Nice review. But, if I've learned anything after several shootouts, it's that none of them seem to agree on anything other than the Suzuki is at the bottom.

Well stated in the intro. The “best bike” could be the worst for a particular rider and “worst bike” a perfect match. All about preference, they’re all great bikes.

Yamaha, 12 years of development with a backwards motor and they finally won a premier class pro championship! I love the unmatched reliability and durability the Yamaha has always had. It's nice to see the Yamaha design finally getting the respect it deserves.

Yamahas are great machines and so are the rest of them, I own a 21 yz 450 and all I can say is the new breeds of bikes are unbelievable.

Michael Lindsey is by far the best reviewer. 98% reviews are absolutely garbage and he actually provides quality and valuable info and breaks it down in a great way. Wish he did the 250 also for model year 22

The great thing with the Suzuki is 2nd hand parts will be around for years. Try and get parts for 1 and 2 year upgrade models down the track will be a pain.

Last year I asked a my friend who is Barcia going to ride for he says gasgas.who is that.It's amazing you got gasgas 2nd in there 2nd year that was a quick climb to runner up.Hope Barcia stays healthy this coming up season he had some really good days last year

It’s funny how theses shoot outs work , pretty much the same bikes as last year none of them have not changed from last year except for bng and it’s totally deferent out come then last years shoot out

I chose the 2021.5 “factory edition” KTM 450 SXF. It’s one of the only 20 in the state of Texas. And it’s perfect. KTM did an incredible job again

Glad to see yams coming out on top not saying they’re the best or better or anything but from dirtbikes to 3wheelers to quads Yamaha really does rev your heart! I haven’t got a chance to ride the newer yfz450f but can’t wait to throw a leg over one.

They’re all great bikes. Especially when you grew up on 90s 2 strokes. Pick your color and have fun.

I cannot believe GasGas made second place like wow 🤩🤣 same assembly line as KTM and Husky but the GasGas has “minor parts” compared to KTM and Husky right (please let me know if I’m wrong) great shootout 💯😎

You guys do a good job. I’m 6’3” and 260lbs with gear, so a stock bike isn’t something that will work for me. I like that you can make any of these bikes what you want them to be. For me it’s a 19 kx450, lots of adjustable cockpit room. And unless you’re the ideal size for Moto, you’ll definitely benefit from having your suspension done. It’s life changing.

All these bikes have pro teams, that is so good for the sport

I stopped riding in 04 and I was only comfortable on Honda. I had a 97 cr 125 and I rode my buddies Kawi 125 and hated it. Another friend had a 98 YZ 125 and the ergos on that bike I think I rode it 25 ft and stopped just because it was so weird to me. I would have had to replace the entire triple clamps and bar set up to get comfortable. Haven't ridden a new 4 stroke but I am just not in to the sport as much anymore so they all seem ugly to me.

Still going with Suzuki do to how awesome it handles and rides and turns. Every bike gets suspension tweaks anyways.

Your scores are way different from the othe MX-reviewers yet interesting. Kawasaki has been on top 2 from what i've seen. Yamaha puts out a great bike out of Japan bikes but KTM has been killing it lately. Gas Gas was a surprise, but overall I agree with most of what was said about these bikes. They are all great unless you are racing them 100.

Honestly, I think they should use the same test riders. There were changes made but not big ones to each bike. Everyone has their opinion but how does the kx450 finish first in the 2021 shootout and 5th in the 2022 shoutout. It's hard to base an opinion with these types of shootouts. But again, if your not a pro any of these bikes are good.

I thought the triple clamps on the gas gas were forged, not cast. big difference in processes.

Suzuki I a winner for me as a weekend shredder, didn't break the bank Yoshi exhaust added top end power.

The winner. Which ever is the easiest to ride. All have more power than a mere mortal can handle anyway. So, power delivery characteristics over raw power, suspension and handling should be the key factors to make a for ridability.
