Thank you HOWEVER I did break 2 nubs off the first piece of plastic removed. And after al this, it still rattles. The rattling comes from the door trim around the upper part of the door + the mirror. Awesome vide though because without it, I wouldn't have even known how to remove the door panel at all and would have broken more. Love the truck but jeez it rattles all over. So frustrating.
I took my new 2024 Toyota Tundra to the dealership for the same rattle noise. The technician said he didn’t hear anything. I played my juke box hero a few times and the base starts moving something inside the door that even after you lower the music now every bump starts rattling. We were able to duplicate the rattle. Technician and I drove a trd pro and did the exact same thing or even worst rattle than my truck. He said it’s normal characteristics of the truck and there for there isn’t nothing they can do. I will have to fix this myself know. Hope I don’t break something now. Stupid Toyota. 70 thousand dollars. Anyways thanks for your video.
I figured that would be the case for me and I’m two hours from a dealer so I didn’t bother trying. It’s unfortunate Toyotas quality is not what it used to be.
These have to be the most rattling trucks ever built. My 22 has rattled since day one. Door panels, windows, bed, center consol, and the windshield clip. Definitely a love/hate relationship.
This really took me back. Owned a green and white 76 FJ55 for 8 years. Got me home from night shift through the country reliably through those harsh winters of the late 70s, but salt was hard on it. Beautiful, tasty restomod that whoever did buy her (I called her the Green Dragon🐉🐉🐉) bought a real classic. Toyota doesn't make them like this anymore, and I do enjoy my 80 series/LX 450, but I'd sure like to ride in this one more time.
Have you had any problems with the infotainment radio power knob ? It has been replaced three times and keeps breaking in the same spot…Toyota doesn’t want to admit the issue.
I appreciate this video, but wanted to share my own experience with the same problem. I took it to the dealer twice, and of course they couldn’t get it to replicate. I actually figured out that the rattle was coming from that piece of black plastic you removed from behind the door handle. I took the part off and I didn’t hear the rattle anymore. I got on Amazon and bought some felt with adhesive tape on one side, put the felt on the back of the plastic piece, reinstalled, and I don’t hear it anymore.
If you tap on that piece with your fingers, it actually has some give to it. It’s not a tight fit, which is why it made noise with any bass or road vibrations. Why they designed it like that is beyond me.
@@bjc2430 can you tell me at which point in the video it shows the piece you are talking about (time stamp)? I wouldn't mind adding that as well to see if it improves any from what I have.
Great video, just got my 2024 and unfortunately the driver door definitely rattles. I turned the bass down but doesn’t totally eliminate the problem. I’ll try to take it to dealer first and if they “can’t recreate or fix the issue” I’ll try your fix. Did you do this fix to the other doors? Thanks
Just to my front two doors. I haven’t noticed rattling in the back. However part Of the problem was the hard carpet inserts in the door handle. I removed those in all doors.
Can you please update me if they were able or willing to fix it? This rattling is driving me crazy! I have the capstone and everything rattles especially the center console
@@samd5260 I never tried to get the dealer to fix it because I live 2 hrs from the dealer and I figured I'd get the runaround. Maybe @Mach.1 has some input.
You should get some of this product Noico Red 150 mil (4mm) 36 sqft (3.4 sqm) Noico Liner Car Heat and Sound Insulation,Heat and Cool Liner, Self-Adhesive Closed Cell Foam (PE Foam)
Toyota has been definitely going downhill with all this small crap, next thing you know it'll be something else like the wiring which they cheaped out on in the past decade. Back in the day the quality was higher but people complained that they were bland and not stylish like other manufacturers for what they pay for, so now we have a large part of the money spent on aesthetics instead of functional engineering.
Got rid of my Tacoma as I got tired of everything plastic in the interior. Looks like this new Tundra is no different. I hear the console is a joke and everything rattles with that too.
Sorry, I don't know. I didn't take the time to measure when the panels were off. I think they are larger than that - the pro has the JBL audio. Seems like those speakers were closer to 8"?
Hi man youtube has recommended your video to me and I am happy with the content you do I like it I just wondering if you are looking for a video editor because you really need one. let me help you!
I have the prying tools and I’ve changed out a couple of electric window motors one other vehicles in the past. When I popped the corner piece out, both tabs stayed with the truck.
@@montybradford3674 Bummer, sorry to hear it. You should be able to pry them out and reuse them? I have had to replace a couple of clips over the years that I have broken, but wasn't a big deal.
@@residualboulders I wanted to buy a new Tundra, been waiting 2 decades and all I hear about are rattles from the stereo. I can wait a couple more years or buy a Ridgeline.
@@jimcricket5412 I've owned several Tundras, this is the only one I've had a door rattle. I think Toyota will sort out some of these minor issues. Overall I love the truck. My 2020 Ford Raptor also had little quirks, they all do these days.
Yeah the door rattle happened to my Platinum 22 tundra amount other things that drove me crazy. I turned down the bass on JBL system and that helped. Went back to Silverado after about 11 months of ownership of the current gen Tundra. Too many issues and did not meet my expectations of quality.
Don't want to be negative, great video and solution (for those who are hands-on & not afraid to take things apart). But having to do all this DIY for a new 70K+ USD truck...I don't know... is Toyota USA listening?
Oh we all agree with you, and I hope anyone with issues like these report them to Toyota as I have so they can improve. I’m just solving the problem myself because I’m 2hrs from a dealer and I assumed I’d get the “can’t replicate the issue” or “no current fix” response instead of a solution.
Yeah my 200 series Landcruiser has no rattles so I’m sure the Lexus version of the landcruiser doesn’t either. Lexus doesn’t make a truck, if they did I suspect it wouldn’t have rattles from the factory. I’m sure Toyota will figure it out. First model year issues
That is a beast. Looks like it can handle a modest grade. My driveway is 485 foot switch back up a steep hill. Will it make it back up? Can it snow blow its way back up? I assume people put chains on these. Thanks.
If it’s steeper than my road I would say don’t count on blowing on the way up. I have run chains but it scratches up my concrete and asphalt so I switched to Wolf Paw tires. Not quite as good of grip and 4 tires chained up, but better than two. If you are on gravel road, I’d probably use chains on all fours and you may be able to blow up hill depending on snow depth and weight.
Nice video. Just got a 23 platinum and will keep this in mind if the door rattling becomes too much. Otherwise I just tune the bass down when needed. Do you have any noise or creaking in the headliner induced by the road? I notice intermittent creaking in the headliner on the driver side depending on the road, right above my head on the side of the pano roof. Other than these things I love this truck :)
Sorry, I haven’t noticed any headliner issues. I also probably wouldn’t have fixed the door rattle if it weren’t for my 15 year old’s taste in music, ha ha. Only presented itself with deep base. But oh well, fixed now.
