Can't believe I forgot to mention this in the video. Fan noise is very good on this model. Even when connected to an external display, it's totally silent on the 'Silent' Armory Crate profile and mostly silent on 'Balanced' in normal use including 4k RU-vid. It does get a bit noisy gaming as you'd expect and you'll hear it for more demanding tasks like video editing as well.
thank you for this review, i've been looking into some laptops as an investment for college that have good color accuracy and performs well in gaming. It's currently my top option against some of the other models like the 2023 g14 or 2024 omen transcend 14.
I've recently been traveling and have done more photo editing exclusively on the G16's screen than I had before. I've realized that while it has a neutral tone unlikely to cause major color balancing issues, it's more washed out/undersaturated than I had realized, which could cause issues dialing in color on vibrant imagery. While I still think it is accurate enough to make content that isn't noticeably off color, it isn't ideal if you're studying design or another field where precise color usage will be evaluated as a factor in your assignments. Both the 2023 G14 and HP Omen Transcend will be more accurate.
I don't think weight will be an issue at all as it's only a bit over 4lbs which is quite good for a 16-inch laptop. You will need a fairly large bag, but anything that works for a 16-inch Macbook Pro should work for the G16.
I received the laptop, and it's excellent. However, I must point out that the screen gets hot from the fans. I'm not sure if this will have long-term effects.
I got the 2024 version with the 4070 GPU. I tried it for gaming and the fans aren’t that loud for me. I love the size and weight. It’s very mobile and not very heavy.
Same are you having heating issues ?? I'm literally running minecraft java with all maxed settings and after about 4 hours it laggs to the point where I have to restart. Also I forgot to add im modding the hell outta it
@@AndrewGerdes-w3z make a character on whitemane in classic wow. You’ll be surprised how many people are playing. The server is so crowded. I play in alliance.
If I may offer a piece of feedback for future videos: If you're going to show gaming performance, be sure to put the minimum/maximum frame rates as static figures somewhere, probably under the title of the one you're testing. It's almost impossible to read the performance overlay when watching on a phone. Good review otherwise.
Ive been pondering about whether i should buy this or not for around 3 months now, i genuinely don't know if i should buy now or wait for better laptops in the price range
@douglarsen4801 wow dude that's a steal.. I spent 1400 on mine and that was on sale. It gets super hot. Idk why people complain about the fan so much it's a gaming laptop running good hardware
I'm in a dilemma. In my country I can get the Lenovo LOQ with a i7-13650HX and with 16gb of DDR5 for a similar price to the Asus G16 What do u suggest I do?
sometimes units ship with terrible thermal paste application from the factory and the whole laptop suffers because of it. consider changing it. might help
Absolutely. Hard to do much better for the price on a brand-new laptop, and it's not even that easy to do better going used if you're looking for something in good condition.
@@Vasileio_tis_Ellados that's awesome 👀 but i did spend alot of my money lol I'll wait until black friday and see if there will be deals like this or might just grab this one
I was looking for a review like this. For a price 1350Euro do you think it's still good? ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 GU603VI-N4015W - Gaming Laptop - 16 inch - 240Hz Also I was afraid that I won't be able to upgrade the memory, can you put a link for the memory you got? Thanks
Looks like that model has a faster CPU, an RTX 4070 and a better screen, so that seems like a pretty fair price for a brand new laptop with good build quality and those specs. This is the memory I used to upgrade from 16GB to 32GB: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09KN7463D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@@AndrewThrasher1987 The model I want is with 16 ram and rtx 4060. I got conflicted details from two retailers. One says it's possible and one does not, so I'm confused. Can I know from did you get the laptop? or it's model number? Thanks again!
@@phoenixonfire97 Looks like that’s the same model I have, which I purchased from Best Buy.
