Absolutely glad to see a review on a truck that’s actually used every day and not a vehicle that polished to death show piece, well done!

I have the exact same truck, color, roof rails and step rails but I have the Honda tonneau cover with gray interior. Mine is 6 months old with only 3K miles, I’m retired so I don’t drive it much. In the past I also had a F150 and 250 and this is by far my favorite truck. I know people say its not a truck but it does everything I need it to do. Looking to buy a teardrop camper (GVW about 2300lbs). The only negatives I’ve noticed are the outdated infotainment system, brakes could be better and fuel economy (17/24), other than that I love the truck. Payload of about 1500lbs is nearing half ton truck territory and the 5K towing and 600lb tongue weight is not a problem for my use. I was disappointed with your drivers seat, hopefully it’s a one off. Did you contact Honda to ascertain if that would be a warranty fix, thanks for the review.

I own a 23 Ridgeline with 12,000 miles. I get 24-26 mpg and have take a couple of trips with it. This is my 4th Honda/Acura product in my life. I was please with an Acura MDX that went 350,000 miles with no trouble in 13 years. Currently the SUV is still running stong with the 2 nd owner and now has almost 400,000 miles ....When I needed a truck I decided on the Honda .. as the engine is the same as the MDX , 3.5. The only problem I had with the Ridgeline is a rear power window that wasn't working. I like how it rides and the comfort of the seats. I'm hoping to get many miles out of it ... and still have my 17 Tucson in which I mostly drive around town and to work. I'm planning on taking my Ridgeline on many long road trips when I get the chance (time off from work). In my area it seems like they are very popular with the older folks , retired people . I dislike not have a knob on the radio to change channels .. as I have XM radio and like to change stations alot . I'm not a big fan of the automatic tansmission and wish it had more torque to avoid shifting on the highway.

I have a 2007 Honda Ridgeline RTL with 152,000 miles on it. It is the most reliable vehicle I have owned. I bought it when it was 2 years old. It is perfect for my little gardening business. I like doing research on the newer Ridgelines pros and cons, in the event I replace my current vehicle. I like the newer ones. The sticker price scares me though. Enjoy your ride!

I never use the Econ mode either due to slow performance. I do tow a 3640 lb bassboat 1-2 X weekly without issue. Only reason I bought mid size Honda Sport was it was 24k less than a new GMC Sierra Crew Cab 5.3 that I previously drove. GMC priced themselves out of my league. I also had an A.R.E. tonneau cover installed. Been using those on 2 previous GMC’s. Honda is all black and shockingly I’ve received positive remarks on looks while getting gas. Owned 11 months with 6800 miles. Cloth seats, no sun roof, ph charger, side mirror warning to me is less stuff to break.

Looks like your tires are underinflated at 32-33 psi. Set them to what it says on the door panel, 35 psi cold. Your mileage will improve.

I have a 2021 RTLE with 30,000 my tires have warn a little more on the outside, but overall seems like I have at least 20 to 30,000 thousand more miles on them, and trust me I don’t wear them until there bald. I also had a Tacoma before put brand new Michelin LTX ms on that and had a vibration issue, in general Ridgeline steering way more solid than Tacoma’s.

The salesman at my local dealer told me that you can fit a full size spare in the trunk if you remove the sled. I haven't tried it, but it sure the heck looks like that wouldn't work. The tires are just to wide. Anybody ever try this?
@grantdeisig1360
@grantdeisig1360 5 месяцев назад
I tried it... it doesn't work...lol However they do have a way to mount the tire to the front of the bed. So at least there's that option.

Great trucks: The rails don’t make much sense as it’s not a tall vehicle! My 3 cents. …. If I was planning on “using” the vehicle I would not go with the higher trim level as materials are to delicate. 🤷🏻

There are a few options in that weight range. The ENKEI PERFORMANCE XM-6 Rims are 20 pounds

Looked at one and glad I didn’t buy. Saw how expensive maintenance is on these. Research first, understand you need a timing belt for example that cost $2000 to replace. Outdated stupid design. Avoid
@LehewTech
@LehewTech 5 месяцев назад
Timing belts are easy and cheap to replace compared to timing chains.
@billricheter5678
@billricheter5678 5 месяцев назад
@@LehewTech not at all. Way more expensive plus timing chains do t need to be changed. Ask any mechanic
@LehewTech
@LehewTech 5 месяцев назад
Timing chains absolutely go bad along with the various guides and tensioners for them. Would you prefer to change a timing belt every 100k miles or a chain every 180k? Just because timing chains don't have maintenence intervals in the owners manual doesn't mean they last forever.
@billricheter5678
@billricheter5678 5 месяцев назад
@@LehewTech I have never known anyone including mechanics that prefer timing belts. There is a reason they are rarely used. I am always scared of a timing belt with an interference engine. Belts are uc more vulnerable than chains that much is for certain. Also many recommend belt changes at 6000. That is quite an expense
@6speedcreed204
@6speedcreed204 4 месяца назад
@@billricheter5678 anywhere that is quoting you 2k for a belt replacement is ridiculous. A new genuine or OEM water pump and timing belt kit is likely well under 500-600 and its less than 5 hours of labor for sure, just did one at work a few weeks ago I believe the customer was out the door under 1200 including new spark plugs and that was WITH our shops mark up and pretty expensive labor charge. And most experienced mechanics including myself will tell you timing belt engines are much better than most timing chain engines. Chains do wear along with the plastic guides they ride on and especially if the driver doesn't keep up on oil changes it will become a problem around 150k miles or earlier. Timing belts will always be a much more cost effective option than a timing chain. The "cost" of maintenance of this vehicle is not realistically more expensive than any other vehicle.

So that's the kind of junk they make nowadays. More unnecessary garbage in them to go wrong so that you have to consistently take it somewhere to get it fixed. My good old 2002 Chevy 2500hd is a good truck. It does have a little bit of garbage on it but not too much, Id prefer something from the 80's then your talking great. But my engine in the 2002 made it to 370,000 miles before keeling over and sadly enough and not bragging but ive never been able to properly maintain my vehicles so the engine lasting that long is exceptional. I got the truck with 118,000 on it. Im not sure how well the previous owner maintained it but i can tell you that the oil may have gotten changed 3 times and i only did other work to it when it had to be done and believe it or not the truck rarely let me down. The 6.0 engine is a real good engine. My buddy just bought aa Ford truck and God's honest truth not even 100 miles on it and the dash lights quit working, they had to replace the wiring harness in it. No excuse for that. I have people harass me about my truck or even claim how better their truck is but yet my trucks 20 something years old and still going strong and there's will be lucky to make it to 10 years old.
