Hey guys, today we have a 2 stroke dirt bike I wanted to ride for a long time, this is all new 2022 Yamaha YZ125 with a decent mods. I have to tell you that I absolutely love 125 2 stroke dirt bikes and this one might the the best one so far. We rode it together with Jay ‪@dirtbiketv1‬ and former pro Martin Castelo! I love how Yamaha absolutely nailed the motor/chassis on these 125/250 2T over a decade ago, but just make subtle improvements every so often and are still the best or right up there with the competition. At some point in my life I will own a 125X

Had a 2003 yz125 and it pulled hard even with my 230 lbs on there. I’ve owned a cr250r, a crf450r, and a kx250f but the yz125 was my favorite by far.

My brother has a 22 yz125 monster edition and apparently the only brand that makes a full exchaust system for it is fmf and he went pro circuit and they only have the silencer and no expansion chamber pipe. We also got the lectron carb for it and it rips hard, only down fall is that we have the two sensors for the stock carb hanging up with the other wires.

Great build! I just bought a 2022 yz125x for racing this season’s old timers motocross series. I was was on a 2021 kx 250 last year so it should be quite a different experience. My biggest concern is about the jetting because I will be racing at a lot of different tracks with vastly different elevations. I am thinking about just getting the lectron billetron carb to simplify things. What are your thoughts? And any other mods you would recommend would be appreciated. Thanks and still moto-vated!!

even Keihin with JD Jetting is a good option, they make better power than stock for sure. Vforce reeds, FMF pipe and silencer and you should be rippin! Have fun

Picking mine up tmmw. Used to have an 03’ how tall are you btw? I’m about 200lbs as well.

congrats man! I am around 5'11" and lil over 200lbs. Highly recommend to get JD jetting kit for it, you can tell them to get the same kit I have.

I came across this video and I was just about to comment regarding the jetting of the bike and that’s when you started talking about having to change to a jdy kit because of how rich these bikes came. I got my bike a few months ago and I been having so much trouble with the jetting but last week I got told to buy the jetting so I did but now I’m not sure which jets to put in because I don’t have experience with carburetors

It's a good one 125 but depending on the track the older model is better.

What’s the jetting for this bike just I’ve got a 2022 yz 125 with a fmf fatty and it bogs down and then revs up ?

Seen where the gytr kit comes with the v3 says to replace the v4 to the v3 it flows better than the v4. Better angle on the center reed petals open better. Definitely worth giving it a try. The v3 from the 05+
