Just because it's old-school, doesn't mean it's completely useless. I'll never go tubeless for road bikes. MTBs, I can consider.

I have ordered a Merida Scultura V back in june, first they said i shouldnt order, or i have to be very patient. I said i'm. They chqd in their schedule and it is expected to come in april/may. So its already half way done of the waiting. He was quite sarcastic: said the new scultura, already 1 year out at that time, is a very nice bike, but he havent seen it in real life even if he sells them, and laughed. I have tried a couple other lbs. Cube bikes, he wont order anything, they r still behind his order from 2021 march(1year+). Scott shop, said he calls them and ask when will it be aviable, he still havent called me back, if it ever will be. Same bike shop with Giants, they r expect some bikes in 2023 may, he ordered in 2021! In another lbs i could have bought La pierre, right my size it was there, but i really didnt like the look of their bikes. They also sell De Rose, but couldnt say anything about them :(

@@ThomasHubik Whoever the brand is.. They present the bikes then deliver a few and a long time later. Meanwhile the new model comes out 😂 crazy stuff! I ordered S5 but who knows when this bike will be delivered to me🤷‍♂️

@Shadowboost it's a lottery though. Having made the switch from press fit on a Cervelo S5, to screw in BSA BB on an SL7 I will never go back to shonky pressfit BB and all the issues that too often come with press fit.

While this bike looks sexy as hell, I fully agree with you. I have a 2007 R3. Until recently the R3 was my "go to" for the road. When you ride a lot, things get used up, and other than the stem and the seat post, I've replaced every other component on the bike, sometimes multiple times (the bike is on its 4th wheelset and 3rd crankset at this point). The fact that this frame withstood the amount of abuse it has received is a great testament to the product that Cervelo produced. My 2007 R3 frame has a threaded BB, and I can say definitively that this has been one of my favorite things about the bike, as it has never creaked or caused me problems of any kind. Given my experience with the R3, I was considering going with Cervelo for my new bike, wanting to run wider rims & tires, electronic shifting, disc brakes, and all the good stuff that comes with a new roadie. I talked to some friends who were riding Cervelo bikes they had purchased in the last 2-5 years and there was a consistent theme in their feedback; they were enjoying their bikes, but the BB often creaked and it was a pain in the ass to deal with. Taking this feedback into consideration, I wrote to Cervelo, to see if they planned to change their stance. After all, multiple brands had reverted to tapered BB's in the last few years, and I held out hope they would do the same, even if it would cost them more to build their frames that way. To Cervelo's credit, they wrote me back, with a short note explaining that they had no plans to go away from BBRight and that they have full confidence in their design. I thanked them for their note, and explained that I wouldn't be buying one of their bikes, and I picked up a Specialized Aethos instead, which remains as creak free as the day I purchased it, in spite of riding it frequently on gravel or in the rain.
