I’ll never understand that. The manufacturer claims “The weight of the spare tire will affect fuel economy” It’s BS in my opinion, they just want people to have to purchase the spare tire package. But, even if you do purchase the spare tire will the tools, there is no proper place to put it in the vehicle. Very aggravating
It's because everyone has a cell phone now and most people would rather call a tow truck than change a flat tire themselves. Especially if it means having to jack up an SUV. Honda knows this. It has a tire repair kit which is good enough the majority of the time. Spare tires are becoming less of a priority in general and we're going to see more of this going forward. My ZO6 Corvette doesn't have a spare tire and it's never bothered me.
@@LGH1847 I would rather call someone to help me change a tire. I think it's dangerous for women not to have a spare tire available. And, depending on where you are located, a tow truck would cost a fortune. I understand that not having a spare tire would not bother you, if you are male. But, for females it's dangerous waiting by the side of the road alone for a tow truck. This decision obviously is to save money and made by a man.
I blew out a tire on I-80 on a Sunday night, around 9:30 PM, in the middle of nowhere. I’m glad my CR-V had a spare...would have cost several hundred dollars and maybe 1-1/2 hours before any tow truck would arrive. I’ll never travel without a spare.
I bought the 2023 Honda CRV EXL model but it’s because the Hybrid was not available. Mine has the spare tire but my rims are not nearly as nice as the hybrid.
Many report 40. I'm getting 34 right now, due to winter temperatures, and it's almost on par as the 21 Accord hybrid, which got 35 in comparable temperatures.
From what I’ve seen, the Hybrid only comes in the “Touring” trim, as seen here. The “Touring” trim is the top of the line, you’ll get the black rims, sunroof, all the extras
