My 18 QV has been parked exclusively in my driveway (100 year old house, no garage) for almost 6 years. The last two years saw torrential rains in the winter and spring and never experienced any leak through type issues.
I'd imagine you ceramic coated it? I have the same problem - century home with no garage, but I still want a QV badly and I want to keep it as long as possible. Have you had any other issues associated with storing outside that long?
Glad you're enjoying the Alfa. I remember sending you a message and telling you to get that back. She's beautiful. I couldn't afford the model youve got but I had a Giulia Speciale and I loved that. She drove so well.
Car is fantastic! I'd leave the exhaust chrome. Looks strong. I also love those 5 hole wheels. I did like the carbon parts you installed. Mirrors great and grill.
The best car in this segment hands down period!! Besides the jaguar project 8 is a very close 2nd place.. the black wing needs to be in your fleet phil 100 percent pls!! When y get ur hands on it I just the way you are with mods you dial that caddy rt in!! Think about it for us pls lol
"I don't wanna tell you the speed"... I few seconds later a speed reader pannel appears 😂 Nice 7-mile ride Phil from Beaver Dam Rd till McLain Rd 👌 I LOVE it as much as the Giulia
Thanks for such a nice review, also road is so beautiful and amazing Alfa must be driven roads like this !! Where is it ? So beautiful like an ver old style also ! Perfect
Beautiful car - For me a much friendlier size as compared to your BMW. Best of luck with car and enjoy the fall season in the northeast. Happy motoring 🤠
Hi Phil. You make some great videos. I have the same year/spec car. I’ve been thinking about an aesthetic upgrade for mine … gold/bronze rims. Do you have any recommendations?
I recently painted the tips on my Stelvio with VHT Engine Enamel on Cast Iron gray and it looks awesome. Highly recommend it! Was really easy, 3 light coats after sanding and IPA wipe, no primer.
I commented a while back about troubles I was having with my '17 QV throwing error codes that the dealer couldn't remedy. I finally traded it in two months ago and got the exact same Rosso Etna you just got. I absolutely love the car and the color. Will be following you closely to see what mods you go with. Got ceramic coating but literally on the drive home from the coating guy kicked up gravel w those sticky tires and got a small chip behind rear tire. On that note, I can't find touch up paint in this color. If you find it please post where you found it.
I have driven different cars that were of the same make, and they drove differently. I owned a car rental company, and had a couple of cars that were the same, and they all drove differently ,even when new. It's like twins, they are the same but different.
I agree with you about the exact spec cars feeling different. When I was shopping new stelvio qvs, I test drove a few and every one had something that felt better than the other. 1 had better brakes. 1 felt like it's noise isolation wasn't as good. The one I settled on felt like it's shock tuning was perfect. Weird situation. For my Giulia 2017 qv, never had issues with water going into passenger foot well but today my wife said she felt water in the stelvio qv. Not sure if related to AC or something else but no rain recently.
Man down south weather is great. Hope you can do your road trip down here soon! The PTM modes on the blackwing are very similar to the camaro ss 1le and it's mind boggling how great it is. I would think cadillac dealers would be begging to sell those cars, really sucks that even if you want something the dealers can ruin it completely.
The color is beautiful. Do you like Red more than the Green? Are you able to drive Giulia QV in Race mode in the winters, rain and stuff on Continental DWS06 Plus? Any thoughts on Stelvio QV vs Giulia QV? Thx so much for wonderful videos.
Great Video I absolutely love this car and your videos are always thorough. I do wish the QV came with an AWD option that would make it a true competitor to other in class vehicles at this price point
what country are you located it seems the USA market got screwed with so many options on these cars since 2020 and all the shortages happening globally. Even most Maserasti Mc20 in the USA do not have CCB brakes it is crazy for cars of that price to have steel brakes.
@@autofanaticcars i think for the normal use of the qv steal brakes are the best use/price for that car. I have asked a lot people about that, some have tried both and they told me to get the steal brakes. If you drive track you def need the ccb.
No real upgrade just different lights and dash cluster im happy with my 23 i prefer look better and analog gauges . Alfa should have revised the entire car to make the 24 different
Do you think the build quality and reliability is up to snuff now to recommend a purchase for prospective buyers ? I had a G80 M3 comp that I just got rid of .
I sold my G80 M3 to go back to the Alfa because the M3 was boring and I just never was excited to drive it daily.. There are not many choices in this segment, M3, Alfa and Cadillac CT4 Blackwing. The BMW has superior panel gaps and paint quality but overall the Alfa has good quality all around. The Cadillac is an awesome driving machine but made with cheap materials in and under it and makes you questions the high price tag. Go drive the Alfa you will be sold.
Youre going to install all the uniball mods of GMS? They actually have made 3 different Bushing to uniball for the Giulia, two are on the arm where the shock sits, and One the caster/camber kit.
I want to know the 🍀 model number, will the fault light and fault code appear? My bro’s 2019 model has a lot of faulty lights. Is there any repair for the 2023 four-leaf clover? Thanks
Great car and beautiful back roads for a leisurely drive, would be nice for cycling on a sunny day as well. The CF add-ons make the car look complete. I would go for a small drop but not if it drastically affected the comfort level. This is a daily driver after all. You want comfort and it already has more than sufficient handling performance for a daily. If the new wheels you're getting will be a plus 1 size then that alone should improve the looks that lowering might not even be necessary. The exhaust could use some modifications to enhance the sound of such a lovely engine. I'm very interested to hear what the resonator delete will accomplish.
car is now lowered and sits perfectly, have not bottomed out yet will have a new video up over the weekend once i get more seat time driving to compile my feedback.
I was hoping you got the Cadillac. I love the design of the AR, but I don't trust the brand enough to feel comfortable getting one. Still love the videos. Thanks for posting
I still might get a Blackwing one day let’s see but dealers have their heads so far up ass there impossible to strike a deal with and thats why nobody is buying them still
That has also been my experience with dealers recently. Cars are sitting on lots but they are not negotiating. The easy money of the last few years are over. They need to wake up!
No major mechanical issues with 2014 CTS Vsport after 9 years of ownership. Magride tends to wear out more quickly and expensive if can’t do yourself. The dealership experience is below average
Forget the Blackwing--I don't care how great it drives if it is ugly! The QV looks better from every angle all day, any day! Throw in the Cadillac dealers acting like they are selling Ferraris--forget it! I was thrilled when I saw you picked up your third Alfa! I understand you that feeling, I'm on my 2nd QV myself (2018 and now a 2021). Selling my 2018 was a mistake, but I made it right with the 2021. I"m happy and this one is staying--I learned my lesson! I just need to upgrade from the PZeros-is there a worse street tire, especially on cool days?
The Blackwings are overpriced and come with mild steel exhausts to cut cost. This turned me off big time. Mild steel will start rotting immediately in winter months. Stay tuned for my video on why i didn’t buy the Blackwing i make very valid points
that was bad gas from a local station that caused this on every single car i own recently, easy to clear and never happened again since we stopped fueling at that station.
that would be a very long wait considering how hard a 23 was to get they are not making many of these cars and they are very delayed to get in the USA.
The QV still holds the NURBURGRING lap record of a RWD car that you can still buy today 7 years later BMW, Cadillac, Audi, Porsche, Mercedes still cannot figure it out.. .its absolutely what the Italians can do and have been doing for 100 years.! 🤣
I am very happy for you... you made the right decision by remaining an Alfista... your car looks proper and you are not gonna have any of the issues that you had before...You are not gonna miss you BMW or the BlackWing.. neither of them can hold a candle to your Giulia...The BMW had awful looks.. and ball breaking seats with the lump under your balls.. I mean who does that.? anyway.. BTW the larger gaps are aerodynamic and the car is way better engineered than the BMW.....Dont waste your money with the ALFISSIMO springs.. they are a waste of time...car runs better stock as a daily driver
I am too but after the M3 there aren’t many options under $100k that are fun practical sedans besides the Cadillac which i really wanted but the dealerships made no effort to sell me a car so i gave up
