nightmare fight with the dealer and you gotta become a Karen to get shit made right. The workforce In America is complete trash.

It's all Legos and IF there's a rattle detected by customer or dealer, a quality alert will instruct the assembler to use some anti rattle tape. However no extra time is allotted for this. Only if it's done ahead of time.

You nailed it! It's why they got away with selling a scam of a truck to the most gullible of idiots, Toyota now knows they can design trash and con people by covering it up with marketing. Sad, ever subsequent version of this truck will just get even worse now..Toyota should be embarrassed

I didn't pay near that much, but I agree it shouldn't have rattles. I had a 2020 Raptor before. - It also had some quality quirks.

Yeah you need some panel pry tools and patience. I've removed panels on many vehicles without issue.

I have the prying tools and I’ve changed out a couple of electric window motors one other vehicles in the past. When I popped the corner piece out, both tabs stayed with the truck.

@@montybradford3674 Bummer, sorry to hear it. You should be able to pry them out and reuse them? I have had to replace a couple of clips over the years that I have broken, but wasn't a big deal.

Yeah, It's faster, peppier, quieter, smoother, better audio, better mileage, more comfortable and tows better than my '16 trd pro - but that's not for everyone.

@@residualboulders LOL same feeling here I am on my 5th Tundra for me since 2008, 2 of my previous being 2016/2017 TRD Pros. Besides a few rattles that you just showed me how to fix, I love the 22 TRD Pro more then any of them in so many different ways. Thanks for the video! I asked another RU-vidr do a how to on the door panel removal, as I have rattle on my passenger side when I play music with really strong base. You went a step futher and actually figured out what I have been putting off, I was even thinking of waiting for my first service and having the dealer take care of it. However since you figured out the locations Im just going to do what you did on the weekend.

@@JohnnyP636 good luck! Hopefully yours is rattling in the same area so it fixes the issue. I removed the rigid carpet inserts in the door, that was part of the problem. I need to find something aftermarket to replace them with. I have noticed the audio is not as crisp as the JBL in my 21' Landcruiser. I'm not sure what they did differently, maybe I'll take apart my cruiser door and compare. This new gen tundra is a huge improvement over the last in my opinion. Enjoy your new truck!

yeah i would have preferred a perfect truck. Easily fixed and only cost a few cents though.
