Nice one! I just tested the mitigator 325g clutch weight on my 300 TBI and it was awesome in the gnarly stuff. Took some of the bite out of the bottom but won’t freaking stall.
@@highlandcycles I have a buddy that lives in Pueblo, CO . He has some fun bikes and just picked up a new TRS trials bike...when I get out that way maybe we can ride!
I think you're faster on the Beta cuz you're able to use the power more... the KTM might be a handful but wiht more seat time, I have no doubt the KTM would be a faster bike overall. It's surprisingly close though, thanks for doing these tests!
Glad you like the channel! Back to back rides are fun and effective way to get a feel for different bikes. Yes the 300 TBI engine in the '23 KTM/Husky 300 XC/TX is very responsive and quick while the Beta 300RE engine is just so easy to ride. Wonder if the slightly different ergos on the 23 TX300 will close the gap to the Beta 300RE? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vTrzEuk31ZY.html
Always liking the comparisons and getting into the tech a little I found similar traits between my 2018 beta 250rr and current 2022 husky te250i. For slower speed I just preferred the beta. Could really rail those single track corners. faster speeds more open / jumps the husky hands down. Put it down too: Much shorter swingarm on the beta Beta lower cog Beta slimmer and more compact Husky better suspension (my beta had sachs) with greater travel Beta steeper steering angle ? Beta engine was a gem but twice ignition main bearing let go and the sachs forks junk. Keep ‘em coming !!
Glad you enjoy the channel! Interesting to hear you has similar feelings about the Beta turning on tight trails. I wonder if the all new chassis feels the same to you? KYB suspension is impressive on my 300RE. Not so many miles or hours on my '23 Beta 300 Race Edition yet but it sure works well so far!
@@mxengineer1 I haven’t ridden a new chassis 20’+ beta otherwise i may have bought one. I still ride with our beta dealer occasionally but haven’t had the chance as of yet. Bet your beta a killer setup enjoy !!
It is still a split decision for me (even with AER forks on the KTM). Both bikes are fun to ride and both have different character in terms of engine and handling.
Not to hijack the comments, but I’m curious if you have ridden/reviewed the Sherco 450 SEF Factory? I looked through your videos and did not see anything?
Now Sherco 450 SEF rides yet. I have ridden the 2020 Sherco 300 SEF - quick turning/handling, smooth power, KYB suspension was firm and set up for faster riding.
If you were more of a woods rider, the beta ,KBY suspension, quicker turning lower seat height ! Track, desert, more wide open flowing trails KTM. Great video. What do you think of the 250 cc counter parts of these to bikes . That is if you had a chance to ride them , if not it would be a great two to try out.
I got a short spin on a '23 KTM 250SX. The 250 engine has super smooth power (especially in the white map) and almost zero vibration. I did spend an afternoon on a 21 KTM 250XC TPI and that bike was really good and TBI should be even better engine wise in terms of low to mid power...ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6Wp6PKy75Pk.html
That is tough! For me perhaps a slight edge to the KTM for less vibration and I like power...then I think about the KYB suspension on the Beta and the Beta has lights....SPLIT decision!
@@mxengineer1You can have the ktm stator re-wound for about 70 extra watts @ 200 bucks (ricky). Nice halogen or entry level led is less than 50 bucks. That just leaves the suspension preference.
