Here I bumble through the install of the new, soon to release Perrin TMIC for the VB platform! You get to see my mistakes(and corrections) in their dumb glory! This Intercooler is a beast!

@DarkWolf I ordered mine from Perrin via the phone/email as you stated. It will be here 3-4 more days. (Cost was $705 with shipping included). I will weight them both when I am doing the install.

@DarkWolf the stock TMIC weighs 9.9 lbs without the plastic part and hose you end up removing. (12.0 lbs with the plastic attachment) The Perrin TMIC is 22.4 lbs. Sit its a total weight gain of 10.4 lbs.

@@DarkWolfWRX The stock volume is 385 CU IN where as the Perrin volume is 660 CU IN.

for the hood plastic ducting/shroud. Will the stock need modifying to cover the whole intercooler? other brands offer a shroud. I wonder why perrin doesnt.

You slice the stock rubber shroud with a razer and it conforms to the new IC. My guess was to keep cost down a tad.

this intercooler can not fit cusco strut tower bar right?

I THINK someone actually got that one to fit in a similar way to the Perrin one with washers to change the height. Ill have to try and find the post on that one.

I havnt got it back on the dyno since swapping intercoolers and revamps. I am now on a FMIC.

If you have to dremel anything then it would be a NO , seems like Perrin failed to R&D properly not everyone wants to waste money on a dremel for a one time install.

I mean you dont need to USE a dremel. A standard file will work as well. Its only plastic. But to each their own.
