Demonstration of the 2022 Toyota Tundra with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 highlighting Active Lane Centering, Lane Keep Assist, and Adaptive Variable Radar Cruise Control in moderate to heavy interstate traffic. This is a game changer for daily drivers and should make the livability with this truck that much more enjoyable.

I'm glad you put a video demo out on this feature. I was going to use it the other day, but passed on it -- 2023 Tundra Limited CrewCab. Nice job.

My wife and I in the market for a new Tundra, possibly Capstone or the TRD and this feature is amazing to have, we have a very similar one in our Hyundai Santa Fe 2022 Calligraphy and it's gotten me from San Antonio, TX all the way to Washington DC with barely any effort on my part to drive it. The annoying part is that you have to periodically put your hands on the steering wheel which is more of a safety thing than anything else...gotten through the worst parts of Dallas traffic so these new adaptive lane keeping cruise controls are very impressive.

How’s it work if you have a trailer?

I just drove my new tundra from my cabin to my city home. I went 189 miles on the freeway. Locked in at 76 mph and I never had to touch the gas or brake once. Steering only when I would go by an off ramp (you lose one of the lines for a but).

Yup! It’s a game changer for long haul trips for sure… and yes I help it out whenever there’s any kind of turn. It works best just going straight and slight curves so it’s not “perfect” driving, but it’s enough to cover 90% of the trip. It works great!

It’s cool the new system works full speed. The old safety sense would shut off at 25 mph or below.

yeah its super handy, and it's great that it also adjust throttle/brake for you automatically
@Ricky5301

@@fullmag_tundra so it would stop in traffic and restart by itself?
@fullmag_tundra
@fullmag_tundra 2 года назад
@@Ricky5301 yep ! it automatically breaks for you all the way down to 0mph and it doesnt shut off all the way right away it waits for a few seconds and then puts the parking brake. When the car in front of you moves forward itll say on the screen to push the throttle or push the up button on the cruise control to re-engage the system. awesome stuff

If it’s anything like the 2020 corola it’s terrible. I had my hands on the wheel an it still beeps. You have to put a lot of pressure on it otherwise it will beep as if your hands are not on the wheel

Do you tow at all? I'm curious how well it does on passes hauling about 8,000 pounds

It is too bad Toyota encrypted the can bus, or a Comma ai 3 would be perfect for this. They are ranked higher than Tesla for Self driving, but can be added to most new cars.

If they get 500 people to pay them 100 bucks they said they will solve it.

Used mine 2023 SR5 TRD Off-road but it seems to be bouncing back and forth between lane lines.

yeah it's kind of shotty sometimes but when it works it works beautifully. I don't use it for complete auto driving I use mine in stop and go traffic, slow traffic, and to help me drive at night when im feeling drowsy

When the truck slows down automatically when the person in front of you slows down do your brake lights come on ? ( so nobody rear ends you ) ?
@fullmag_tundra
@fullmag_tundra 2 года назад
Yes! From the outside, you’d think I was just driving normally. Nothing changes just that you don’t have to do any driver input.

Will the dynamic cruise control stop and start?
@fullmag_tundra
@fullmag_tundra 2 года назад
The cruise will automatically stop you, but if you’re at a stop for longer than like 3 seconds it’ll put the auto parking brake and you’ll either need to get on throttle to reactivate the cruise or hit the +1 up on the steering wheel to resume cruise

It’s part of Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 which is included in all the trims of the new tundra! Even the base model SR I believe

I hate your brother that is a good technology. I just picked up my self 2023 to 1794 edition and after watching a video I didn’t even know anything about it. After watching your video I could put it in the Tess vitamin Tasia. It works great👍👍👍👍👍👋👋👋
