2023 might have been a pivotal year for you but it’s easy to tell you have put a ton of time and energy into building your skills and playing your own style. You definitely deserve the recognition plus way more!!
I came up to jax beach with my best friend and we saw you last year. The next day we ran into you at guitar center. Best of luck to you and your music career you are a hell of a guitarist!
double commenting for the first time ever : ) It may feel weird, but showing gratitude for the people and situations that have helped you is always a great idea.
Hi Dylan - Interestingly, my first encounter with your videos was not through Rhett Schull's videos but through a RU-vid search on playing slide guitar in standard tuning, with slide on pinkie, and fretting behind the slide! I had decided during 2022 to work on and improve my slide playing, and your methods fitted perfectly with what I was after. I have found your videos and playing inspirational, and I would like to thank you for providing the perfect platform for me to improve my own skills in slide guitar playing, which it has done immensely.
Loving you playing a lot. Andy Wood just shouted you out on his live stream yesterday, I had to subscribe. So cool man, I look forward to any music you play now.
I’ve been a follower of yours since I saw you via Rhett. I look forward to watching your star rise - good luck. A prediction and bit of advice; I can’t wait until I see you play with Derek Trucks. As your new, uncharted career takes off, don’t forget to take care of yourself along the way. Enjoy life, establish some balance with those close to you, and don’t burnout.
The first thing I thought after watching Rhetts' video on you was "man, that guy can play" but as I've continued watching I've also noticed you were prepared to get the spotlight. You've improved your content both in volume and in quality. I'm excited to see more from you and I wish I could support more! Picked up slide because of your videos and I'm loving the new experience relearning a familiar old thing.
Dylan - you are such an awesome player. On that video you mention (that blew Rhett away) - I thought I was listening to Duane! Much appreciate all you do, and love listening to you play that wicked slide! Best wishes for the future!
I watched Rhett’s video awhile back and I’m so glad you’re doing this man! Looking forward to your content. Also can’t wait for the PRS custom guitar in your future! I just got my first PRS guitar. The DGT SE and LOVE IT. Excited about your channel man!
I have been a fan of slide guitar going back to the 70's/80's; Duane Allman, Foghat/Rod Price, Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Winter, Thorogood and today's players Sonny Landreth, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, (to many to list now and then) and Dylan Adams!! 💙🎸 As much as I like finding artists on media platforms, I am old school and want a physical copy to play. Please, Please tell us you are planning to put out your own albums, that would be tremendous! All the best in 2024!
Dylan - It’s all well deserved! You’ve got a unique style of playing that sets you apart from other players. Everything you’ve been doing, including the luthier training will only make you a better player. Always happy to see another Floridian do well. Keep it up!!
I was introduced to yr. talent by Rhett as I have followed him for yrs. & am very pleased by the reaction of the online guitar community. Hard work has paid off for you. I love yr. technique w/the slide as you have a unique style that just rips!
Congrats on the success. I am from Jacksonville, but have lived in Atlanta for awhile. I am going to pick up slide guitar after watching your videos. I'm going to get that Gretsch resonator you had in a recent video as soon as I can get to the store.
Very glad to be tuned into your journey. You are an amazing player, and very talented. I’ve been inspired by your playing. I’ve started to play without a pick, and pick up the slide more...though, no real break throughs yet. Maybe someday I’ll get the guts and scratch together to reach out for a lesson? Your “Great Gig” performance on Rhett’s channel was crazy good. Not for nothing there’s a seed of a band in there? Glad you are letting your voice be heard! PL&U
If I can say anything about you, Dylan, I absolutely love how your humble energy and insane skill meet each other to create an authentic experience that displays your true love for your craft. Like you, I have been a fan of Rhett for a few years (it's a bucket list item to meet him one day). I am not a playermyself, but my love for music has led me to my beginnings of being a promoter... building the shows I love and meeting the musicians I admire. You, are easily, a new addition to that list. Love what you do, love who you are... and hope that I will get to experience your music in person one day. Much love to you, to Rhett, and all the other musicians that enrich our lives every day!
Not a bit do I see blowing your own whistle!!! Kudos to you ole buddy. It’s been great following you. Good to see a S Georgia boy making it ( anything between Tallahassee and Jacksonville northward might as well be S Georgia as it has nothing to do with the rest of Flarda).😂😂😂😂
All so deserved man. Rhett’s best video ever imo..😜at least most important to a lot of us.. and for what it’s worth, you’re great at this RU-vid/social media thang. Well spoken, informative, effective and to the point. And the gratitude is palpable. Keep it up, keep slidin’, please!🙏🏽👊🏽
Luck comes to those who are prepared, as they say. You've clearly put in incredible work over the years, and we're lucky that we now get to hear your music.
Your playing is stellar and I didn't perceive any of this as bragging. You've earned it and I appreciate hearing about your journey. I only have one suggestion and that is to find your own path. Don't worry about being like anyone else, don't try to replicate known formulas. Think about what's in the market and what YOU want to do. Just like with your playing and style, you will find what that is for YOU and stand out. Good luck!
Thank you for so much content and lessons on the slide. I find it difficult to find slide guitar players out there. It's like the slide has become a thing of the past, but I do not believe that. It is so progressive and so flexible, I do not see any boundaries. Love it and your videos. Cheers!
Your playing, your tone, and your musicianship are great. And you seem like a nice guy. Although your videos are great, I hope I get to see you playing live someday.
There's a video of Derek Trucks playing while John Mayer and BB King look on in amazement. Someday a legendary guitarist is going to be on stage with you, watching you play and looking astonished. You're the real deal and I hope you continue to succeed
And you changed MY life! You inspired me to try and learn how to play slide finally, after 50 years of loving the sound, but never getting to grips with the how. Your fantastic common sense, pragmatic guide to playing slide in standard tuning lit a fire under my ass, and now after months of following your advice, I feel like I can actually do it. I mean, I’m no Duane Allman, and likely never will be, but now I’ve got a fab new tool in the kit. More power to you Dylan. You’re not only a fabulous musician, you’re a hell of a teacher too. All best for 2024 and beyond.
You have an amazing talent and I do believe you will eventually be mentioned along with the other great slide players. Wishing you much success. Stick with it and I hope the right people will come forward to push you to the next level. Looking forward to what you do this year.
Love your playing happy for you getting the recognition you deserve. I’m trash at slide but love to play guitar and I’m in a local cover band on Hilton head SC. You should do an original band and record an EP. I’d play in your band
Internet guitar community’s “Rookie of the Year” for 2023! I do wish you and that gorgeous red Les Paul had been able to make it work out, though. You two were a great-looking couple and had “iconic pairing” written all over you. But I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. 😜
Dude you worked your ass off and you have a talent and sound that is world class...you should be selling out mid size Arenas and selling lots of Music online. You earned it.
You're an amazing player. I discovered you as we all did through Rhett Schull. I remember that video he made of you and your band. Mr. Shull said it best as I recollect, "The pocket is deep" with your band. I notice them every time I see you on You Tube. I hope there is a bright future for all of you come what may. I haven't read any comments on this post, so please forgive if my final point has been said already. Your shout out to Rhett Schull was well done and speaks to the person you are. As your popularity and notoriety grows, don't forget to be someone elses Rhett Schull. Be on the lookout for the next Dylan Adams. A nod to an unknown talent with go a long way as you know better than most. Im sure you have already thought of this, but in the off chance your shy humble character (which is great btw) causes you to not see the impact you now have to help the next player.....don't do that!! Lol. Looking forward to more from you in the future. Perhaps on a stage somewhere. Best wishes.
My personal opinion of your playing is that it is so unique. With the slide on the pinky and being able to chord behind it is a great sound. It's great to hear them mingled together and I'm not sure I've heard much of it before. Put that together with your gift for melody making and it's just a great sound. I can't wait to see where all this leads you. Hopefully a big stage somewhere with lots of fans. Think of every way to monetize this in the meantime so you can stay afloat to focus on guitar. This is your time to become a master musician. Great job buddy and I look forward to all your future videos. Let us know when you do videos on other people's channels.
this is pure inspiration! I've seen many individuals grow in this field but your story is truly inspirational and I'm glad you're sharing it. Keep on going!
