Electric cars can be made simpler once the technology is perfected and be easy enough for the average usrr to fix....but that is a ways off. I like electric but no engine noise will always keep me away, loud pipes for life.

I was looking at crate motors and I think GM is discontinuing the LS7. It has been marked down quite a bit. I am thinking about getting one before they are gone and when my LS1 eventually dies (181k miles, running strong), the 427 can go in.

I don't believe that is true but I understand what you are saying. I'm 52 and my first car was a 69 Tempest with a 350. Not quite the beast you had but it was what I was able to get at the time. I say that because my 13 y/o son has a poster of a Tesla on his wall and he loves that electric Porsche now too! They can't build cars for us forever.... The next generation of people want electric everything, and if they make them better than what they are now I don't totally blame them. It is somewhat of a desecration to make an electric mustang, but give it a few years and kids will be buying them up and modding them like the gas powered ones of today. I think it's going to be interesting.. but I plan on keeping at least one of my gas powered dinosaurs!! Lol
