Eh idk if it just "mad rednecks." The V8 had a legendary reputation regarding bulletproof reliability that quite often lasted well over 500k miles, sometimes over a million. I think complexity of this truck's powertrain is scaring some truck drivers away. More complexity usually equals more chances to break and have unbelievably expensive repairs on an already expensive truck. Also I love the feel of a turbocharged vehicle, yet I understand some concern behind them, especially in a vehicle this size with regards to strain forced onto the engine and potential oil dilution issues.
Even though when you start it up the engine is a hybrid V6 it shouldn’t have a hybrid motor when you start the truck up it should have a V6 starter like the Camry and every Toyota truck should not have a hybrid engine for a V6 only toyota truck that has a hybrid engine is the tundra hybrid model the other tundras such as TRD pro and limited always has a non hybrid engine starter without the hybrid beep chime
