Bishop Greg concludes this year’s theme “The Spirituality of St Teresa of Avila: This great 16th Century mystic helps us understand ourselves and shows us how to pray.”
From California I thank you for taking time to talk to us about St. Teresa's spirituality. When I worship Jesus in Eucharistic adoration I am existentially aware that Jesus is present and I am talking with Him directly. At other times of prayer, for example morning prayer at home, I find myself reciting the beautiful psalms and sending them up like incense to the Lord, but I do not picture the Lord receiving them. I will try to do better than that. Thank you, again
Thank you so much, dear Bshp. Homeming. May God bless you with more strength, good health, and time ... to share with us more of your Friendship experience with Him.
Jesus is my true and faithful LOVER…He loves me like no other..He is the source of my joy..that the world cannot give..it is His love that enables me to love others too.. in Him I trust and entrust..everything. He is ALL that the world, cannot be😍 My God, thank you for your love most especially for my unlovable self. Continue to reach me to lobe..as you do😇
Unfortunately, there is no guarantee one soul mate choose someone other than you. Many detractors exist today. Lust, decadence, money, fame, glory, vanity.. . .The worldly alludes can and do overpower the spiritual much too much. We have become a material world. At so.e point, you have to accept your reality and let him go his own way if he doesn't return your love. If he ever wakes up to what he's missing, hopefully you'll still be available. There is always hope. But don't wait for him. Move forward. A love relationship is better than no live at all. B.
Many thanks for Lenten teaching. Renewing, refreshing. Many thanks for the online ministry, I await Mass each week, great to register to readings, homily for daily prayer.
Dear Bishop, beautifully delivered and I always learn so much from your talks. A big question - all this about prayer, love, detachment and humility ... how can ordinary Catholics pursue this when you and St Teresa of Avila spend your life dedicated to God fulltime.
God is Love and is freely given to us throigh the Son. God's love is poured into your heart by the Holy Spirit and this same Spirit prays/ loves on your behalf. And the Holy Spirit is given not only to priests and religious but to those whom God chooses to give.
Timothy 4:3 Giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2.. 3. Forbidding to marry, Mathew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
all's I ever wanted from the church was to be brought in with love and understanding, all's I ever got was judgemental rejection,...fine....you are your own taskmasters..........delete this comment as well.
SOULMATE - HOW TO KNOW. First, a soulmate is exactly as named: there is ONE person b in the universe at the same time as you are who carries part (half) of your soul. The tell-tale signs. 1. As a child and young adult, no matter the company, you felt a lack of "belonging." You always felt like something important was missing in your life. 2. When you meet or encounter someone who excites you with every communication and you hang on their every word. Soon, you know you would die for them. 3. True soul-mates eventually discover they have a telepathic connection of sorts: some literally communicate mentally; others finish each other's sentences; still other's have an understanding canny ability to always just know what the other needs or is feeling (has a powerful empathic ability with just this one other soul over time). 4. Accepts the other person's good and bad traits unconditionally. The only thing that matters primarily is pleasing the other soul. 5. Nothing the other soul does deters your loving them. You hold on with both hands is just imperative to you. You don't think about it as much as "it just is." 6. No matter how many times you try to give up on them, you can't. You keep coming back. Without constant contact, even ONEWAY, you feel desolate and out of synch. 7. Even if they give you the cold shoulders and denies a connection, you persist and endure because you not only believe, "you know." 8. When you spend every moment of each day thinking about their good points (and there are definitely many and mostly good points in the relationship). 9. The physical though powerful takes a backseat to the spiritual connections (how he builds you up; comforts you; teaches you; mentors you; cares for you; protects you; knows how to love you, etc.). 10. You need his strong arm as your stronghold more than you need his body for whatever. You are pulled to his soul or spirit more than physical chemistry and this is the true basis for your physical attraction. In other words, you are attracted to the essence of the person more than to the physical traits or body of the person. Actually, you don't even need to know what s/he looks like to love him or her, but upon seeing them you are "pulled" intrinsically toward them and it makes you simply light up! (If you have a photo of them, you only need to look at it a few times a week rather than all day and then it's only to kiss it or admire it. Soul-mates do not lust for each other because their connection is higher than the physical. Their spiritual SHARED SOUL simply calls to itself. There is only one soul-mate per person. The soul does not do multiple splits, only in half. HALF N HALF is often the preferred coffee creamer but this is optional. There are other signs but these are the ones that lead up to sharing an abode, signs you notice while still getting to know each other. If three or more of these is missing, give your relationship more time to mature. This is a good guide for every couple considering the long-term relationship that marriage is meant to be.
