As Mike once said “NASCAR is going to be so overwhelmed with things to fix…they won’t even get to address the fact that it’s gonna fly away if it gets turned quickly at 195.”
Even at 180 it can. Most blowovers are from getting hit while spinning. This is one of the first besides larsons where he didn’t get hit. He hit a bump and it lifted him.
@@clemsonfan322scstrong Yeah of course that's why they fix issues preventing cars from going into the catch fence. God I hate nascar fans so much you people are ultra cringe.
Sort of, the crash itself is extremely similar, almost identical on camera. However due to the safety improvements over the last 22 years we only see a portion of how Dale's body would have reacted, at least the initial portion. Still good insight and hopefully NASCAR can learn and improve safety while not slowing the car/making the racing worse. Not to sound cold hearted but racing is inherently dangerous, yes we should take what steps we can but at the end of the day there's always a chance.
@@anareel4562 Of course, but I mean in terms of how the body moved. It’s a bunch of science shit I’m too lazy to type out, but I’m 99% sure we could accurately see how Sr’s body moving by matching autopsy reports with how Blaneys body moved.
I was there and right around the end of stage 2 before the Ryan blaney crash everyone was watching the spaceX rocket launch in the stands. It was something strait out of a dream I’m surprised they didn’t show it on the broadcast at all
I was at that race with my parents. I got to meet Erik Jones again and he signed my Hurley t-shirt and my new Allegiant diecast. I also got to witness a flip in person for the first time. After all, this was the best NASCAR race I have been to.
Preece’s car initially landed in between the window net and the roof hatch, it cause the frame to buckle probably. The window net is understandable because the fabric of the net is lighter than metal, yeah yeah yeah, lot of science bullshit, but the window net was moving at a different speed than the car itself, enabling it to break off. The roof hatch most likely took a good portion of the force of the initial landing, causing it to break open as well. If you look closely enough, you can see that the roof is buckled in a little bit. He caught air initially because (and I know from experience on both Iracing and Forza), the height difference between the grass and the pavement is like a foot. Preece has just become a test dummy this season.
We can all agree thank fuck for soft walls the HANS device and improved safety features and healthier drivers. If that kind of hit happened even in like 2007, it would’ve been horrendous.
Honestly I think Riley Herbst did better in this cup race than he’s ever done in xfinity. If he didn’t get caught up in the big one I think he would’ve had a real shot to win.
When you can't tell if the car is upright or overturned from an overhead shot after a flip, you KNOW that car is messed up. I think the only thing NASCAR has proven is that they know how to stop people from dying in the cars when the do this shit, they have no idea how to stop this. He's lucky he didn't roll more times, so much of that forward energy was converted to rotational when that roof dug into the sod, the only thing that saved him is that he started flipping end over end for a second instead of barrel rolling, that seemed to dissipate a lot of that energy.
Probably one of those retarded reasons where you hate the fans so you have to hate the driver. Haters are the most fucking illogical people sometimes. Like if you’re going to hate somebody at least have some logic behind it.
I hope Elliott wins 10 races and the championship next year so the entire internet can hear the temper tantrums of these kids. The Elliott hate is real😂
You guys should work on saying “he killed him” or “ is dead” after crashes. It’s not very good taste of a memey joke when that’s a real possibility in motorsports.
@@number1musichater430 the rear end and engine stayed in the car though so not really a Rusty flip, wait, that was Ryan Newman, the NASCAR crash test dummy
He Flipped 11 times. If you count the first half flip, the flip counter would start when he's on his roof and he rolled 10 times on his roof, then he landed on his wheels counting as a half flip, considering the first initial half flip it would be 11.
11 is correct, but that first one isn't a half. Sure he didn't barrel roll off when his car caught air going backwards, but that first flip was still him going from upright to upside down to upright again, just in the same direction, to me, that first one is still a flip, so 11 total.
