@@davidprentiss7667 don’t loop the guy with the camera into your statement…. I’d like to think I rode right through ever blind corner and didn’t overshoot any corners…
@@MattMcHugh257 I agree your riding how you should but holy shit your boy is gonna get himself and or whoever he hits killed he is right out of his mind!!!
Stayed in Au Train couple weeks ago. Rode Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. East to Seney, then up towards Pine Stump. Love Trail 9. Back through Grand Marais first day. Went to Big Bay second day and south third day. I've done thousands of miles in the UP in the last 20 years. I always stay right on hills and blind corners. Stay safe and have fun.
Used to go to the UP twice a year for 20+ years we stayed at Trout Lake , It was pretty well central and could ride to any border and back in a day great times . Went out to Mackinac Island several times as well when the ice was right , Best snowmobiling is for sure in the UP have fun and greetings from Ohio !
Appears nobody in this video knows trail etiquette and staying right. Especially on blind curves and blind hills. Appreciate the upload. We'll be using it at the next snowmobile certificate class on how not ride.
I’d like to thing the cameraman was riding safely, riding right through blind corners. Please DM me to discuss use of my video to avoid copyright. Thanks.
@@MattMcHugh257 I'd check those copyright thoughts on a public site you uploaded too that falls under fair use policy, where anyone can view it or share it.
@@MattMcHugh257 Let me add. I've seen most of your replies to the many critics on her about the riding. Did you stay right better than the first two... sure I'd loosely give you that. With that said, you should be having a discussion with those buddies. Know it's not easy convo... been there. We all have a duty to keep these trails as safe as possible. If your going to ride like that, do it at night so you/they can at least see oncoming headlights. Unfortunately you never know who's coming around that next corner, it just might be one of my kids.
Thats how you do it run your 2 most experienced rider at point and the tail and keep it close together a group can put down the miles. Soon as one guy drops back into the snowdust it becomes a constant trying to catch back up setup. Kool video
A year later and this video pops up again. And my reaction is the same. Way too much riding left of center in corners and hills. Now if there only one-way trails this looks like fun ride.
4 wheel drives on the trails, lol. I ran up on a couple of booze cruisers in a pickup while grooming at 2:00A.M. by Eben. They had to back up about a mile to get off and out of the way. Pain in the butt, but comical watching them. Anyway have fun but, please be safe. I know sometimes it feels like you have the trails all to yourselves when you don't meet others for a while and get a little carried away, that's when things can go bad very fast. I quit grooming after the second snowmobile just missed the corner of the groomer blade.
It pisses me off, coming from Munising(snowmobile capital of the world) and seeing so many out of towners racing everywhere, riding all over all sides of the trails...even around corners. A snowmobiler almost ran into my truck 2 days ago, ripping through his stop sign. Already have 2 dead from drinking and excessive speeds.
Didn't know Munising was snowmobile capital of the world, love the lake effect snow there but not sure if I would quite put it as number one in the whole world... Quick google search and it looks like they call Eagle River, Wi the snowmobile capital of the world - that makes more sense give the amount of people that go there.
Props.to the camera man riding RIGHT....ol.boy in front is the guy you hit head on !!..I understand they are tight trials but if you can't hold your line slow.down.....RAGE AT NITE!!!
It’s a great one! Not sure what their ultimate fate was, i doubt they got that truck out by themselves that thing was buried. I imagine they needed to be towed out of there
I’d say they did pretty good staying on right hand side of the trail. Used signals, and kept good speed . As always keep your head, looking ahead and you can clearly see they were. Nice riding! From Northern MN
Finally someone not hating on us lol. I too would like to think that we ride safe, the guy leading in this video definitely has a little learning to do as he’s new to the sport. Thanks!
Trails were awesome. Got some really nice fresh groomed ones in the morning, got a little fluffy near the end of the day but basically no bumps or icy spots!
That's how most out of town riders now ride here in the U.P...as fast as possible. Now, machines are faster AND lighter...a killer combination when mixed with alcohol and bravado.
Snow mobiles go by my house at 1 AM , I can not figure out why they are running around in the dark, when I go out I like to be able to see where I am going and see the scenery around me, that is part of the fun for me, exploring and enjoying the scenery. Driving blind through the dark, is not fun for me.
@@aaronhendrickson9688 Just can't see any purpose riding at night, I enjoy the ride and the scenery, not just what I can see in my headlight. It is like tunnel vision , so to me there is no reason to do it. Give me a nice clear day when I can see 10 miles , and I don't have to drive 60 MPH on the trail. My main requirment for my machine is that it gets me back home safe.
@@aaronhendrickson9688 I can understand when you are running so fast, you don't want to meet somebody coming the other direction. If you have to drive that fast, maybe the trails should be ONE WAY.
Going to fast, following to close and hogging the whole trail. Just a rolling accident waiting to hit someone coming the other way. Plus using gas and brake at the same time, not smart. Nice trail.
Video is deceiving, most corners where lead guy is left you can see through the corner. Yes he could work on staying right in general, but it’s not what it seems.
The sound of crap bouncing off the front of your sled and helmet means you're too close to the rider in front of you, which all of you were most of the time. If someone lost a ski, caught debris or hit a tree the guy behind would have no time to react and pile into the rider in front. I get taking corners wide when you can clearly see the trail in front of you and through the corner, no issues there. Ride on, have fun, but adjust your distance a bit there bud.
Would much rather ride close and see over the person in front of me where we react at the same time and still have a few sled lengths to slow down before connecting. I personally think it’s much more dangerous to ride back in the snow spray where all you can see is a tail light and white dusty snow. Ride how you want bud, but we’re going to continue to ride each others asses, not too worried about a little tap if someone stops extremely fast.
xrs could be nice! What year do you have? Have you ridden comparable Polaris sleds? Curious how you compare the two. Not to make excuses, but my left lower control arm was broken in two places and pushed about 4 inches back during this video so wasn't trying to go on a death run and have it blow out on me. Notice how far back the left ski sits lol.
This is how NOT TO RIDE THE PUBLIC TRAILS!!!!!!!!!! TREES DON'T MOVE and riding from side to side of the trail is A CRIME and causes accidents every month. Tourists STAY HOME, enough said. Tom.
Where is a good area to sled with a 12 year old away from idiots like this? I will be using this video to show my boy on what not to do (rising in left lane) and what he needs to watch for (you)
No matter the pace I ride, I see others riding like this everywhere I go from south wisconsin to north wisconsin to the UP. Go ahead and shame the riding in the video but I promise you there is much worse that happens on the trails. I would recommend your kid goes behind you and you go at a slow rate riding right ski on right edge of trail if you’re that worried about getting hit. No corner in this video where a quick adjustment wouldn’t get us out of the way of oncoming traffic.
Thought this was a great video. They did nothing wrong. To all the Karen's out there, video yourself before judging. I'd be willing to bet your not any better. If you think you are, put up a competing video. If not, stay at home.
