I just got the Toyota OEM for my new Tundra. Dry as a bone in bed, even with big thunderstorms coming through. So far no issues. 2024.

This is a bakflip MX4 basically. Which off the website has a $1,234 list price. So having Toyota sell it with the truck installed for $1,300 is really not a bad price. I did order a 2023 tundra and included the tonneau because of this.

I didn't order a cover with my 2022 because I wanted some flexibility with what cover I wanted. Ironically, without knowing it, I chose the same cover that Toyota chose for their OEM. Still, I saved > $500 over pre-installed price. That I think the same way that Toyota does is what I don't think I like.

Yes, if you look at the patent #'s on the cover it is like a Gen 3 MX4.

How hard/easy is it to remove the trifold? For most home stuff I like the bed open all the time. When we go on trips we put the cover back on. Is this easy to do?

The only thing that’s better with the over the MX4 is that you can still use the tie mounts and the oem rails

Can you still install a bed rack system?

Most bed rack systems attach either via the deck rail or clamp style on the bedside with a vertical tower mount, therefore most of those won't work. At the time of this post, there are no solutions on the market, if that changes we will make sure to make an announcement.

I had the same one and I got robbed some of my work equipment. Is easy to open with a wonder bar. 😣 I replaced it for a diamond back cover.

Your talking a $1,000 difference between this and a diamondback. This is a amazing cover for the price. With a Diamond you don’t get the full bed access or is it easily removed. This stuff is a theft deterrent not theft proof.

It leaks straight out the box. Rubber seals warp. Snugtop tonnea cover doesn’t leak. Also ez to pop off. Tri-folds are crap.

I couldn’t disagree more. You must have gotten a bad one. Myself and two other friends of mine have the same OEM cover. Very easy to use and quality it great. Could be a bad installation.
