What I love about these reviews and what I find unique about your channel is your knowledge of actual car design. A lot of other review channels say a few words about the actual design language and then move on which is fine but you have the ability to not only clearly explain your thoughts but also design them and give viewers an example of what you're talking about. Kudos!
I test drove this and I have to say, it's not a bad car. But I own both an E91 from 2011 and E39 from 2001 and this car comes nowhere near those legendary BMWs. It doesn't feel like a bimmer, it doesn't drive like one... It's a great car, not a good BMW.
I bought a '22 330i X Drive. I like the front of the '23 a bit better, but I prefer the infotainment of the '22 better. This is my first BMW and love it. Mineral Gray with Cognac interior. Excellent acceleration and handling. As a digital photo teacher, I really enjoy watching your Photoshop techniques.
Kinda disappointing grill looks confused like two separate grills and the side line is bizarre. Oh no! And unfortunately cheapest looking interior iv ever seen on a beamer . This yrs model will certainly go down as a total miss
The previous looks better to me, and the gloss black always cheapens any car, especially when it's used over large areas...In this case, the "bumper"-grille area. I don't get the gaping mouth lower grille in the first place (on this and with others). Seems an unfortunate trend. Regardless, any black should be satin, including wheels when so equipped (not flat/matte though), and less of it. Speaking of cheapening: that tacked on instrument-info panel!! My .02.
Look at the non-M sport version, it doesn’t have the huge grill and the weird rear bumper and all the gloss black trims, less sporty but much classier and toned down. Still beautiful though.
Front bumper is almost comical. A very awkward "underbite". Gracious curves (hood/lights) meet stealth fighter harsh angles (bumper) in a horrible transition.
Bring back actual gauges instead of reading everything off of a screen too. There is nothing, like the real physical touch of things. Because once the screen goes black then the car is very useless at that point without those functions and a very, very exorbitant repair bill to get those functions back to working. I'm not driving any vehicle that doesn't have anything physical and has a bunch of screens that will have problems within a month or few of ownership.
For the record, just because they have physical dials doesn't mean they are not digital. My car had an electronic issue and the speedometer didn't move.
I agree, and bring back actual gauges instead of reading everything off of a screen too. There is nothing, like the real physical touch of things. Because once the screen goes black then the car is very useless at that point without those functions and a very, very exorbitant repair bill to get those functions back to working.
@@CB12345 Eh SOME key buttons I am fine with. But I definitely do not want to go back to old school cars with 20+ buttons on the center console/control stack. I am more than fine with touch controls as long as they are on a fast enough screen. And analogue gauges? No thanks. Way too old fashioned for me. I have had modern cars with more touch screen focus for a while now, and I am convinced that implementation is key, not the touch vs physical. Poor physical buttons implementation is also not good and can become either unintuitive or an overload.
This guy is bringing a whole new approach to vehicle review…it’s stimulating some great ideas in me that I wish to share with him…he could change the phase vehicle review entirely and usher in a new erA
i definitely think the lci is a failure, as you know and even pointed out.... those front and back with huge black geometry completely destroyed the look... you kept on saying you would have changed them, which were obviously bad design as you pointed out yourself. so be fair to yourself if not to BMW. lol lastly, the interior monitor with no style but a TV, supported by a stick on the back side visually just so horrible as the monitor will fall out off anytime.... well you knew it was not stylish... just say so. you loose your credibility if you don't...lol
do you think 19'' wheels are ok for daily driving on a little bit bad roads, ok roads and highway ? i think 19'' are to big and tiers are to small, what about you ? ( speed will not be over 180mh/h)
Cars didn't use to have a fatal flaw where you just say NO to it. Like that screen that looks like someone took an aftermarket screen from Amazon and shored it up with some angle piece on the back rather than an integrated panel or two panels and some easy switches to hit quick if you want to do recirculation or other feature. I say NO to it, I would never, ever buy this, can't look at it.
I just bought a brand new 2023 BMW M340i xDrive and it is a beautiful, fun and exhilarating driving machine. I traded in my 2020 X3 M40i which was a very nice SUV. But the difference in the driving pleasure between these 2 Bimmers made it very worthwhile for me to trade, very happy that I did. Its 382 HP engine is so sweet, smooth and very powerful. It is car that puts a big smile on the driver's face whenever they drive this beauty. If you are thinking about getting a car that you will enjoy driving then I do recommend this amazing model. You will be a very happy owner .... I guarantee it.
Regarding your comment on improvement of front bumper design, you are clearly wrong, OBJECTIVELY. First, they designed such a way with considerations of best aerodynamics and front impact absorption. Second, that black bar serves as space for front license plate that MANDOTORY in almost all other countries. BMW not making cars for you guys alone..
BMW nailed it with this generation. I’ve had 5eries F10 & G30. Lease was over and took a chance with the 2022 G20 MSport & I love it w/ Active Suspension. People have asked me “is this the new 5series” since this body is muscular & bigger. A+ Great review n renderings
Talking 60k out the door little much!! This would be great at 50k price point there are far too many choices at 56k today!!I mean u can get a scar pack charger for that money with 485hp!! And loads of fun and practicality too! Big sedan take the family and do the quarter mile in 12secs lol 😂
That screen is clumsy. Makes the front feel and look small. Not great for the passenger looking out. Not understanding the design language, very narrow air vents and controls to minimise footprint but then a large rectangle wider screen?
It’s crazy that this guy isn’t a designer at BMW. He makes tweaks that we all subconsciously know are necessary, but don’t have the ability to vocalize or draw.
Big blob 😂😂😂. The last agile 3 series was E46. And the long infotainment screen is the worst thing. I liked the original round dashboard style with a separate small infotainment screen. I like the Porsche style.
The deffuser is garbage, you didnt attack that. The auto grill is not good at all, its going not to funktion when it is winter time and it will brake automatically. The only good thing i think is the displays and a newer motor thats all. The f30 lci is better looking car i think
That gens wagon is actually one of the only bmw Station Wagons i like. Otherwise, if youre buying a bmw, please let it be a coupe, a limousine, an suv but not a Station wagon
I actually kind of miss the notch in the headlight of the pré-LCI model. I found that to look rather good. Apart from that, this LCI version is a major improvement on an already beautiful car though, especially the M-sport package, which I have on my car, looks sooo much more aggressive. I particularly like the aggressive "spoiler" on the LCI M-sport rear because, although it is not a real spoiler of course, it is so much more pronounced in the LCI than before. Love it
