@@skinnysnorlax9356 I heard that a Haunted Mansion cast member job is the Holy Grail there. I know that Disney hires a lot of Goths, Pagans, Wiccans and other “marginalized” people because they’re the most creative people. And at the end of the day, that’s Disney’s stock and trade.
They definitely did that in California recently, probably in anticipation of the movie. We rode it and went WOW! They spent a LOT of time adding more detail and everything glows more.
It looks really great. Leota's new hair hides the mechanic better and suggested swirling mists. The timings are mostly better and new Mummy. My only wish is someone would sort Constance out. Her head is so askew in both, she looks like demised herself by swinging upward one last time.
I love the Haunted Mansion but there have always been some things about the DisneyWorld version that have bothered me. The Stretching Room scrim seems woefully misaligned in some of the corners. Master Gracey NEVER would have allowed such poor craftsmanship in the woodwork! The 7-8 busts in the Library always seemed to be a bit of overkill for me: too much of the same effect all over the place. How about ONE lifesize bust of Shakespeare (or Poe)? The jerky-armed piano player’s shadow needs to have more fluid movement and be synched to the soundtrack; how hard can that be? Love the Escher stairway room and blinking wallpaper. To me, Leota’s hair looks a bit too heavy to allow her to float around the room and it should be less defined around its edges. Right now it looks like a bad Marie Antoinette wig. And I know it’s a legacy screw up but would it kill them to have the men lead the women in the Ballroom? I take your bet not many people-if anyone-would actually notice (except for Offhand Disney perhaps...) And I’m not sure but it appears that there is no atmospheric scrim in the Graveyard? Everything seems to be in rather sharp focus as opposed to the foggy/blurry Graveyard in Anaheim. Despite these details, The Haunted Mansion will ALWAYS be my favorite ride.
Yes! You’d think after all these years, the janky piano player maquette would have been replaced by a projection, like the one in the attic. Still waiting for that “update”.
i was just there in june and it was working fine! It looks like among the other things they recently broke with this 3 day "refurb" the shadow playing the piano is another they broke, because his hands seem to be struggling, it's actually one of my favorite SFX in the ride because of it's practicality because it is actually physical props moving in front of a light shining on the floor which i will always prefer to some dumb video projection...
Nice but i thought they’d update the invisible ghost playing the piano that looks like a cardboard cut out jerking about with a projector image to look a bit realistic
All the time they do an update I think they make it less scary. This time around the stretching room is too bright! You can see the illusion and that the walls are basically wall paper. When it was darker it looked real and mystical! The mumy looks like it has better articulation, but it goes by fast. I loved the timing of the stops. Great footage!
Excellent camera work! I can't wait to go in November!!! 😁 Madame Leota looks especially gorgeous! My cat looks really scared right now 🤣🤣 I think it was the ringing bell
@@ClonedOriginalsme too, unfortunately some people are such babies they even talk about Snow White attraction traumatising them when they were 10. I went on the older version that was a lot scarier in the 80s when I was 8 and absolutely loved it as did everyone else, there’s a video of it on here and the amount of people saying they can’t believe something as “frightening” as that existed in the magic kingdom 🤦🏾
Ngl I’m kinda glad the ride stops at that one spot in the graveyard cuz I almost never see a clear shot of the royal ghosts on the seesaw! It’s very cute lol
Beautiful video, but does anyone else hate the way they redesigned the stretching portraits and frames a few years ago? It used to be convincing but their new way makes it so obvious and you can even see the 'roller' mechanism... and then in this video, you can see that even one of the portraits is wrinkled etc. I thought it was really good before. Maybe it was unreliable though. Everytime I ride the DL version (which is the same) I can't stop looking at how bad it is.
oh my god they fix one thing and break a dozen others! they still did not fix the audio in the portrait hallway or the flashing lightning windows which would intermittently not flash correctly with the thunder, and it appears they're just fully on in this video and now there is no sound for the thunder! wtf disney! Edit: they also messed up the ghost host's shadow in the music room playing the piano, it was working fine last time i saw it 🤦♂
I DID NOT SEE THE HATBOX GHOST? IS HE BACK AT MAGIC KINGDOM? I HAVE THE ORIGINAL RIDE LP! I LOVE THE BALL ROOM, ESPECIALLY THE ORGAN!! THEY GOT RID OF SOMUCH SINCE 1979, MY LAST TIME THERE AND PROBALY WILL BE MY LAST! THEY EVEN MESSED UP THE COUNTRY BEAR! I NEVER SHOT VIDS (IT WAS NOT AROUND IN THE 70'S. BUT I HAVE AUDIO RECORDINGS I DID. SO I HAVE THE ORIGINALS.
Madame Leota’s room has always been the worst part of the attraction. She is an excellent effect. But, all the items flying around (especially the floating green dot) look stupid. The Paris version had windows with billowing curtains and that we prefect.
i agree, it's probably my least favorite part of the ride, the floating objects never did much for me. i just think it is too bland in there, they gave madame leota a glow up, the rest of the room could use one too...
consider this dismaying observation: this chamber has no windows and no doors… which offers you this chilling challenge: to find a way out! (Laughs.) Of course, there’s always my way.
Yeah, in the new movie we see the WDW mansion and it was called Crump manor. But if we go all the way back to the whole Tokyo Disneyland Tower of Terror, which was why the Hatbox ghost real name is George Hightower, due to the mansion being connected with Tokyo Disney's Tower of Terror, Jean Lafeatte, Pirates of the Caribbean and Tom Sawyer Island. Also the mansions name is actually Hightower Manor. Which then Locols started to call it the Haunted mansion Which has the same Initials as Hightower Manor.
@@disneyknightspadilla1406 Only in the movie. Crump's Manor is located in New Orleans, WDW Mansion is Upstate New York (Liberty Square is a Northeastern Whaling town, not Southern)
@@alucard2010 It's Disney. You should expect to wait another year. This is the same company that took 5 years to build one coaster that was already built someplace else.
@@redjaredits It is still Leota Toombs (thank goodness), but it looks like they changed the shape of the "head" that the face is projected on so that it looks better in profile.
