I had one of these as a long term rental for 3 months while my car was waiting on a part. Two things that impressed me about the Blazer were how quick it was and the mpg. The 3.6 also sounded pretty good when revved out. That said, Apple carplay constantly glitched out on me which was extremely annoying to live with.
I love your fuel economy tests. 90% of my driving is just like them, cruise set at 70 for mile after mile. One of the most tiring things for me is a loud interior. Given the low price of dedicated dB meters (or free apps), would it be possible to start including a sound level?
Thank you! We've experimented with sound level testing, but it's difficult to standardize (same section of pavement, same speed, two opposite directions, same device). But it's something we're always considering.
I appreciate your review showing real world fuel economy. What kind of wind did you have that day though? I test drove a 2019 Blazer with the V6 and going 69 on the highway I looked at the instant mileage and it was in the low to mid 30s, going both North and South, about 3-5 miles each way. I recently test drove a few SUVs, all by GM, and the Blazer was by far my favorite. Good power and acceleration too. The 2018 Acadia Denali with the same engine as the Blazer was a dog, but that was before they gave the Acadia the 9 speed. Equinox sucked with the 1.5 and FWD.
@@hectortoledo5914 it’s not just about the price, it’s what you get for that price. In other words, the Blazer is not as great of a value as Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, or Mazda CX9. They are all in the same price range but GM has to cut more corners because of their higher manufacturing costs.
Ya for the price, Id get a Passport Elite. But that said, I had one of these for 3 months as a long term rental and my favorite thing about it was the 3.6 v6. It’s a fantastic pairing for this vehicle. I was genuinely surprised about how quick it was and consistently got above EPA rated mpg even at 80+ mph.
@@jakes5530 I agree about your positive comments on the blazer. To be honest with you to blazer is a better looking SUV then all the ones mention here in the comments. I’m sorry, but looks count and I would much rather drive around in one of these than a Honda or Toyota, which are boring looking in comparison
@@lukeheffernan really If you want an Audi or BMW will cost you much more these days, unless you get them stripped. The Honda and the Toyota are so boring to look at who would want those.
