2023 CHEVY COLORADO: HIGH OUTPUT ENGINE DEALER INSTALL PROCESS 

Still awaiting the "envelope with the code" to arrive at my dealer, so they can flash the ECU. Very awkward process, pursuing this basic flash tune. That's Chevy for ya!

Bought my trail boss three weeks ago. Did a, few mods like tinted front door windows ,I did a tunnel cover similar to yours and a clear front bra. To protect from rock, chips, added LED headlights full set of mud floor liner. In the process of having cruise control installed by a local shop. Just ordered a remote start from Chevrolet and also ordered the chip upgrade hopefully to experience in liking the torque upgrade. If it’s possible, I’d love to share some pictures of the process lol to get your opinion on what she looks like now. Enjoying your Contant.

Nice. Just purchased the high output engine calibration. Can't wait to try it out when the dealership gets the info and is done programming it.

Hello! Hey I’m super frustrated with the process or lack of knowledge from most of my dealerships who don’t know anything about the calibration to the high output. I even called GM and no knowledge from them either. I ordered my Colorado this past winter/spring and during the ordering process my salesman knew nothing about it. He kept telling me that I have the high output, but I told him do not especially ordering the Turbo Plus option!! After reviewing back at your video I didn’t know anything about an RWQ at that time. I went to 3 different dealerships and they look at me like I’m crazy. I’m absolutely stunned at the lack of product knowledge from the dealerships/salesmen. I’m going to have to snapshot the service bulletin that you provided on this video and take it to the dealership. 2024 is right around the corner and the 24 Colorados will no longer have the Turbo Plus, it’s the lower power train or the high output. I don’t want to miss out on the upgrade. Sorry for the long drawn out comment, but I really needed to talk to you lol!!

I wanted to know if there’s anyway to know if my motor has already been flashed when picking up my Colorado trail boss or not. I’m not too trust worthy of my dealer since they had left out some toe hooks I had paid for, but they’re claiming the flash was done upon pick up a month ago

I put a deposit down on a Colorado Z71. It is currently in transit. I want the High Output flash put on it when I pick it up. Should I start the process of getting things prepped before arrival? The dealer told me it should be here in 2-3 weeks max.

Maybe you can answer this question for me! During your driving test it seemed pretty loud in your cab. I’ve been going nuts with my new Z71 because all I can hear is the tires droning. Do you notice that as well?

Just recently came across your channel cuz I’m looking into buying a trail boss myself. But I just saw that your trail boss has remote start? How did you get that option? I thought that was only available for the higher trims

Are you charged for the RWQ at the point of sale when ordering the truck or do you pay when upgrading at the dealership? I just ordered a Turbo Plus yesterday.

Have you looked any more in to exhausts on this? There are videos with the Silverado 2.7L Turbo with exhausts and they do sound pretty decent. To me, that seems a little weird on a full size truck though but if it can really be pulled off and sound good, it should sound great on a Colorado then. Maybe sort of like a Tacoma with exhaust, but hopefully a bit better perhaps. Curious to know from someone who has actually heard it in person, rather than through a video.

We can't feel the difference you're feeling obviously, but that little smile when you accelerate says it all. And those torque numbers, those are really oz. of gas per step-on-it drained from your tank. :-) Be curious to compare your mileage before and after the tune.

It’s too bad the Chevy Colorado owners (except the ZR2) do not automatically get the high output engine like all the trim levels of the Canyon. All Canyon trim levels get the high output motor 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don't think the Dealer install is a good Idea - I had mine on the the invoice and when I first called to check if it was done after purchase they said the service dept said was showing it was. I don't trust the dealers. There is no way to prove the tune was put on it as I have no before and after feel. All I have is the invoice and the Dealers word it was done. Wish there was some kind of check to prove it after all its $395 bucks. To be clear mine was showing 2.7L TURBO HIGH-OUTPUT 395.00 CALIBRATION (DLR INSTALL) - This is on the invoice
