Im interested to know why this system received an S tier over the pre-LCI model which received an A. Does this system improve from the old model? Thanks for the great content!
@@abayamangali they did. M5 lci in 2020 and m8 a bit later on. But I think Charlie made a vid on the facelifted m5, certainly not better. That's where my decision lays for the E63
The base makes all the difference, ergo the car to start with: Obviously the similar system in Volvos is worse since the Volvo is simply inferior in terms of sound deadening, materials, size, (and everything non-sound related as well obviously) so this'll play really well. Even a worse system would sound great in a X5/X7 because of the perfect platform. For being a OEM system it's the best out there buuuuut it still needs a bit of help in the low-lows. (if we're picky) And more sound treatment would up it even more even if we're talking minute differences here. But the Bowers & Wilkins is the only OEM system (both BMW's and Volvo's) that actually matches aftermarket sound quality vs dollars. Usually sound quality like these high end systems can be obtained for half the cash through aftermarket but yeah, not in this case really. Glad a rare few manufacturers realize how important music is in a car.
Couple of thing, hearing over time changes, hearing loud music will compress ears (we use to do that to musicians that bugged us in the recording booth) so that way everything started sounded better in the mix (dont ask)/…have you tried spectrum analyzer. Or getting different age folks in there. You might be surprised what their thoughts might be…or even listening from the passenger side or rear seat…..I enjoy watching your videos …heck of a lot better than most..thanks for taking the time and doing this…
What's the best mid size car system you have heard? Savage geese has most vehicles measured by a audio engineer with graphs and measurements. He said that the Genesis g90 Lexicon and jaguar XJ meridian were the best car s he's listened to and tested.
@@barbecuetechtips6024 The volvo Bowers & Wilkins systems are really some of the best out there. My moms XC90 has the B&W option and its truly incredible.
@@DailyMotorSound I see, I currently have a 2017 Lexus RX450h with Mark Levinson and was wondering how it would fare compared to this system, can't wait to see about the new RX ! :)
Thanks so much for the great info on speaker systems! I am interested in your opinion about the acoustic system in the Mercedes GLE Burmester compared to the acoustic system in the BMW X7 Bowers & Wilkins, which audio system is better in your opinion?
Thanks for the reply I use to always think that cars like audi's and bmw would have a nice premium sound system especially if it's bose with their panaray or bang & olufsen which is even more premium than bose
There's a degree of factoring in price and usability into the ratings, but to the average listener, blind tested, I believe they'd find the Mazda 3 Bose to be similarly good as the EQS Burmester.
