I will simply say that because of you, I went from 0 fountain pens to 40 (shared with girlfriend). I'm still a student without a lot of money to burn, but you made me realize that I could still collect extraordinary pens without costing a fortune. I started with Chinese pens and am now restoring old vintage pens because of you. Oh, and Bingo.
Doug, you and your channel are the moment, you're giving us everything. The other channels are giving us nothing. There simply aren't enough words to convey how much I love this channel.
Doug, your Asvine V126 review helped me decide to make the Asvine 126 my first Vac Filler pen. I received my Translucent Blue Asvine V126 today 8-17-24 and I am thrilled very happy with it. I had to follow your "complete fill" instruction a few times but other than that I have a great pen. The medium nib is very smooth and buttery right out of the box!!!! It show off the Private Reseve American Blue Ink really well. Thank you for your reviews
Brand new viewer, long time pen-junkie, but just recently started getting back into fountain pens & have been going back & forth over a vacuum filler & this video helped me to decide. Can't wait for my order to arrive!
wow. I gotta get one of these. This was just the type of review I was looking for, and most importantly, it wasn't sponsored by Asvine showing this is an honest review.
Love your videos and all the interspersions. I'm so informed by watching them that when I spot something on sale I have no hesitation in knowing when to say Bingo!
I find it difficult to fathom that over your channels lifetime someone somewhere sat down watched a video not a hundred times, not a thousand, not a million but two million times. That's phenomenal! Congratulations, I find this almost as difficult to fathom as a game of bingo.
I've been really impressed with the quality of Chinese pens over the past couple years Asvine (Hongdian) and Mahjon (Moonman) have been putting out excellent pens at their price point. Add the ability to nib swap some of them to something of a higher quality, and you've got a great pen with the same writing experience as a pen worth much more.
I don't see Asvine as an extension of Moonman/Majohn. I believe Esybuy wanted to have their own brand. They are using some of the suppliers that PenBBS/Moonman/Narwhal/etc use but the design is theirs. I will not add the secret word as I have a V126 & I LOVE it too.
Thanks Chris. Your review was terrific as always. I didn't know the brown one was clear and that is the reason for the lower price. That's a good point about Sally wanting her own brand. Could be. I should ask her. :) The V126 is the best pen from China yet this year. I ordered two more.
Greetings from the vegetable-and-fruit-bare UK! Great review as always, Doug; thank you for everything you put out - great entertainment! That Moonvalurine pen looks lovely! Bingo!
Thanks for the review, Doug! The pen looks great and it's always nice to see a new vacuum filler at an affordable price. Good nib, good construction and interesting filling system? Bingo! 😉
In truth, I really enjoy these videos Doug and in large part that's due to your personality. But the videos are also full of useful and practical information that has inspired me to purchase four pens that I would not otherwise own, each one of which cost me less than ten bucks (US) including shipping. So thanks so much and BINGO.
My dear Doug you and your channel are as beautiful as the breath of the wind that passes through the branches of a tree that brightens my summer days, as beautiful as the sun that warms and calms my autumn afternoons, as splendid as the ink that flies on the blank page making my thoughts indelible and eternal. Matteo
Your channel's witty, warm, and wise With all the grandeur of an elephant. And while I hope to win the prize, I am not just a sycophant. This is the bright spot of my Saturday: Good pens and cheerful lingo. Though I may buy it anyway, That Asvine's cool, so - Bingo!
A Miranda reference?!?! Now I’m really impressed! 😂 Apparently, as a Greek, I’m supposed to show you some figs… (you figure it out!). So there you have it. Bingo! ;-)
How are you Doug? Well, I like a lot of things on your videos: 1st. you show budget chinese fountain pens, 2nd. comparisons are pretty cool and 3rd. writing samples are honest... Videos are fun also... Thanks. BINGO
I just got this pen today, it comes pretty close to a custom 823 except for the nib. I still like the fit & finnish of the 823 better but for a tenth of the price, this pen is an absolute winner.
That Asvine V126 is truly a lovely pen. I had never thought of adding a vac-filler to my small collection, but this is the pen that could well make me change my mind. Now to fill the free space and cry Bingo!
Hi Doug...here I am all the way from you as I live in a city in Kansas (mid-USA) called Leawood. As a compliment to you, I watch everything you create here on RU-vid as I no longer watch TV anymore. RU-vid is my new friend for knowledge and entertainment. A wealth of information and pleasure right on my keyboard and available anytime day or night! And...contrats on TWO Million views! Wow! I enjoy your sense of humor and facts about fountain pens. You're a great presenter! And in closing, I'll simply say BINGO !
HaHa … I love your short film clips, guitar playing etc. and the way you change things up a bit , nice you’re not reading a script, ( if so, good job 😂) making it so natural your own personality comes through… you always point out ( talk about) interesting things and new things I didn’t know … also you’re very good about talking about Pens that we can actually afford … not just want😊 lol Bingo !!
I look forward to Saturday mornings in anticipation of a new pen review by you. This pen looks like a real winner, which I hope to be in this giveaway. Bingo!
I had a Twsbi vac, then my wife made her own traveler’s notebook cover and my twsbi vac went away. Honestly I look forward to videos every week, shorties and regular. When I spot it: BINGO!🎉
Congrats on 2 million views!! It makes sense, you're one of the few pen channels that's willing to openly state when you don't like something. Keep the hot takes coming! Bingo!
It's good to know about parts compatibility between different brands. What I like about your channel is that in addiction to the good humor, the pens shown are within reach of many .
Doug, you’re beard is epic! I like this little pen, the finish is outstanding. I have a blue 699 but will grab one of these, it looks more refined. Thank is for keeping us entertained. We hit Bingo!
Doug, I want to thank you for continuing to make videos about fountain pens which are not luxury pens but functional and affordable for those of us who may not be able to afford the luxury brands all the time. I can collect a nice looking, working fountain pen because you show these pens and Instead of buying blindly I have the knowledge from your review to know how the pen works and writes. I can enjoy collecting fountain pens even on a tight budget because of your reviews of them. I love to collect fountain pens, but being without a normal budget that a working person has I must save to get the luxury pen that I want. You alone are the one I trust to get accurate information about a pen I want to buy, because you are so thorough and think of everything, down to taking pens apart and comparing parts within. I have seen NOBODY else on RU-vid that does that! Doug, thank you again for another perfect pen review! You know my comments are often long-winded and well, just long. I am editing this by adding that this comment is my natural way of commenting, and not sycophantic in any way. I only write what is true, you have been the one I go to for advice always! also forgot to congratulate you on 2 MILLION VIEWS FOR YOU!! The Soup Nazi in me says: "LOTSA SOUP FO YOU!" CONGRATS DOUG, WAY TO GO!!! 🎊😁😁😁 BINGO!
A quick shoutout to say thanks for the awesome giveaway you're currently hosting. It's super cool of you to offer something like that to your viewers, and I'm having a blast participating. You're the best! Thanks again, and Bingo!
Congratulations on 2M views, Doug! I really enjoy your reviews, and appreciate when you go in depth regarding the more complicated filling systems and how to disassemble them (I'm not very mechanically-minded lol). I love my Asvine V169 so it's nice to see a lighter vacuum-filler made by them with the same kind of smooth-writing nib. I'm glad they made the acrylic frosted, as opposed to clear plastic; that little detail sets them apart from the pack, at least in that regard. Here's to millions and millions of more views on your fine YT channel! 👏🥳🎉
Great review as always. I'm pleased that these are all using the same mechanism, should be easy and cheap to get a hold of parts if there's ever a failure. If I win, I promise to say BINGO on every fill.
It's always nice to see vac fillers at affordable prices. nice classic design, nothing too fancy but it's not too simple a interchangeable nib is always a plus. Fantastic review as always, Just wait till you hit 2 billion views you deserve it. Bingo
The frosted blue with polished gold accents is a very nice-looking combination. Reminds me of a Fender Custom Shop or Ibanez Prestige. Congratulations on 2 million views! BINGO
Doug, the balance of humor and information in your videos is 2nd to none, so congratulations on the 2M views! I don't own any vac-fillers because there's always been something that makes those pens unappealing to me - the price, or the looks, or the building quality. But, bingo, I think Asvine has a winner on their hands with this one. 😀
Hi Doug, congrats with the 2M plus 1 views (yes I’m already including mine), only 999 999 more to go for the 3M views milestone😉. Keep up the good work and thanks for all the past video’s and content. Your reviews are always BINGO
I was interested in the first Asvine P20 because of its design, however I'm a big fan of posting my pens and that model wasn't great at it and BINGO! the Asvine 126 looks just as good and posts even better! I might be getting one of them soon.
Wow Doug we have such a big community. It's all ur efforts, u make such comedy editing in the videos that makes it not just a pen review but a short humours movie. That leaves me to say Bingo... such a fun..
Once again a review that answers all my questions before I ask them. Love that matte finish on my favorite style pen, a cigar shape. Thanks for the info on other pens that use the same size nib unit for ease of changing nib sizes. BINGO
I'm just now getting into fountain pens again, after a 4-year hiatus, and I'm glad I found your channel, it's been really helpful to revive this hoby. Bingo!
Why am I always drinking Tea , and your jokes catch me off guard, I'm gonna have to keep wipes on my desk this is getting ridiculous. :D But the ability to post so well really makes me want to break my no pen buying until 6 months into the year rule. Well lets hope I can hold on for another few months. My list continues to grow.
Kudos to another captivating review -- and to the correct pronunciation of Asvine! I *knew* it was still possible to teach an old Doug...I mean Dog...new tricks. LOL, and BINGO!
@@InkquiringMinds I like your Nahvalur solution Doug! Here's the video I did last year on the pronunciation front -- having Britumn Li inform me directly: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-87DMekVUdi0.html
A Pilot 823 in all but name? Bingo. But seriously, I jumped the gun when I saw these on AliExpress & bought five because it was just too good to be true. Hope the mail comes soon... Now to get FNF to make a converter.
Marvelous presentation. Nicely detailed review. Great comparison. Wonderful presenter. Did I do well? It is certainly a pen I would consider. As I have the Nahvalur Original Plus, it is great I see this pen will post, not that I will but it is a nice option that others do not do. I do not have a Medium nib, so I would love to use it. I have asa-gao ink, with is pen will match with the ink quite well. Thank you again for a wonderful video, Doug. BINGO!
New subscriber here. I like the depth of your reviews, certainly I learn a lot of the fountain pens you are reviewed and help me tremendously in my new purchases. I'm not new to fountain pens but I used them a lot of in my elementary and middle school then came the switch to roller pens and my cursive went to hell👺. Now I'm coming back to them with that nostalgic sentiment of a time when good and smooth writing was important. It is relaxing and all the time I gravitate to the container were I keep my pens, inks and good paper. Thank you for your time is appreciated. Ohh. Bingo
Thanks so much for this review!! I purchased a fine nib pen from this brand based on your review, and I was so impressed I just purchased a second one!!
Hmmmm... I should wait to comment until after the video is over - but then I'd forget my question!! Thanks for these reviews and your responses to questions - Bingo!!
Doug your expertise and knowledge about pens, giving fair reviews on pens irrespective of cost or from which country they originated from and of course your skills to talk with humour and at the same time giving good professional display of pens and features is what makes your channel so special..great quality videos with music, display always tempt me to buy new pens 😅..Bingo!
Love the look of this Asvine. I recently purchased the Asvine P30 and absolutely fell in love with how well it wrote. I'm not independently wealthy lol so when I saw the P30 I just had to have it. Love the videos and reviews. It's because of you that I have the small collection that I do today.
I've been hearing about this brand for while now, but didn't consider getting one because I'm not fond of the metal housing. But this new translucent cigar pen is enticing. Thanks! Bingo.
