I expected a little bit more from FVSU with their numbers and the amount of cocking back their brass was doing in the beginning, but they still did well. When I listened to the audio without visual, they were neck and neck - which shouldn't have been the case with ASU's smaller numbers. ASU played with a bit more power, very different from the past several years - looking forward to seeing what these two bands will look like in the next year or two.
I'm so glad FVSU ain't doing all that squealing on every songs. BMMB keep growing stronger with cleaner sounds and better play book with great arrangements 💙💛 BMMB for the win🏆 can't wait to see both bands next year 5th quarter is getting better now 👍🏾
I think ASU’s music selection is what kept them competitive. FVSU won imo and is the bigger and better band but they tie one hand behind their backs with their music selection and let inferior bands hang around! Just like the Football team did all season long!
I kaint cap it seems that Albany wanted this battle a lil more than fort valley. I’m going to give this battle to Asu! Fort Valley Was Bringing It But Albany Arrangements Is What Keep The Safe.
Albany gave me chills on the second song intro. I’m proud of both programs, finally giving instate folks some solid music and programs !! ASU giving me southern vibes and fvsu giving me jackson vibes kinda 🔥
All these people saying FVSU got the W can't be watching the same battle I just watched. So what, FVSU was louder... Thats expected with a larger band. But if we're judging on arrangements and musicality ASU took it home and the Passionettes are always top tier and one of the best collegiate level dance teams. I understand the excitement the Wildcats have because their band program has flourished but come on now. Let's be real.
Albany had musicianship, sound and power for their size and, they sounded hungrier, could barely hear fvsu,s trumpets and arrangements sounded thin in areas and just highschopl compared to albany. (Im a neutral spectator)
FVSU won the band battle. Their sound was clear, the tubas, trombones and trumpets came to play, as well as, the drumline and other instrumentalists. In addition, 3-D, led by their Captain Ryan, did their thing!!! Beautiful and can dance-👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Dolls
A good even battle. ASU did good with the numbers they was working with. Fvsu had a good even executionable sound I’d like to feel a lil more punch from Fvsu given the numbers. ASU definitely plays out more. Imma lean asu on this battle I feel like all things considered equal they performed a little better. Great song exchanges from both tho…….
First, I want to say this is the best Fort Valley has sounded.……. Ever! This is a rebuilding year for Albany State and they came out swinging like that-great job! This battle was pretty evenly matched despite Fort Valley being the big band. I'm just happy all of Georgia's collegiate bands are now on the come up. Kudos to both programs!
FVSU your arrangements are killing you fr!! And everybody needs articulation drills (coming from an alum) Y’all sound good but the arrangements man smh asu slight edge with arrangements Breakdown FV bigger band ASU overblowing at times but sounded pretty good for their size FV percussion is smacking, sometimes overpowering the band (you all are the biggest section so sometimes we have to be mindful of balance) ASU phasing phrasing phrasing! FV they should not be matching your level of intensity on any tune 🤷🏾♂️ (I still love y’all though) Honestly I feel like FV thought they were just gonna come in and smack these folks around, but that didn’t happen this time I do like the one FV played at 12:00 though
