Integra upgrades and differences from US Civic I traded my Civic Si (2020) for a 2024 6-speed Integra. Below are the differences between the 2024 Integra 6-speed and the Civic Si that helped sway my decision. As you can see below, there are way more differences (at least 50) than are spoken of in any RU-vid videos. Hope this helps those of you trying figure out the differences. BTW, as a former Si driver, I have ZERO regrets. The Integra retains the fun-factor of my Si, but also gives me all the premium upgrades I was missing-such a great real-world daily driver. Features not available on ANY ‘24 Civic trim level: 1. Every body panel unique to Integra 2. 5.3” color windshield Heads Up Display 3. 16 Speaker ELS Studio 3D system 4. Microsuede front seats 5. 12-way power driver seat with lumbar 6. Walk-up/welcome lighting feature 7. Lighted exterior door handles (all 4) 8. Lighted interior door handles (front) 9. Ambient LED footwell lights 10. Ambient LED door accent 11. 4 drive modes (including individual) 12. Aluminum bezel around shift boot 13. Adaptive suspension (3 settings) 14. 2-driver memory (seat & mirrors) 15. Auto slide driver seat upon exit 16. Beefier horn (Yes!!! Thank you) beep-beep vs meep-meep 17. Acura specific turn signal click 18. Unique “Jewel Eye” LED headlights 19. Longer warranties (both years & miles) 20. More rigid chassis 21. Standard trim-level door sill badges 22. Trim-level on steering wheel 23. Frameless rear view mirror (auto-dim) 24. Leather ctr console trim (knee guard) 25. Unique shift knob (flat vs rounded) 26. Diamond pattern vents (vs honeycomb) 27. Gloss (vs flat black) B and C pillar 28. Wider, longer body 29. Heated side mirrors w/ signals & reverse tilt feature 30. Full LED ext lighting (incl rear turn sig) 31. Full LED int lighting (incl hatch area) 32. WiFi hotspot 33. Functional side air vents on bumper 34. More sound dampening material 35. Acura cam cover 36. Form fit battery blanket Features not available on the ‘24 Civic Si: 1. Parking sensors front & rear 2. Rain-sensing wipers 3. Power passenger seat 4. Dual zone auto climate control 5. Liftback design w/ more cargo space 6. Full 10.2” digital instrument cluster 7. Leather door trim 8. Rear USB outlets 9. Fog lights 10. Heated seats 11. Qi Wireless phone charging mat 12. Alexa built-in 13. Sunglasses holder 14. Different tuning (according to Acura)

Tedward, you mentioned the base Camry from the 90's. That 1990-94 generation Camry was a beige creation that was at every mall and community college. A decent number of those old Camrys are still going. Granted that 30 year old cars will have wear and tear that is combated by regular maintenance. But mechanically speaking, the beige base 1992 Camry will never die. Toyota made them "too well."
@cadenswain158

I drive a 1999 Toyota corolla VE also known as "Value Edition" . it has a 1.8L 4cyl mated to a 5 speed manual transmission. yes a 90s corolla with a manual trans. 0-60 in 6 seconds with 310,000 miles on the odometer. yes that's right 310k miles and still runs like a top. yes as mr. tedward mentioned, I do have to use a key to lock and unlock the doors. I do have to reach across to unlock and lock other doors, as well as roll up and down crank windows. The only way to open the trunk is with a key, no latch on the inside to open it. the wipers have 3 speeds low med and high, the list goes on. That thing has been my daily for 5 years now and has given me no issues over the 130k miles I've put on it so far. bought it 2nd hand from an older gentleman who bought it new for 9k in July of 1999. he handed me a folder of all the maintenance that was ever done to the car. it was all fluid changes with the exception of all 4 new wheel bearings not long before I bought it. I bought the car for 700 bucks because the clutch was starting to fade. got home after a 3 hour drive and swapped a new clutch kit in, a new rear main seal while I'm there and she was ready to be back on the road 3 days later. I keep adding to that vanilla folder as the previous owner did. however I do my own work so its just notebook paper with logs of what I've done.(all fluid changes, air filters, tires and a clutch job.)

Love your reviews - lots of information, delivered clearly and with humour and enthusiasm. I was particularly interested in this one because I have a Canadian spec Si, and wanted to see how it holds up against the Integra. While I am tempted by the nicer and apparently quieter Acura interior and the adjustable suspension, I'll stick with our Si. Those advantages and the heads up display are nice, but they aren't enough to justify the Integra's higher price, given that our Si has virtually all of the other features you mention as potentially justifying the cost difference vis a vis the US model (e.g.fog lights, parking sensors, turn signals in the mirrors, fully digital instrument display, shift lights, rain sensing wipers, auto-dimming lights, auto-dimming mirror, remote garage door opener and remote home security buttons on the mirror, sunglasses holder, dual zone climate control, heated front AND rear seats, heated steering wheel, navigation system, wireless connectivity and charging for cell phones in the front, two USB jacks for those in the back seats, and a spare tire with jack). If I want leather seats I can always get Katzkins.

Great review! I think the "not a fast car" depends on what you are coming from. You regularly drive 3-400 HP cars so your perspective MAY differ from someone looking to upgrade from a 5 speed Manual 2009 Civic with 230K miles and 140 HP. I've driven it for 13 years. I'm looking for manual Trans, improved performance. I was considering the Si but being late in middle age might appreciate the adaptive dampers. :-) I'm considering the BMW 228 as a stretch purchase. I want LTD or AWD. I bought the 86 Integra liftback new- with its amazing 113 HP! The 90 I bought had 130 but was NOT as fun to drive. Looks like this IS fun to drive and more comfortable for long drives! Not enough power? Got me looking at VW alternatives-but they are rated much lower in reliability. So back to the Integra-OR a 2020 Si? BTW: I saw the Topher's night drive video in his new Type R. NIIIICE. I'd love to drive one-but I don't ever expect to push such a beast to its limits! I AM hung up on 6 second Zero to 60 though. I guess there's tuning, putting in a beefier clutch etc.

It's loud no matter what tires you put on it as the insulation is awful on the Civics unlike the Integra. But wow what a great deal what dumb ass dealer sold you one for under 30k I assume it's just a boring CVT. They keep selling for 35k easy because they are rare.

Tedward, what would you recommend for a new car that makes a nice daily that you don't tired of after a little while, and will last a long time? I have had a 2007 SI coupe that I loved, a 2019 SI coupe I pretty much hated, and a 2021 Mazda CX 5 Signature that is just meh after a year and a half. Most of the tech in the CX I don't use, and I wish the stereo was better. Right now, I'm thinking of trading that CX 5 in on a WRX or BRZ. Anyway, what is fun to drive all the time, and has a good stereo?

If you watch a review on the Canadian Si, it is annoying what got left off the US model. I'd be curious to know if that was an intentional marketing ploy to further separate the Si from the Integra, or due to the chip shortage. (Would be interesting to see if there is a Canadian version of the Integra, and if/how it differs.) Good review. Looks like a lot of extras packed onto the Integra, but not sure it is $ 8k worth. It is the usual marketing thing - make you buy the higher end to get a few features you want, plus a whole lot of other stuff that really wasn't that important to you. I faced that decision to a lesser degree when I bought my /17 BRZ - Limited vs Premium. I was able to option the dimming mirrors and home link (garage door opener in my rearview mirror), and you can do that on either. However the Performance Pack that year was only available on the Limited. I happened to find one with Performance Pack (a bargain - wider wheels, Brembo brakes, Sachs dampers for $ 1200). Probably the biggest difference for daily use is Limited has push button start and the entry system where you can leave the key in your pocket. With the current car shortage and dealer mark-ups, I'm happy to not be in the market right now, but enjoy following current offerings. I wonder how hard it would be for folks to buy a Si in Canada? It's only a half day drive from where I live, and I see Tedward is in New England.

@subvet3668 Год назад
Definitely not the chip shortage as the loaded and more heavily produced Civic Touring lost zero features and came with only a very modest price increase. Si lost a lot of features and gained a 2000+ price increase. Hard to understand.

09:25 I know some cars do that with the side mirror if the switch which you choose a mirror to adjust is toggled on the side of the mirror. For example: if the toggle of that switch is on the right, the right mirror will go down a bit when going into reverse. Same can happen on the other side. I don't know if thats how they did it in Honda and Acura but it works like that in a lot of other brands.

What's really frustrating is the amount of cost cutting. The obvious with the Si being that we don't get a loaded version the way they do in Canada and it's weird how the rear seats aren't red when they are in a 9th gen Si. And the Integra should definitely have rear heated seats and should have ventilated seats. Plus no rear vents for a $37k car. They both seem like really nice cars, but there's no reason to skimp out the way they did.

Nothing wrong with a fancier Civic Si, people! The MSRP gap is really wide, but in reality, a non-marked up Si is hard to come by, and if you can get an Integra for MSRP, the extras might feel like more of a good deal when you're talking a $3-4K gap (as opposed to, say, $9K). Of course, your mileage may vary -- maybe you're one of the lucky ones who has a line on an Si without a dealer markup. ;) For better or for worse, if a Canadian-spec Si were available to us, we might be having a much different conversation -- heated seats, wireless charging, shift lights, full digital display would all be available, and suddenly, an Integra doesn't seem to offer a ton more (at least on paper). Sadly though, that's not the case for U.S. buyers. Ultimately, I think you gotta figure out what is or isn't important to you, and what you can get a reasonable deal on, and go from there. Both seem like pretty fantastic cars to me.
@Tunnelsnakes
@Tunnelsnakes Год назад
It's just like the current generation WRX: not much wrong with it, but nothing particularly spectacular to my eyes either (but hey, at least the WRX has AWD). When you consider that this price segment is already highly competitive and there are plenty of other options out there that have better offerings (in my opinion), it's a legitimate concern to have for the future of this lineup in terms of sales. Add to the fact that Honda/Acura is pretty much self-cannibalizing either way when the Si already exists. I wouldn't deter anyone from getting this car though if they can get one and want one; it doesn't seem like a bad car overall.
