Many of the "experts" don't think much of the Traverse, but after driving one I was impressed. Very spacious and comfortable. That long wheelbase makes for the nicest riding mid size SUV on the market, yet it still handles like a smaller vehicle. Interior is not flashy but has everything you need and is intuitive to operate. I also find the clean, chiseled exterior to be more attractive than most, especially with the blackout package. I think the Telluride looks lumpy and cartoonish in comparison.
@@jakecutter1487 Yep, I learned my lesson after buying a 4Runner. It was good off road but underpowered, poor at towing, had a cramped and uncomfortable seating position, was very stiff and hard starting in the cold, and not free from problems by any means. I decided after that to buy what I like and I've been much happier since. My wife and I test drove the new Pilot a couple weeks ago and regardless of all the glowing praise it has received, within about 5 minutes we both knew we didn't want it. One reason is how low to the floor the seats are...something very obvious that I haven't seen mentioned by any reviewer. You have to step all the way up to the Elite just to get a power passenger seat with height adjust. We've now seen them all and my wife likes the Traverse best for the reasons I already mentioned. It's comfortable, spacious, quiet, and rides and drives nice.
Back in 2016, we just couldn't afford the Traverse and CX-9 had a $5000 rebate and much lower starting price. It was OK for 7 yrs , but this time I wanted to get the Traverse bar none! And it's improved so much since 2016. Probably good I waited for 310HP and 27MPG Hwy, best of both worlds with the 9 speed. Shifts smooth as glass.
This is the best midsize suv by far. Everything is well thought out and placed in the proper location. In term of maintenance, this the most easiest to do maintenance on. Nothing is funky about this 2nd gen traverse beside the new model from 2020 and up that just kind of went south and looks funky.
You made me want this SUV. I don't even like them. It's not a bad price if one could ditch some of the add on from the dealership. Like you said below $40,000. I'd like to paint my civic that color. Catch you on the next one.
Right now some dealers near me have these for 2-3K under sticker. Which doesn't sound like much until you see the Hyundai/Kia/Honda/Toyota dealers charging 3-5K over sticker.
It's kinda mind blowing and sad as to how everything has gone up in price in the past 20 years, supplies of supply and demand, mankind is really giving himself a hard way to go, especially when you go grocery shopping, it's way too dam expensive to be a human being,
Buy a Travers and take it with you to retire in Peru or Ecuador ...no minimum wage . Much cheaper beach living...or mountains, whichever you prefer. Its easier than you might think.
I want one LT with the trailer tow package it havs a V6 the Ford ranger and was looking at in the Chevy Colorado brand new come in a 4 cylinder f the four cylinders give me a V6 and the thay gets the same gas mileage ore better and it would probably be cheaper on insurance because it would be insured under a station wagon and the V6 would last longer obviously no turbocharger to have more issues with later on turbochargers make your insurance more
I like that he definitely went through all of the trim levels and features, but in about 1 minute ! The guy talks too fast, like a salesman 200 words per minute! 😂 There are no text overlays to accentuate what he's talking about...Just a front shot of the vehicle for like 6 minutes. Boring. I'm shocked he didn't mention those were 20" wheels while he was raving about the upgrade. It wasn't until he was showing the camera angles inside that he mentions in passing that they are 20" wheels. You have to throw it in LOW to manually adjust gears, not Drive . Cup holders are tiny. We had to immediately buy cup holder expanders! He didn't mention the REMOTE auto-down windows and didn't demo the autostart which is ON THE FOB...no internet necessary! (unlike Toyota). He also didn't mention Stop/Start which is greatly improved from 2019, and also includes an Override Button! 2nd row is like sitting on a park bench! 😏 No sport mode necessary, it's always in sport mode! 😂😂 Didn't want to spin the tires? I spun all 4 on my AWD test drive without trying . Most wind noise is from the cross bars on the luggage rack. Duh. I was disappointed that the straight racks were included on ALL trims as well, not a fan. 😒 I'm seriously considering removing them to reduce drag and wind noise. But I suppose most buyers will look at that as a bonus. All other competitors that I've seen make you pay for those racks. But it's $300 I'd rather have in my pocket...plus $200 for his cross bars. Not to mention $250 extra for those 2 black dealer installed emblems he mentioned. That's a ripoff. Wish I had at least gotten to keep my originals as a souvenir .😁 This car has so much tech on it, you'll learn some new gadget everyday for the first month. It's like watching Dirty Rotten Scoundrels for the 3rd time and noticing new jokes you missed the first 2 times because there are just so many, so fast. 😂 Overall, a great choice in the class. If all people can do is gripe about plastic, they better just leave the planet. Sorry but it's a plastic world, you're stuck in it. 🤪
We did. We like it so far. Wish it had memory seats though. If you're interested talk to a dealer, you may be surprised. We got $5K off ours. We looked at them all and the Traverse was my wife's favorite. If you need the passenger space of a minivan with AWD and decent towing, the Traverse is hard to beat. Spacious, comfortable, smooth ride and good road manners. Interior is dated, but everything you need is there.
