that sponsored skit should be in the running for best live action short. such a touching story with gorgeous cinematography and top notch performances. Brava Boys. Brava.
Y’all talking about Brendan Fraser like “where is he?” And “I saw the movie and THATS an Oscar winning performance” reminds me of people talking about Jessica Chastain last year. And look what happened!
Guillermo del Toro's pinnochio has a strong Oscar campaign and there's buzz it could get a best picture nomination. Puss in boots the last wish will get nominated but I think it needs to be like a Frozen level blockbuster to beat a well respected and prestige Hollywood director's film! Not to mention of a huge chunk of Hollywood loves Guillermo del Toro so there's that!
I have a feeling the Globes nominations this year are going to be shockingly unexpected. DOUBLING the number of voters is no joke, I think starting this year we're gonna witness a huge shift in the kind of films Golden Globes nominate. Although there's obviously no way to predict how the new members will vote, so we'll just have to wait and see I guess... I'm so freaking excited lol
Actress Drama: 1 Cate Blanchett - Tar 2 Danielle Deadwyler - Till 3 Michelle Williams - The Fablemans 4 Viola Davis - The Woman King 5 Olivia Colman - Empire of Light Maybe: Jessica Chastian - The Good Nurse
In 2020 I would have said that they would not nominate Fraser this year due to his statement he wont attend the ceremony (which is totally understandable) I'm glad they doubled the voters, so I'm more fortunate in their choices probably
Actress Musical/Comedy 1 Michelle Yeoh - Everything Everywhere 2 Emma Thompson - Leo Grande 3 Margot Robbie - Babylon 4 Anya Taylor Joy - The Menu 5 Leslie Manville - Mrs Harris
For the GG in particular... adding 100 international members is definitely going to affect movies like Elvis and Top Gun - in a good way. These are movies that do extremely well overseas, sometimes even more so than here in the US. Elvis just won all kinds of awards in Australia, including Best Picture. I expect both of those movies to be affected by the new memberships and they will both be nominated. I think something like TAR I think could actually be hurt by this.
@@livelaughluvdisc well Elvis and Tar both got 3 total nominations. Top Gun Maverick only scored 2 nominations, but I think it might have been 3 if the Golden Globes didn't have a rocky history with Tom Cruise. He wasn't nominated for Best Actor even though some thought he might be. So it seems like neither of us were totally spot on, as it was pretty even for both types of movie.
Gabriel labelle is going to get nominated for the fabelmans he’s getting in for lead at the Oscar’s and I think him and corrio duel for cc young performance
I saw Ticket to Paradise with my mother, it´s nice but I think if it gets any nomination it would be for George Clooney for comedy/musical actor, he´s playing a lovable, fun, dad type character that I think is very friendly to nominate.
Way too many people on here like “Why isn’t Elvis in comedy/musical?” It’s a drama, with music in it. Always found it weird that Walk the Line was in C/M
Let’s see how they did- Drama 4/5 avatar 2 instead of WT Drama actor- 4/5 pope instead of cruise Drama actress- 3/5 OC and AdA instead of JC and DD Comedy musical- 4/5 TOS instead of menu CM actress- 4/5 LM instead of JR CM actor- 4/5 AD instead of TH Director- 4/5 baz instead of polley Supporting actress- 2/5 only Curtis and condon Supporting actor- 3/5 BP and BK instead of BW and PD Screenplay- 5/5 Score- 4/5 banshees instead of Batman Song- 3/5 Carolina and ciao papa instead of NLU and Vegas Animated- 4/5 inu-oh instead of bad guys International- 4/5 Argentina instead of bardo
I predict Daniel Radcliffe and Weird will be nominated in their respective categories. The Globes seem like the perfect awards show to recognise that type of film
RRR is picking up speed quickly each day in awards circles & loved tremendously by the critics, so you should now not underestimate it for any awards right now & i am happy that you guys are acknowledging it that. as an indian i am felling so proud of RRR & i guess if the globes want to make & create history - RRR is the way to go. international feature, song, muscial & comedy looks 100% locked for it. personally i feel like ss rajamouli will get director nomination as for score my opinion is RRR has better score than the fabelmans. the thing to keep in mind RRR will get your awards to trend and increase your social media engagement like no other. when ss rajamouli sir won the best director award recently the indian online circle was on fire. just imagine what will happen with the big awards. ohh cant wait for history to be created for india.
RRR is really entertaining, but overrated… It might get nominations, only because of the marketing, but I doubt it’ll win anything… And if it does win in any category, I’ll say it’ll be undeserving…
@@gauravw6947 STFU, critics loving it for marketing?? How dumb are you ?? If marketing brings oscars, Marvel might've won plenty considering their money power.
@@sweetstrawberry4909 LOL! Clearly, you are ignorant about how Oscar campaigns work… Every film needs a pushover by the studio through campaigns and marketing to make it to the Oscars… Talking about Marvel, how do you think Disney (which owns Marvel) managed to get so many nominations and wins in the past decades, especially for overrated movies like Black Panther??? Just because someone has a different opinion than yours, doesn’t mean that they are dumb, but shows that you are intolerant… Also, your Papa doesn’t own RU-vid, to dictate others to shut up…
I find it strange how everyone is underestimating the possibility of Nicolas Cage for Massive Talent in Comedy/Musical Actor (#20 on Gold Derby is ludicrous). He was one of the main talking points of the first half of the year, he's still a big star having a renaissance, a book was published about his career this year as well. It's been forgotten, but the Globes play by their own rules. I have him #4 for Actor behind Farrell, Craig, and Hanks
You guys sound really high!!!! I keep having to go back because the speed of your diction rhymes with the malady called addiction. Speed on white knights...speed on....
Wait. Why does GoldDerby not even have International Feature, Original Score, or Original Song as prediction options?! Get your shit together GoldDerby!
I’m hoping for absolute chaos with the nominations. Included in that is Jeremy Pope! Award shows shows have gotten so predictable and boring. Also, I’d like you to elaborate on “I don’t know what to think of Janelle Monet” when she’s actually won awards but you’re sure of others who haven’t won anything.
The Globes always keep it weird. I’ve been trying to figure out who benefits the most from that, and I think the answer is Jamie Lee Curtis for EEAAO, and possibly Ralph Fiennes for The Menu. I wonder if Tom Cruise can pull off a Best Actor nomination after returning all his Globe trophies.
They got rid of the Foreign Language Film category??? WHAT? I think it's probably because since they added international members they know International foreign language films will be nominated in all the categories so they just got rid of it. I mean, I honestly prefer it that way. If they're gonna get rid of it they better nominate foreign language films in every category. BAFTAs (with their stupidass name for the category) and Oscars should follow suit. They should get rid of the category and start nominating and awarding international foreign language films in all the major and technical categories. limiting foreign films just to 1 category unless they make some sort of impact while mediocre US films can make it in as long as theyre in English, made in the US and has well known actors.
@@almond2403But why not have both? I think you can have Best International Category and put International films in each category as well. More celebrities would be willing to attend with even extra diversity like that.
@@megamoviez Because they won't allow that. They'll either only award and nominate films in that category + maybe 1-2 extra categories or nominate and award them in all the categories but completely get rid of the category. It's once in a blue moon that they award a foreign film in any category that isn't international feature film. If they somehow start giving international foreign language films more awards they'll immediately shut down that category because they'll treat them the same as English language films that only compete for Best Picture, which I think is fair. Mind you, in its 94 years only 4 foreign language films won more than 2 oscars: Life is Beautiful (1997): 3 Oscars Fanny & Alexander (1982): 4 Oscars Crouching Tiger (2000): 4 Oscars Parasite (2019): 4 Oscars see how all 4 won 4 or less oscars? and only Parasite actually went on to win Best Picture. 40 English language films won 6+ Oscars while only 4 foreign language films won 3-4 Oscars...
@@megamoviez Let's see how the Golden Globe nominations go this Monday. If the nominees are full of international foreign films in every category then I'm completely fine with them getting rid of the category. If they somehow only nominate 2 films in every category and nothing else, or even worse, they don't nominate them in many of the categories and only nominate 1 film then their decision to get rid of the category is terrible TERRIBLE.
Vegas has a low chance of getting a nomination since it was an interpolation of Hound Dog, where the crawdads sing has a chance to get a nomination and certainly to win
8:51 "...mom Justin just said blow hole" 13:51 not cole being flabbergasted by brother bro 15:15 comedians 27:36 - 27:50 forgot my favorite part 31:52 i love how brother bro just keeps triggering the oscar expert with his statement lmao 41:21-43:17, everyone to brother bro:"Were you silent or were you SILENCED"
Actor Musical/Comedy: 1 Colin Farrell - The Banshees 2 Daniel Craig - Glass Onion 3 Ralph Fiennes - The Menu 4 Daniel Radcliffe - Weird 5 Diego Calva - Babylon
I hope Eddie Redmayne gets snubbed in favor of Barry Keoghan. He’s so good! Also, I wonder if the critics will have seen Matilda The Musical. It opened the London Film Festival and has been getting good reviews. Plus the stage musical is beloved. I wonder if it’s gonna sneak into some categories.
Beale Street didn’t make picture but made globes I thought? What do you mean lineup of ten, like guaranteed 10? I don’t remember Rush’s Year having a guaranteed 10
I think You must more to take notice for european films. I my opinion, huge chance for nomination in best director category, have Jerzy Skolimowski for EO- this film still grow up ! Best from Poland Guys :* :*
I feel your pain with White Noise, saw it the other day and it's in my top 10 of the year. Genuinely baffled new body rhumba isn't getting any love, I've listened to it like 30 times.
