I am the ego. Practice one thing ie Attention to self ourself. While practicing we will see thoughts coming and going. Thoughts come from ego. The nature of ego is to give raise to thoughts. Never follow the thoughts. The nature of the ego is to raise thoughts. Never try to control the thoughts because the more you try to control, it becomes more uncomfortable. Just pay your attention on the self. Whenever thoughts arise, just investigate to whom the thoughts araise. The thoughts araise to the me. If thoughts araise to me then Who Am I. Practice the same method to keep your focus on the self. By increased practice on being the self, the attention paid to outside by the ego will subsidice and pure consciousness will shine.
Hi @@sumanmohanan8553 who is searching for what I am is? The I investigates the self to see if oneself is real while dissolving the make believe and illusion of ego. Are we separate from self? No if I am is ego, then i am is not self alone. Oneself alone is always real, always here, always Now! Ego comes and goes, like sleep if you now say I am ego, what you’ve acknowledged is ego is searching for answers in ego. You imagine ego is real and it smells, sees, touches,tastes and hears. Does ego do or says anything. No because ego isn’t real at all. people don’t come into being unless ego comes into being. You think about ego, but don’t exist. You isn’t being anything. We know that the only thing that exists everywhere and always is oneself, alone. So where can there be ego? What’s needed is for I to stop thinking I am doing anything. I is nothing only self. There is nothing to do nothing, only be. Imagination says there is everything. I am is imaginary. I do not exist as an imaginary body. The imagination creates god, that created the world and a universe of imaginary creation. One is all lol. One dreaming of billions of souls inhabiting a world. One planet in a universe, capable of sustaining life. One mother one father, one newborn life. One new existence, one new family. One childhood, ones teenage years. One young man becomes an old man. One life of struggles, fears, success and failures. This experience every one has, of being alive, Where does it come from? How does it begin? When does it appear? And To whom does it appear? Is this real life we experienced, is it real or is it illusionary? Is it happening or not happening? We know that self, alone exists. Do you know a person in a body really exists? cx
Because Bhagavan was answering people on their level Michael cannot give the same answer to us the Sri Ramana Maharshi was giving to some of his closest disciples- We cannot prove to anyone else the truth of Bhagavans teachings yet only suggest they try to practice what he suggests and with continual practice and learning one with sincerity can have the intuition and feel the grace that Bhagavan is the ultimate truth for them - It could be that others might at different times in their spiritual journey be on a different path before they are ready for these teachings and That is why he told many people who asked him questions of what to do with their spiritual service to keep doing what they’re doing sometimes if they weren’t feeling the need to change

I am knowledgeable stuff. We appear to be people in pursuit of happiness. If ego has risen, when's it's first rise? We are not the jivas we appear to be! What i thinks, jivas appear? @@innocenzz Okay, and how is that helping us? Did this knowledge make you miraculously free of suffering? Of course not! Affirming the "end product" of spiritual practice, that is freedom or self-realization is a waste of time. We have no clue what reality is since it is veiled by the powerful force of maya. And that is caused by all of the vrittis in the mind. As long as there is a mind there is no reality but the dream of this phenomenal world which appears very real to us. A first step is to approach proper teachings and that is only done with a clean slate. There are so many half-baked teachers spreading ignorance and all of that needs to be discarded. Well, as Michael explained it in the video. The mind/ego exists because of vasanas and as long as there are vasanas we are bound. These vasanas will only disappear with toil and long effort over an immense period of time practicing vichara. That is what Sri Ramana has taught.

@@innocenzz I see you had a "Byron Katie" experience. First ego was depressed and then with some release it is happy again. However that is still ego. And it still cares even if it insists, "I do not care anymore". That the nature of ego. Thanks for the story, Mooji and the Maharaj are not my cup of tea. How can you know that the Maharaj is not bound by vasanas anymore? You can't, it can only be an assumption. According to Sri Ramana in order to be able to realize self the mind has to be purified over many life times and what that means is that gross desires like for intoxicating substances will be dissolved in the process. Or the desire to sleep with another woman while one is married. That means that a true Jnani is not smoking or -drinking alcohol- (like Nisargadatta Maharaj) and is also not committing adultery (like Poonja) or chasing young girls (like Mooji). Because the mind has not been sufficiently purified realizing self is impossible for these jivas.
